셀레늄의 엽면시비가 총체보리의 생육 및 셀레늄 흡수에 미치는 영향

겨울철 사료 작물인 청보리을 대상으로 국내 토양의 특성상 부족하기 쉬운 셀레늄을 엽면시비하여 청보리의 생육 및 사료가치와 셀레늄 함량 등을 조사하였고, 청보리 품종별 셀레늄 흡수능의 차이를 알아보았다. 셀레늄을 4월 중순에 50에서 400ppm까지 농도를 높여 엽면시비한 결과 출수기 등 생육이나 수량, 사료가치에는 대조구와 유의한 차이가 없었다.셀레늄 화합물에 따라 식물체에 흡수되는 정도가 달랐는데 농도를 달리하여 처리하였을 때 selenite 시험구에서는 건물내 셀레늄 함량이 0.12~0.28ppm이었으나 selenate 시험구에서는 0.33~3.43ppm 으로 selenate 형태의 셀레늄 화합물이 엽면시비에 더 적합한 것으로 조사되었다. selenate 수용액을 50g/ha의 농도로 엽면시비한 시험구의 수확 후 건물 내 셀레늄 함량은 0.34ppm으로 가축 사료의 적정 셀레늄 함량인 0.1~0.3ppm에 가장 근접하였다. 또한 청보리 품종에 따른 셀레늄 흡수능력 차이는 적은 것으로 조사돼 셀레늄이 강화된 청보리 생산을 위해서는 조사료생산량과 가축의 기호성 등을 고려하여 적정 품종을 선택하여 재배할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of foliar application type and dosage of selenium on the productivity, feed quality and selenium concentration of whole crop barley. Whole crop barley ‘Youngyang’ and other cultivars were applied selenium as foliar spray from two different selenium compounds(sodium selenite and sodium selenate) and at four different level, 50, 100, 200, 400 ppm at the stem elongation stage(the middle of April). The forage productivity and feeding quality of ‘Youngyang’ was not affected by selenium types and dosage. Selenium content in dry matter was 3~10 times higher when Se was applied in the form of sodium selenate than sodium selenite at the same selenium level and it shows the selenate form is more effective. When selenate 50 ppm was applied as foliar spray, selenium concentration in ‘Youngyang’ was 0.34 ppm and this is regarded the suitable treatment to satisfy the recommended selenium concentration(0.1~0.3 Se mg/Kg) in animal feed. The absorption of Se among whole crop barley varieties were not different and ‘Youngyang’, ‘Yuyeon’, ‘Uho’, ‘Yuho’ are recommended for selenium enriched whole corp barley because of their stable productivity and higher palatability.
평등전계에서 SF?와 건조공기(Dry-Air)의 압력별에 따른 절연특성 연구

본 연구는 현재 전력설비에 사용되고 있는 SF?가스의 대체 절연가스로 건조공기(Dry-Air)의 절연파괴특성 연구를 위하여 모의 GIS 챔버와 AC 300[㎸], DC(-) l50[㎸] 전원장치로 교류 및 직류고전압을 인가하여 연구를 수행하였다. 평등전계인 구전극 대 구전극을 이용하여 SF?가스와 건조공기(Dry-Air)의 절연내력을 비교하기 위해서 20, 30 및 4O[N/㎠]까지 가스의 압력변화를 주었고 각 압력별 전극간거리(d)에 따른 절연파괴전압(V<SUB>B</SUB>)을 연구하였다.

본 연구는 SF?를 대체하기 위한 건조공기(Dry-Air)의 특성을 연구할 목적으로 교류 및 직류고전압 인가 시 압력(P)변화 및 캡 길이의 변화에 따른 절연파괴특성을 연구하였다. 본 연구를 통해 챔버 내의 P가 증가 할수록 절연파괴특성은 증가하는 것을 확인했다. 그리고 불평등전계 보다 평등전계에서 절연파괴특성이 더 증가하고 전극간거리(d)가 증가 할수록 절연파괴특성이 증가하는 것을 확인했다.
Acute oral toxicity of Dendropanax morbiferus H.Lév leaf extracts in ICR mice

In this study, the acute toxicity of Dendropanax morbiferus H.Lév leaf hot-water extracts (DMWE) was examined in male and female ICR mice. Mice were orally administered the DMWE at dose levels of 0, 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mg/kg body weight (BW) for single-dose toxicity test. There were no significant differences in change of BW between control and all DMWE treated-groups. In hematological and blood biochemical analysis, none of the parameters were affected by the DMWE. Similarly, there were no significant effects on markers for liver and kidney functions in all DMWE treated-groups. Since there were no adverse effects of the DMWE in single oral toxicity tests, even at the highest doses, it was concluded that the lethal dose 50 (LD50) of DMWE is estimated at > 2,000 mg/kg BW.

