Even though 12Cr alloy steel can be different in alloy composition and crystal structure according to the manufactures, it was found that more than 60% of damages were occurred at the condition alternatively repeated wet and dry and condensed vapor at low pressure. And also, it has been well known that both the mechanical properties and the influence of corrosion environments on strength of the 12Cr alloy steel change by its crystal structure. However, in spite of these common facts, it is difficult to find out the quantitative results including the particular environmental condition as well as the actual service conditions. In this study, as a fundamental investigation for providing information to design and to asses integrity of the 12Cr alloy steel, electro-chemical corrosion susceptibility and corrosion rate of the steam turbine bucket material of which its grain size is different was assessed under NaCl solution at 90℃.

This paper attempts to find a linking point between two quite disparate academic disciplines-literary studies and organizational culture studies in management. First, it emphasizes that the era of literary realism and naturalism coincides with the rise of Big Business. The corporations were creating their own distinct organizational culture, and unprecedentedly many of Americans were absorbed into it as the corporate jobs increased greatly. Therefore it is highly probable such changes-particularly the changes inside the organizations-were reflected in their works. This paper presents two streams of the research on corporate culture: one by social scientists and the other by the scholars in organizational studies. It emphasizes that, though their motivations were to improve business organizations’ performance, they also need to define what culture in organizational settings is in order to understand organizational culture. Finally, this paper suggests that Schein’s model may be used in literary studies.
A New Approach to New Business Novels: An Experiment with The Goal
Kwangjin Lee 한국현대영미소설학회 2017 현대영미소설 Vol.24 No.3
From the 1980s, a new kind of business novels has been published. Different from the previous business novels which are focused on the main characters of businessmen, the new novels are mainly for teaching readers management principles effectively. This paper test if literary scholars may contribute to the more effective teaching of the readers by providing them with fresh perspectives that not only readers but also authors fail to have. For the test, it analyzes Eliyahu M. Goldratt and Jeff Cox’s The Goal, the first novel among new business novels using theories of organizational cultures. The analyses of characters and events reveal that the management principles which are the central message of the novel are based on a certain organizational culture whose characteristics are quite different from that to which Alex Rogo, the protagonist and plant manager, and his staff are accustomed. Particularly, this paper points out that the conflicts described in the novel are mainly in the categories of the specific/context and the individualism/collectivism. This finding will help people to implement the principles with greater success, and diverse approaches-more literary than that of this paper-may help business in various ways.
American Dream and New Management in Alfred P. Sloan’s Adventures of a White-Collar Man
( Kwangjin Lee ) 서울대학교 미국학연구소 2017 미국학 Vol.40 No.2
This paper analyzes Alfred P. Sloan, Jr.’s Adventures of a White-Collar Man published in 1941. It attempts to find the reason that he wrote the book then. Sloan explicitly insists that the prosperous American society was possible thanks to the adventurers in engineering and business. This paper interprets that he intended to remind the readers that the American Dream were still valid and alive. More importantly, this paper points out that more significant aspects of this book is that it shows the rise of new era in business management. Due to the complexity and the size of the companies, Sloan found totally new and effective principles and successfully applied them to General Motors. The new management that he used became a standard ever since. Therefore Sloan can be seen as a demarcation of a new era in American history.

It is essential to save limited server bandwidth when serving large asynchronous requests of Video-on-Demand (VoD) service. To resolve this issue, this letter proposes a novel video transmission scheme that minimizes the required server bandwidth with zero start-up delay. This proposed scheme combines unicast with three periodic broadcasts: staggered broadcast, fast broadcast, and harmonic broadcast by analyzing average server bandwidth consumption models. The combining method and the periodicity of broadcast are determined based upon the video request rate and video length. Performance evaluation results show that the proposed scheme consumed minimal server bandwidth compared with the schemes that combine unicast with only one periodic broadcast.

Fast Available Bandwidth Estimation Algorithm Using Active Measurement
Kwangjin Choi,Seong Gon Choi,Jun Kyun Choi 대한전자공학회 2007 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2007 No.7
This paper considers the available bandwidth estimation at the network layer. Proposed algorithm is based on the feature of one-way packet delay and proportional share of link capacity. We show our method is more accurate and faster than other method.
