        鹿児島県上・中甑島方言の形態音韻類型論

        KUROKI, Kunihiko. 2013. The Morpho-phonological Typology of Japanese Dialects Spoken on Kami- and Naka-koshiki Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture. Journal of International Studies 20. In this paper, I describe morpho-phonological features of Kami- and Naka-koshiki dialects to characterize them in Kyushu dialects. Based on the following morphophonological features, I classify them into (1) Sato type dialects (composed of dialects spoken by Sato people, Taira people, and descendants of Naka-koshikian Samurai), (2) seaward Naka-koshiki dialect, and (3) Segamidialect: (ⅰ) Phonetic correspondence (ⅱ) Phonemic system: (a) phonetic values of phonemes, (b) those of tai and dai, (c) the distinctiveness of Cj, (d) the distribution of liquid phoneme, (e) the phonotactic feature of /w/ (ⅲ) Morpho-phonological rules: (a) the morpho-phonological rule in allative enclitic phrases, (b) that in highlighting enclitic phrases, (c) the underlying form of the highlighting enclitic which attaches to a noun ending in diphthong, (d) the morpho-phonological rule in sandhi verbs, (e) that on a final syllable ru of conclusive-adnominal verbs Especially, Sato dialect and Segami dialect greatly differ for the above points. They are located on both ends of Kami- and Naka-koshiki dialects’ cline based on morpho-phonological features. Sea ward Naka-koshiki dialcet and Segami dialect coincide with each other in (iib, iiia, iiid), but differ for the other points. Therefore, I distinguished them.

        Development of Metal Recovery Process for Municipal Incineration Bottom Ash (MIBA)

        The utilization of incineration ash from municipal waste must be promoted to solve the social problem on the shortage of final disposal site. In this research, metals should be recovered to avoid the damage of the crushing machine during the utilization of incineration ash in cement industry. In fact, incineration bottom ash from municipal waste contains iron in 3-5%. Nonferrous metal and stainless steel in 1% is also included. The research and development on the physical recovery process was performed not only to remove the metals but also to recover high grade products. Metals were separated from incineration ash in Maruya Co. Ltd.. In fact, iron scrap recovered by magnetic separation can be selled. After that, mixed metal was separated from incineration ash using screen. In this research, mixed metal tried to divided copper, aluminum, brass and stainless steel using drum type magnetic separation, eddy current separation and high magnetic separation. As a result, recovered iron had an 80% for the grade. Aluminum was recovered by eddy current separation without copper and brass.

        Pharmacological Basis for the Neurocognitive Effect of Atypical Antipsychotic Drugs

        Cognitive impairment is a key feature of schizophrenia and may be the most important determinant of outcome in schizophrenia. Certain kinds of atypical antipsychotic drugs (APDs) have been reported to improve cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia, although little is known about the mechanism of this action. The aim of this paper is to consider the pharmacological basis for the superior efficacy of atypical APDs on cognitive function. In animal studies, atypical APDs have demonstrated to modulate dopamine (DA) and acetylcholine (Ach) neurotransmission preferentially in the cortical areas. Atypical APDs, unlike typical APDs,increase DA release in the prefrontal cortex to a greater extent than in the subcortical regions such as the striatum and nucleus accumbens, as measured by in vivo microdialysis. This preferential effect of atypical APDs may be related to their common receptor binding profiles such as greater affinities to serotonin (5-HT)2A receptors than DA-D2 receptors, in addition with significant ability to stimulate 5-HT1A receptors. Atypical APDs, but not typical APDs, also induce Ach release in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus. Despite antagonism by some atypical APDs to muscarinic Ach receptors, these drugs may counteract it with an increase in Ach release. Thus, the greater ability of atypical APDs than typical APDs to enhance the release of DA and Ach in the cortical regions may be related to the neurocognitive effect of atypical APDs that are thought to ameliorate the hypofrontality responsible for cognitive deficits of schizophrenia.