The protein identity of sarcosine-insoluble outer membrane proteins (OMPs) of Helicobacter pylori J99 was determined with the basic study of understanding the function of proteins. A sarcosine-insoluble OMPs was resolved by two-dimensional electrophoresis with immobilized pH gradient strips. The most abundant proteins were shown in the alkaline pI regions $(6.0{\sim}11.0)$ with molecular masses of 10 to 100kDa. We have performed an extensive proteome analysis by quadrupole time of flight (Q-TOF) mass spectrometry (MS). Here, of 50 spots processed, 42 spots were identified, which represented 16 genes and we newly detected 8 kinds of proteins (JHP0119, JHP0388, JHP1046, JHP1405, JHP0073, JHP0551, JHP1382, JHP0552) from the sarcosin-insoluble fraction of H. pylori J99. Those may be used to elucidate the characterization of the OMPs of H. pylori J99, which will help identify new potential target proteins for vaccine development and drug therapy.

제주 화산도는 주로 신생대 제 4 기 알카리 현무암류와 소량의 조면암질 용암으로 되어있다. 조면암질 용암은 산출상태와 암석 기재학적으로 남쪽 해안선을 따라 분포된 산방산 구룹과 한라산 정상부에 분포된 백록담 그룹으로 분류된다. 본 연구는 이들 조면암질 용암에 관한 고지자기학적 연구이다. 고지자기의 연구결과 산방산 그룹의 조면암류는 역자극기에 관입하였으며, 백록담 그룹의 조면암류중 영실과 천왕산의 조면암은 정자극기에 관입한 것으로 나타났고 백록담 조면암은 지자기의 excursion기에 관입한 것으로 사료되었다.

Recently, excavation of ancient pottery kiln of Koryo celadon of the Koryo dynasty have been continued since 1979 in Hang-dong, Daegu-myun, Gangjin-gun, Jeonnam Province, south-western part of Korea. The authers carried out an archeomagnetic study using the baked earth of the floors of the kiln, togimi and fabrics of rocks which were placed firmly on the floors of the kiln. These specimens were measured using the astatic magnetometer. The results of measurements are: declination, 0.3°W; inclination, 52.9°. Referring to the secular change curves drawn from the studies of the south-western Japan, the last period when the pottery kiln was fired finally is estimated to be around A.D. 1170. Many potsherds of Koryo celadon were excavated around the kiln. According to the shape of these potsherds, the age of the pottery kiln is estimated to be 10-12 C, which is consisted with this study.
Effect of the foliar application of selenium on selenium content of whole- crop barley

A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the varietal variation of Se concentration and to determine the effects of selenium foliar applications on the productivity and agronomic characteristics of the whole-crop barleys. Se fertilizer was foliar applied at five levels(0, 50, 100, 200, 400 ppm) and two forms (sodium selenite and sodium selenate solution) at stem elongation stage, the middle of April. Cultivar effects on whole-plant Se contents were small and not significant. Regardless treatments, there were no remarkable effects on dry matter yield and forage quality of whole crop barleys. Se contents of plant was higher in selenate application by 3~10 times than selenite. In selenate treatments, as Se levels were raised from 50 ppm to 400ppm the Se contents were increased from 331ppb to 3433ppb and Se contents were positively correlated with the rate of Se application levels. Selenium(Se) is an essential nutritional trace element, which is needed for growth and reproduction in all living animals. But the line between the requirement and harmfulness of Se is narrow since selenium is a highly toxic element. The level of Se in feeds of plant varies depending on plant species, growing season and soil which the plants grow on. Because of low concentration of Se in domestic soils, the selenium availability to plants is limited and it is necessary to supplement feed with selenium. Generally organic Se is less toxic and more efficiently utilized than inorganic Se. Under the condition that antibiotics use in feed are prohibited, selenium enriched whole-crop barley can be one way to improve animal health.
