        miRNA- 125b Signaling Ameliorates Liver Injury Against Obstructive Jaundice-Induced Excessive Fibrosis in Experimental Rats

        Purpose: Multiple pathways are involved in inducing liver fibrosis, which can damage the integrity of liver. Among them, miR-125b has been found to exert an activating action on hepatic stellate cells. Endoplasmic reticulum stress and autophagy lead toliver disorders. Here, we evaluated the therapeutic influence of miR-125b on the endoplasmic reticulum function in injured liverssubmitted to bile duct ligation. Materials and Methods: For inducing injury, bile duct ligation was done on miR-125b transgenic rats (miR-125b-Tg) in wild typerats. The rat T-6 cells received transfection of miR-125b mimic and Tunicamycin. Protein expressions were observed by westernblot analysis. Results: Compared to wild type rats, liver-injured rats showed significant impairment of liver function as assessed by the total bilirubinlevels. The miR-125b-Tg rats showed decrease in activity of aspartate transaminase and alanine transaminase. Liver tissuesof miR-125b-Tg rats showed weaker fibrotic matrix formation. Upregulation of miR-125b decreased the bile duct ligation-mediatedhepatic disturbances for the expressions of endoplasmic reticulum kinase, inositol-requiring kinase 1alpha, sXBP1, CHOP, LC3,p62, ULK, and caspase-3/-8/-9. T-6 cells transfected with miR-125b mimic and treated with Tunicamycin caused decrease in levelsof cleaved caspase-3, sXBP1, CHOP, and LC3. The miR-125b signaling showed protective effect on the liver tissues subjected to injuryand fibrosis histopathology. Conclusion: This study demonstrates a novel insight into the miR125b-mediated stabilization of endoplasmic reticulum integrity,which slows the progression of injury-induced hepatic deterioration.

      • The Influence Analysis of Hamilton Chaos Phase Trajectory in Additive White Noise Channel

        Previously a novel chaos M-ary modulation and demodulation method based on spatiotemporal chaos Hamilton oscillator was proposed and is applied in M-ary communication. Without chaos synchronization circumstance, the performance of communication has been improved in bandwidth efficiency, transmission efficiency and anti-white- noise performance compared with traditional communication method. Due to the working performance of zone partition demodulator is strictly connected with channel noise, it is necessary to study the influence of Hamilton phase trajectory deeply by the channel noise. In this paper, two methods for designing of the boundary of zone partition demodulator in additive white Gaussian noise are discussed, which are using statistics and curve fitting ways. Therefore, the problem about how to determine the boundary of zone partition demodulator in white noise is solved. Finally, the chaos M-ary communication system based on Hamilton oscillator is constructed and simulated in white noise channel. The result shows that the method proposed in this paper can improve the anti-white-noise performance of the whole communication system.

      • The Design of Chaos M-ary Communication Demodulator Based on Hamilton Oscillator

        Previously a novel chaos M-ary digital communication method based on spatiotemporal chaos Hamilton oscillator has been proposed. Without chaos synchronization circumstance, It has performance improvement in bandwidth efficiency, transmission efficiency and anti-white- noise performance compared with traditional communication method. In this paper, the formula for the design of the boundary of zone dividing demodulator in additive white Gaussian noise is derived, besides, the problem about how to determine the boundary of zone dividing demodulator in additive colored noise is deeply studied; Then a solution to construct anti-colored-noise chaos M-ary communication system is proposed, in which a pre-distortion filter is added after the chaos baseband modulator in the transmitter and whitening filter is added before zone dividing demodulator in the receiver. Finally, the chaos M-ary communication system based on Hamilton oscillator is constructed and simulated in different channel noise. The result shows that the proposed method in this paper can improve the anti-colored-noise performance of the whole communication system.

        Preparation and Adsorption Properties of PA6/PSMA-OA Molecularly Imprinted Composite Membranes in Supercritical CO<sub>2</sub>

        Oleanolic acid (OA) as template molecule, polyamide-6 (PA6) as basement membrane and poly(styrene-comaleic acid) (PSMA) were used to prepare PA6/PSMA-OA molecularly imprinted composite membranes by phase inversion method in supercritical $CO_2$ ($ScCO_2$). The template molecule (OA), [poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (PSMAH), PSMA, molecularly imprinted membranes (MIMs) imprinting OA and MIMs after elution were all characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The conditions that were the mass ratio between PSMA and OA from 3:1 to 8:1, temperature of $ScCO_2$ from $35^{\circ}C$ to $50^{\circ}C$ and pressure of $ScCO_2$ 12 MPa to 17 MPa were studied. It was obtained the largest adsorption rate and purity of OA after adsorption of the resultant MIMs, 50.41% and 96.15% respectively. After using PA6 film and non-woven fabrics as basement membrane respectively, it was found that smaller aperture of PA6 was used as basement membrane, a higher adsorption rate and a higher purity of OA after adsorption of the MIMs were obtained, and so were the stability and reproducibility of the resultant MIMs. After template molecules being removed, the MIMs had effective selectivity hydrogen bonding to separately bind in the binary components to the template molecules-oleanolic acid.