      • Steady-State Error Reduction by Digital Offset Control for Dc-to-dc Converters

        This paper presents a novel algorithm of a digital control that improves a steady-state error of a dc-to-dc switching converter. Instead of the conventional Integral control, the offset control is employed in which the base-duty-cycle of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is updated at constant intervals so that the error of the output voltage might become small. The principle of the proposed algorithm is described in detail. The implementation of the algorithm is very simple and the code size becomes small that yield the shortest execute time. Characteristics of the proposed controller are examined, and it is found that the controller has the same characteristics as the conventional integral control. As a result, the steady-state error has been reduced to almost zero.

      • Somatotopic distortion of tactile temporal interval estimation

        Tactile timing mechanism, which is essential for an accurate response to the external environment, has to com-pensate for the distortions of neural timing signals specifically, signals that comefrom distributed peripheral receptors and body parts, which move dynamically in space. Since an accurate visual timing encoding lack sprecision when two widely separated photo recept or sareused, we studied how tactile timing is encoded in relation to two distances-somatotopic rep-resentation, defined by cortical topography, and spatiotopic representation, defined in the physical world. We conducted one-second tactile-interval estimation experiments in which the spatial distances of the two stimuli were system atically manipulated in somatotopic and spatiotopic representations, and then, we compared the two. Our results showed that somatotopic nerve distance-and not real-world physical distance-plays a dominant role in tactile timing estimations.

        日本におけるコーポレート·ガバナンスの動向 : 韓國會社法との比較法的考察を中心として

        21世紀を迎え、韓國および日本は、世界の舞臺で、世界の企業と對等に競爭し、グローバルな資本市場で信賴されるようなコーポレート․ガバナンスを構築し、現在よりもさらに人類の幸福に貢獻しうるような企業を輩出できるかどうかが大きな課題になっている。 その意味で、昨年から今年における韓國および日本におけるあるべきコーポレート․ガバナンスを探求する試みはきわめて重要かつ喫緊の問題である。前述した韓國の企業支配構造改善委員會が作成した企業支配構造模範基準の前文は、その事の韓國の決意表明である。 明治期、大正期および昭和期にわたる傲慢な日本の侵略․植民地化という不幸な歷史を通して、韓國および日本は、會社法制において、きわめて類似した形態を取り續けてきた。また、日本法の影響も强く受けており、その解釋論や立法論も日本のあとを繼ぐような形で戰後も展開されてきた。しかし、今回の改革は日本に先驅けて勇氣ある一步を踏み出した感がある。IMFショックという外壓があるとはいえ、社外取締役制度、監査委員會、社外取締役候補推薦委員會の導入など、これほどまでのアメリカ法への傾斜は、日本の現狀からすると驚きにたえない。その意味で勇氣ある大きな一つの實驗に挑戰している姿に敬意を表し、日本も眞摯に受け止めるべきである。コーポレート․ガバナンスの分野でも韓國が日本を引っ張っていくことになるかもしれない。ともあれ、今後兩國はさらに友好關係を緊密にし、議論を共有し合い互いに良いものは學び合う關係を持續し合う事が重要であろう。

        Estimation of Additive and Dominance Genetic Variances in Line Breeding Swine

        Additive and dominance genetic variances were estimated for purebred Landrace selected with line breeding from 1989 to 1995 at Miyazaki Livestock Experiment Station, Kawaminami Branch. Ten body measurements, two reproductive traits and fifteen carcass traits were analyzed with single-trait mixed model analysis. The estimates of narrow-sense heritabilities by additive model were in the range of 0.07 to 0.46 for body measurements, 0.05 to 0.14 for reproductive traits, and 0.05 to 0.68 for carcass traits. The additive model tended to slightly overestimate the narrow-sense heritabilities as compared to the additive and dominance model. The proportion of the dominance variance to total genetic variance ranged from 0.11 to 0.91 for body measurements, 0.00 to 0.65 for reproductive traits, and 0.00 to 0.86 for carcass traits. Large differences among traits were found in the ratio of dominance to total genetic variance. These results suggested that dominance effect would affect the expression of all ten body measurements, one reproductive trait, and nine carcass traits. It is justified to consider the dominance effects in genetic evaluation of the selected lines for those traits.
