A Theoretical Approach towards Data Preprocessing Techniques in Data Mining – A Survey
Lilly Florence M,Swamydoss D 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.9 No.11
Nowadays, a huge amount of data is stored in system from web, mobile, social media, and health centre or from any production company. Unfortunately these data cannot be used as it is. For knowledge discovery, we must use the quality input. To convert this data into quality input, we have many algorithms and methods in data mining. The preprocessing techniques are used for convert the noise data into quality data. So preprocessing steps are the most important steps in data mining. This paper presents all data preprocessing methods. Here the authors describes the four main process namely data cleaning, data integration, data reduction and data transformation.

Dynamic self-assembled structures of nanoparticles can be produced using predominantly electrostatic interactions. Such assemblies were made from large, positively charged Au metal nanoparticles surrounded by an electrostatically bound cloud of smaller, negatively charged CdSe/ZnS or CdTe quantum dots. At low concentrations they are topologically similar to double electric layers of ions and corona-like assemblies linked by polymer chains. They can also be compared to the topological arrangement of some planetary systems in space. The great advantages of the cloud assemblies are (1) their highly dynamic nature compared to more rigid covalently bound assemblies, (2) simplicity of preparation, and (3) exceptional versatility in components and resulting optical properties. Photoluminescence intensity enhancement originating from quantum resonance between excitons and plasmons was observed for CdSe/ZnS quantum dots, although CdTe dots displayed emission quenching. To evaluate more attentively their dynamic behavior, emission data were collected for the cloud-assemblies with different ratios of the components and ionic strengths of the media. The emission of the system passes through a maximum for 80 QDs ∶ 1 Au NP as determined by the structure of the assemblies and light absorption conditions. Ionic strength dependence of luminescence intensity contradicts the predictions based on the Gouy–Chapman theory and osmotic pressure at high ionic strengths due to formation of larger chaotic colloidally stable assemblies. “Cloud” assemblies made from different nanoscale components can be used both for elucidation of most fundamental aspects of nanoparticle interactions, as well as for practical purposes in sensing and biology.

Graphic Abstract

This paper examines plasmon/exciton coupling and subsequent photoluminescent enhancement that results from the electrostatic interaction of Au NPs and CdSe/ZnS QDs.

Predictors of Obesity and Physical Health Complaints Among 911 Telecommunicators

Background: This study aims to: (1) examine rates of obesity and physical health complaints among 911 telecommunicators; and (2) document the role of emotion dysregulation, psychological inflexibility, duty-related distress and dissociation, and psychopathology in predicting obesity and physical health complaints in this population. Methods: The sample consisted of 911 telecommunicators from across the country (N = 758). Participants completed an online survey assessing their mental and physical health functioning. Results: A total of 82.5% of the sample reported a body mass index that fell within the overweight or obese category and an average of 17 physical health complaints within the past month. Peritraumatic reactions (distress and dissociation), emotion dysregulation, and psychological inflexibility had effects on physical health largely through psychopathology (alcohol abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression). Conclusion: Development of adapted prevention and intervention efforts with this population is needed.

Self-healing materials heal partially or completely when damage occurs to restore the functionality of the material. Self-healing technology has found its applications in sensors, supercapacitors, solar cells, fabrics etc. Self-healing GFRP specimens were fabricated by embedding microcapsules filled with dicyclopentadiene monomer in glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin. Drilling experiments were conducted on self-healing GFRP panels comprised of varied quantities and sizes of microcapsules under different drilling conditions to find the effect of adding microcapsules in the material on the drilling characteristics. Thrust force and temperature variations during drilling were studied, and it was found that that the microcapsule concentration in the composite had marked effect on both the measured outputs. Genetic multiobjective optimization was employed to obtain the optimum pareto values to determine the optimum thrust and temperature.
Interdisciplinary Knowledge for Teaching: A Model for Epistemic Support in Elementary Classrooms
( Sarah Lilly ),( Jennifer L. Chiu ),( Kevin W. Mcelhaney ) 한국수학교육학회 2021 수학교육연구 Vol.24 No.3
Research and national standards, such as the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in the United States, promote the development and implementation of K-12 interdisciplinary curricula integrating the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and computer science (STEM+CS). However, little research has explored how teachers provide epistemic support in interdisciplinary contexts or the factors that inform teachers’ epistemic support in STEM+CS activities. The goal of this paper is to articulate how interdisciplinary instruction complicates epistemic knowledge and resources needed for teachers’ instructional decision-making. Toward these ends, this paper builds upon existing models of teachers’ instructional decision-making in individual STEM+CS disciplines to highlight specific challenges and opportunities of interdisciplinary approaches on classroom epistemic supports. First, we offer considerations as to how teachers can provide epistemic support for students to engage in disciplinary practices across mathematics, science, engineering, and computer science. We then support these considerations using examples from our studies in elementary classrooms using integrated STEM+CS curriculum materials. We focus on an elementary school context, as elementary teachers necessarily integrate disciplines as part of their teaching practice when enacting NGSS-aligned curricula. Further, we argue that as STEM+CS interdisciplinary curricula in the form of NGSS-aligned, project-based units become more prevalent in elementary settings, careful attention and support needs to be given to help teachers not only engage their students in disciplinary practices across STEM+CS disciplines, but also to understand why and how these disciplinary practices should be used. Implications include recommendations for the design of professional learning experiences and curriculum materials.

Sulfonated poly(fluorenyl ether sulfone) (PFES) with a terminally-crosslinked network structure was prepared by heat-induced crosslinking of the allyl-terminated telechelic sulfone polymers using a bisazide. The crosslinked polymer membrane with a sulfofluorenyl moiety of 70% (PFES-70) showed excellent hydrolytic, dimensional, and mechanical stability. The crosslinked PFES-70 membrane revealed a proton conductivity of 0.04S/cm at 20 oC, which increased significantly with increasing temperature. The conductivity of 0.38 S/cm at 100 oC for PFES-70 was higher than that of both non-crosslinked (0.33 S/cm) and Nafion® (0.17 S/cm). In addition, the crosslinked PFES-70 showed a methanol permeability of only 1.4% (3.9×10-8 cm2 /s) compared to Nafion®.

The synthesis and properties of a solvent-free gel polymer electrolyte based on an imidazolium-poly(ethyleneoxide) (PEO)-based ionene electrolyte, a poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF(HFP)) support, andthe lithium bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl) imide (LiTFSI) salt are reported. A ternary gel polymer electrolyte film, produced from mixtures of the imidazolium-PEO-based ionene ([IPI][Br]), PVDF(HFP), and LiTFSI, displayedgood thermal and mechanical stability. A very high room temperature conductivity of 2.6×10-3 S/cm and a broadelectrochemical stability window were obtained, demonstrating the utility of the electrolyte for practical Li-ion battery applications.