        FRChain: A Blockchain-based Flow-Rules-oriented Data Forwarding Security Scheme in SDN

        As the next-generation network architecture, software-defined networking (SDN) has great potential. But how to forward data packets safely is a big challenge today. In SDN, packets are transferred according to flow rules which are made and delivered by the controller. Once flow rules are modified, the packets might be redirected or dropped. According to related research, we believe that the key to forward data flows safely is keeping the consistency of flow rules. However, existing solutions place little emphasis on the safety of flow rules. After summarizing the shortcomings of the existing solutions, we propose FRChain to ensure the security of SDN data forwarding. FRChain is a novel scheme that uses blockchain to secure flow rules in SDN and to detect compromised nodes in the network when the proportion of malicious nodes is less than one-third. The scheme places the flow strategies into blockchain in form of transactions. Once an unmatched flow rule is detected, the system will issue the problem by initiating a vote and possible attacks will be deduced based on the results. To simulate the scheme, we utilize BigchainDB, which has good performance in data processing, to handle transactions. The experimental results show that the scheme is feasible, and the additional overhead for network performance and system performance is less than similar solutions. Overall, FRChain can detect suspicious behaviors and deduce malicious nodes to keep the consistency of flow rules in SDN.

        Intraguild interference of spiders and ladybirds in a cotton field: Evidence from their active time and aphid control efficiency

        In field crop systems, biocontrol efficiency supported by various predators is not always enhanced with occurring simultaneously but can be reduced by predator interference, i.e., competition between predator individuals over access to their prey. Such interference may be related to the active time of each predator. In this study, predator exclusion experiments were used to selectively exclude either one or both predators and to examine the impact of the two predator groups on the suppression of cotton aphid (Aphis gossypii Glover) populations in a cotton field. Main predator species included Propylaea japonica (Thunberg) and Harmonia axyridis Pallas in the ladybird group, and Lycosa spp. and Erigone spp in the spider group. A greater number of spiders was observed in the morning and evening, while ladybird densities did not vary during the day. Removing all predators led to an increase in aphid numbers compared to the other treatments where predators were present. Removing either spiders or ladybirds had similar impacts on aphid control. It is likely that spiders provide an equal level of aphid mortality as ladybirds. When both spiders and ladybirds were present, aphid abundance did not differ from those treatments where only one predator group was present. The presence of both predators did not lead to more aphid suppression, indicating that interference between these predators may have occurred in the cotton field. Although these two predators partly diverged in their activity rhythms, interference may still have occurred and could be common in cotton fields.

        Comparison of the flight ability of diapausing and post-diapause Osmia excavata Alfken (Hymenoptera: Megachilidae) at different temperatures

        The solitary mason bee Osmia excavata Alfken (Hymenoptera: Megachilidae) is an important pollinator of fruit trees in northern China. This stduy compared and studied the flight ability of O. excavata at different temper atures both during and post diapause, with the aim of exploring the feasibility of using O. excavata prematurely released from diapause for pollination. The flight capacity of male and female O. excavata during diapause and post diapause was measured at 3 ◦ C intervals from 10 to 31 ◦ C by using a computer-monitored flight-mill system. The results showed that as the temperature increased, the flight ability also increased until an optimal tem perature was reached, whereupon it gradually decreased regardless of the further increase in temperature. Temperature had a highly significant impact on flight ability (P < 0.01), whereas gender only had a significant effect on average flight distance (P = 0.034). Diapause status had significant effects on average flight distance, average flight speed and maximum flight speed, and the interaction between diapause and temperature had a highly significant impact on average flight distance and average flight speed (P < 0.01). Post diapause, the flying ability of bees was significantly improved; however, diapausing O. excavata demonstrated a sufficient flying ability and so could be used as auxiliary pollinators for fruits in greenhouses during winter and early spring, when there is a shortage of pollinators.
