Chunpoong is one of the most valuable cultivars of Panax ginseng C. A. MEYER, and is widely grown in Korea and China. Insertion/deletion (InDel) markers and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers are useful tools for marker-assisted selections. The SNP marker for determinate Chunpoong was previously developed from the nad7 gene of mtDNA by Wang et al. (2009) but was effective only on a limited range of cultivars. In this study, we studied the reasons for this limited application and developed new useful markers for application in Chunpoong-breeding programs. The new markers of InDel and SNP were designed in the major latex-like protein (MLP-like) gene which was highly expressed in 4-year-old Chunpoong expressed sequence tags (ESTs). To validate the marker in polymerase chain reaction (PCR), we used an InDel marker for identification of Chunpoong in the 70 Panax samples based on a double-blind test, and the success rate was 100%. For rapid and reliable assay of Chunpoong in numerous samples, we utilized an EvaGreen dye and melting curve method on real-time PCR. Furthermore, we designed an SNP marker that depended on the InDel region for more efficient detection of Chunpoong in real-time PCR. Compared with PCR-based assays, our Chunpoong SNP marker and real-time PCR assay offers a significant savings of time and labor in the analysis of large numbers of Chunpoong samples.

인삼(Panax ginseng C.A.
2003 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.27 No.2
To develop a new ginseng variety with good quality and high yielding, a lot of individual ginseng plant were selected in the farmers' fields in 1968. Among them, a promising line, 680-83-4, has been developed through comparative cultivation of several lines selected with pure line separation from local races in KT&G Central Research Institute, preliminary and advanced yield trials were performed for 8 years. 680-83-4 was designated as KG103, which was then registered as a new variety “Gopoong” with the regional yield and adaptation trials for 10 years (1981-1990) on December
27, 2000 in Korea. Gopoong has different phenotype of a dark violet stem and dark red fruit and inverted triangle shape of berries cluster as compared with other varieties. Taproot of Gopoong was longer than local race Jakyungjong, and root yield was 4.5% higher than local race Jakyungjong. In red ginseng quality, the rates of Chun-Jeesam grade(Chun and Jee means 1st and 2nd grade, respectively) were 16.6% and 9.4% for Gopoong and Jakyungjong, respectively. In these results, it was that Gopoong was superior ginseng line with good quality for manufacture of red ginseng.

혼합치열기 Ⅱ급 부정교합에 대한 high pull Headgear의 효과
정규림,권순용 대한치과교정학회 1994 대한치과교정학회지 Vol.24 No.3
The purpose of this study is to observe the effect of high pull headgear on the craniofacial structures of mixed dentition with Class Ⅱ malocclusion. The cephalometric headplates of 16 children treated by high pull headgeaar during 6 months and 18 children during 12 months were traced, digitized and statistically analyzed. The results were as follows. 1. Inhibition of foreward growth of maxilla was observed in both group. 2. Clockwise rotation of maxilla was observed in both group. 3. There were distal movement of maxillary 1st molar and inhibition of alveolar bone growth of maxilla. 4. There was compensatory extrusion on mandibular 1st molar. 5. The ratio of anterior facial height to posterior facial height was almostly not changed. In the treatment plan of C Ⅱ malocclusion by high pull headgear, we must prevent the mandibulasr 1st molar from extruding, and for orthopedic effect, at least 6 months is needed.
