A family of hypergeometric integrals associated with Ramanujan's integral formula
H. M. Srivastava,M. I. Qureshi,R. Singh,A. Arora 장전수학회 2009 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.18 No.2
The main object of this paper is to investigate some interesting applications and generalizations of Ramanujan’s integral formula (which he obtained with the help of the celebrated Ramanujan Master Theorem). Motivated essentially by some recent works by M. Garg and S. Mittal (see, for example, [South East Asian J. Math. Math. Sci. 1 (2) (2003), 85–95]), we evaluate several general families of definite integrals involving functions of one and more complex variables, some of which are then applied to derive the corresponding results associated with the generalized hypergeometric function pFq and the Fox-Wright further generalizations denoted by p[수식]q and p[수식]q . An integral formula considered recently by R. P. Agarwal [Resonance of Ramanujan’s Mathematics, Vol. I, New Age International Publishers Limited, New Delhi, 1996], which is closely associated with the aforementioned Ramanujan’s result, is also corrected and modified here appropriately.

The experiment was conducted to study the comparative pathology of hemic system among three different broiler chicken strains i.e. Hubbard (H), Lohmann (L) and Indian River (IR) suffering from experimentally induced Hydropericardium Syndrome (HPS). For this 50 chicks of each strain were inoculated with HPS inoculum at the age of 21 days and other 50 chicks of each broiler strain were kept as uninoculated control. After slaughtering each bird of both groups was subjected to pathological examination of heart, spleen and aorta and also for determining routine haematological parameters. The maximum values of Total Erythrocyte Count (TEC), heterophils and thrombocytes and the minimum values of Total Leukocyte Count (TLC) and Hemoglobin (Hb) content were found in H broiler strain. Percentage of monocytes, basophils and eosinophils also showed maximum decrease in H broiler chicken strain. Gross pathological lesions in the inoculated birds revealed that the heart showed ballooning due to distention of pericardial sac with pericardial fluid. Haemorrhages on the epicardium and flabbiness of the myocardium. Under the microscope, degenerative changes in myocardial tissue were seen. Lesions in the spleen included splenomegaly and haemorrhagic spots. Aorta showed flabbiness of the wall and disruption of endothelium. It is concluded that there is a marked difference in susceptibility of HPS among three different commercial broiler strains. The Hubbard broiler strain is more susceptible which is followed by the Indian River and Lohmann respectively.
Some summation and Laplace transformation formulas for the Gauss hypergeometric series
H. M. Srivastava,M. I. Qureshi,Chaudhary Wali Mohammad,M. S. Baboo 장전수학회 2016 Advanced Studies in Contemporary Mathematics Vol.26 No.1
The authors derive a family of three summation formulas for the Gauss hypergeometric series 2F1 and show how their summation formulas would provide the correct forms of some erroneous hypergeometric summation theorems recorded by Prudnikov et al. [3]. By means of the correct forms of these summation theorems, the Laplace transforms of Kummer’s confluent hypergeometric function 1F1 are also presented in closed forms.

Genetic polymorphisms in homologous recombination repair genes cause an abnormal development of cancerous cells. In the present study we evaluated the possibility of breast cancer association with single nucleotide polymorphisms of RAD51, XRCC2 and XRCC3 genes. Polymorphisms selected in this study were RAD51 135G/C, XRCC2 Arg188His; and XRCC3 Thr241Met. Each polymorphism was genotyped using Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism in study cohort of 306 females (156 breast cancer patients and 150 controls). We observed that heterozygous variant genotype (GC) of RAD51 135 G/C polymorphism was associated with a significantly (OR=2.70; 95%CI (0.63-1.79); p<0.03) increased risk of breast cancer. In case of the XRCC3 gene we observed that frequency of heterozygous (OR=2.88; 95%CI (1.02-8.14); p<0.02) and homozygous (OR=1.46; 95%CI (0.89-2.40); p<0.04) genotype of Thr241Met polymorphism were significantly higher in breast cancer patients. For the Arg188His polymorphism of XRCC2, ~2fold increase in breast cancer risk (OR=1.6, 95%CI = 0.73-3.50) was associated with GA genotype with a p value for trend of 0.03. Our results suggest that the 135G/C polymorphism of the RAD51, Thr241Met polymorphism of XRCC3 and Arg188His polymorphism of XRCC2 can be independent markers of breast cancer risk in Pakistan.
SOME MODIFIED REDUCTION FORMULAS FOR THE GAUSS AND CLAUSEN HYPERGEOMETRIC FUNCTIONS
H. M. Srivastava,M. I. QURESHI,SHAKIR HUSSAIN MALIK 장전수학회 2021 Proceedings of the Jangjeon mathematical society Vol.24 No.3
In this paper, by using the series rearrangement technique, we derive closed forms of some reduction formulas for the following two Clausen hypergeo- metric functions: and. We also obtain some reduction formulas of the following four Gauss hypergeometric functions: and. Several appropriately modied forms of a known reduction formula for the Clausen hypergeometric function are also appropriately derived here.
Analysis of weld-induced residual stresses and distortions in thin-walled cylinders
Naeem Ullah Dar,Ejaz M. Qureshi,M.M.I Hammouda 대한기계학회 2009 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.23 No.4
Circumferential weld specifically in thin-walled structures is a common joint type in the fabrication of structural members in aerospace, aeronautical and pressure vessel industries. This type of weld joint suffers various types of weld-induced residual stress fields (hoop and axial) and deformation patterns (axial shrinkage, radial shrinkage). These imperfections have negative effects on fabrication accuracies and result in low strength welded structures that can lead to premature failures. To precisely capture the distortions and residual stresses, computational methodology based on three-dimensional finite element model for the simulation of gas tungsten arc welding in thin-walled cylinders is presented. Butt-weld geometry with single "V" for a 300 mm outer diameter cylinder of 3 mm thick is used. The complex phenomenon of arc welding is numerically solved by sequentially coupled transient, non-linear thermo-mechanical analysis. The accuracy of both the thermal and structural models is validated through experiments for temperature distribution, residual stresses and distortion. The simulated result shows close correlation with the experimental measurements.
