Chromogranin A (CgA), which is an intrinsically disordered protein that belongs to the granin family, was first discovered in the bovine adrenal medulla, and later identified in various organs. Under certain physiological conditions, CgA is cleaved into functionally diverse peptides, such as vasostatin-1, pancreastatin, and catestatin. In this review, we first describe the historical and systematic challenges for elucidating the molecular structures of CgA and its derived peptides and give a perspective of utilizing emerging techniques through integrative approaches. Subsequently, we review specific biological processes associated with CgA and its derived peptides in the neuroendocrine, immune, and digestive systems. Finally, we discuss biomedical applications of CgA as a biomarker, suggesting future directions toward translational and precision medicine.

In the present work the second-order perturbation solutions of the simple physical model for liquid pool spreading are obtained for the case of continuous spill. To generalize the solution governing equations are non-dimensionalized and major dimensionless variables are identified. The second-order solutions improve the first-order solution for the pool volume.

증발하면서 원형으로 퍼져가고 있는 액체에 대한 모델을 지배하는 연립 상미분 방정식은 지금까지 수치해석적인 방법으로 풀어 왔는데 본 연구에서 섭동해를 최초로 구하였다. 액체의 순간적인 누출과 연속적인 누출에 대하여 섭동 변수로써 단위면적 당 증발률을 사용하여 1차항까지 섭동해를 구하였다. 1차 섭동해의 계산 결과 풀의 부피에 대하여 초기에는 수치해와 잘 일치 하였으나 후기에는 약간의 차이가 존재하였으며 풀의 반경에 대하여는 두가지 종류의 해가 거의 일치 하였다. We solve the simple physical model for liquid pool spreading with vaporization semi-analytically for the first time, using perturbation techniques. The results are compared with those obtained using numerical methods. We use the evaporation rate per unit area as a perturbation parameter, and first-order solutions are obtained for continuous and instantaneous release. The two solutions are nearly identical with respect to the pool radius. The pool volumes are nearly the same at the early stage of the spread and then start to diverge.

Porcine brain glutamate decarboxylase interacts with derivatized phopholipid fluoreceine-dtpahtdtoyl-phosphatldyl ethanolamine (FL-DPPE). Upon addition of the enzyme to FL-DPPE, an increase in fluordcence intensity is discernible, together with an increase in emission anisotropy. Judging from anisotropy values, FL-DPPE is rapidly trapped by the protein matrix The binding of FL-DPPE to glutamate decacboxylese on of the dimeric enzyme into polymeric species. It appears that 2.2 moi of FL-DPPE ate bound per protein molecule, as determined by a study of fluorescence quenching. A quenching bimolecular rate constant of 1.1 × 10^9M^(-1)·S% was obtained from a Stem-Volmer plot. These results suggest that fatty add tails sense as anchoring sites for the protein dimers, whereas the fluorescent probe covalently bound to the hydrophilic head of the phospholipid, remains accessible to the collisional quencher.

This study analyzes the cool-down process of liquid hydrogen storage tanks, which have advantages in terms of large-capacity transfer, storage, and utilization as hydrogen demand increases. A hydrogen liquefaction plant is selected for analysis and an efficient tank cooling method is sought by comparing the time required for the cool-down process with the gas consumption in connection with the gassing-up process required for the operation of the liquid hydrogen storage tank. The results of this study can be referred to in the operation process after the initial start-up and maintenance of the hydrogen liquefaction plant.

In this paper, a 2.4GHz CMOS RF transceiver design for BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) application is presented. The fully-differential RF transceiver is compliant with Bluetooth core specification v5.0. The transceiver is comprised of low-IF receiver and zero-IF transmitter. The overall DC current consumption for continuous Tx transmission at +0dBm output power is 12mA and for continuous Rx reception at –90dBm sensitivity is 13mA. The transceiver is fabricated in 90nm CMOS process and total die size is 5.74mm2 including baseband modem and electrostatic discharge I/O pads.

We have isolated and characterized a genomic clone encoding the Drosophila melanogaster transcription factor IIB (TFIiB). The coding region of the TFIIB gene is interrupted by three short introns. The 5 -flanking region of the gene lacks the typical TATA box sequence like those of other known genes encoding the general transcription factors. In addition, the 5 -flanking region of the gene contains several common DNA sequences present in Drosophila TBP and THIS genes, suggesting the common regulation mechanism of gene expression. RNA blot analysis revealed that the gene expresses 1.6 kb, 1.3 kb and 1.2 kb mRNAs throughout development and in adults. Deletion analysis of the promoter region shows that the minimal promoter necessary for efficient expression is located between -698 (Psti) and f 6 0 relative to the transcription start point. Within this minimal promoter region, the upstream regulatory element responsible for the stimulation of gene expression may exist in the DNA fragment between - 698 (PstI) and - 351 (StuI).
