VALUE CO-CREATION AND WEALTH SPILLOVER IN OPEN INNOVATION ALLIANCES

Based on an event study approach, we investigate the economic and strategic value of open innovation alliances (OIAs), in which collaborators and competitors join together in the pursuit of the co-development of technological innovations. Unlike previous event studies in the IS field, this study not only assesses the wealth impact on the OIA-participating focal firm but also on the firm’s rivals. To gain additional insights into the factors that moderate the market valuation of OIA participation, several contextual factors, including the degree of partner heterogeneity, innovation type, and the degree of openness of the OIAs are used to account for variability in abnormal returns. We found that allying firms realize significant positive abnormal returns when their entry into an OIA is made public. The results also suggest that substantial excessive returns accrued to the allying firms with the belated entry of a large, established firm. A firm’s entry into an OIA increases, rather than decreases, the market valuation of its rival. Innovation type and openness were significantly associated with the amount of abnormal returns accruing to allying firms, while no significance was found for partner heterogeneity.

As the autonomous driving expands to complex road environment, the importance of collision avoidance is emerging across industries and academia, and its application for passenger cars has been actively studied. Because the dynamic characteristics of low-floor buses are different from those of passenger cars, it is necessary to develop a corresponding collision avoidance and path tracking algorithms. In this paper, a novel Pure-Pursuit controller and collision avoidance trajectory planner considering vehicle stability for buses are proposed. First, in order to compensate for the shortcomings of the geometry-based Pure-Pursuit controller, yaw rate gain and yaw rate response analyzed from the actual vehicle data are considered to improve the stability of the bus. In addition, the Conditional Integration-Proportion Integral (CI-PI) controller is designed to reduce the effect of disturbances. Secondly, the trajectory planner is developed taking into account not only the surrounding object information, but also the dynamic limitation of the bus. A group of trajectory candidates including dynamic relation of the lateral motion is generated that satisfies path stability with pole-zero analysis. Then, an optimal trajectory is selected through the cost function which reflects the dynamic constraints. Finally, stability and performance of the proposed controller are verified through simulations and field tests.

Electro-hydraulic brake system (EHB) provides improved braking and stability functions such as ABS, EBD, TCS, ESP, BA, ACC, etc. It also removes mechanical components for freedom of design, reduces maintenance requirements and system weight. But, the EHB system should be at least as reliable as the conventional hydraulic brake system. For this purpose, EHB system contains a hydraulic back-up for the brake function, and in the case of an electrical failure, this hydraulic back-up takes over to provide limited control of the braking. In this paper, the model-based fault diagnosis system is developed for monitor of the brake status based on the analytical redundancy method. The performance of the proposed model-based fault diagnosis system is verified in simulations and demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed system in various faulty cases.
마찰력 및 리플력 추정을 통한 X-Y 축 리니어 모터의 비선형 적응제어

The linear motors are easily affected by load disturbance, force ripple, friction, and parameter variations because there is no mechanical transmission to reduce the effects of model uncertainties and external disturbance. For high-speed/high-accuracy position control of a linear-motor-driven X-Y table, a nonlinear adaptive controller including a cross-coupling algorithm is designed in this paper, where the nonlinear effects such as friction and force ripple are estimated and compensated. A cross-coupling algorithm is adopted to reduce the contour error of the two-axial system. The proposed controller is evaluated through the computer simulations and its performance demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
개선된 교차축 연동제어기를 이용한 리니어 모터의 위치제어

리니어 모터는 동력전달장치가 필요 없는 직접구동 방식으로 접촉 식의 비선형 효과를 크게 줄일 수 있고 구조 또한 간단하다. 그러나 리니어 모터는 동력전달장치를 제거함으로 인해 파라미터 변화와 외란 등에 둔감한 동력전달장치의 장점을 잃게 되어 모델의 불확실성이나 외란에 민감할 뿐만 아니라 마찰과 리플의 특성에 쉽게 영향을 받는다. 본 논문은 리니어 모터의 두 축을 대상으로 위치제어에 악영향을 주는 대표적인 비선형 함수인 마찰력과 리플력을 추정하여 이를 보상하며 개선된 교차 축 연동제어기를 통해 축 간의 윤곽정밀도를 향상시켰다. 기존의 연구된 제어기들은 위치추종과 윤곽추종을 위해 개별적인 제어기를 설계하였으나 제안된 제어기는 하나의 안정한 제어기로 두축의 위치정밀도와 윤곽정밀도를 동시에 향상시켰다. 제안된 비선형 적응제어기는 모의실험을 통하여 기존의 제안된 교차 축 연동제어기와 비교검증을 함으로써 제안된 제어시스템의 성능을 검증하였다. The operation of this controller is based on a cross-coupling algorithm. Nonlinear effects such as friction and force ripples are estimated and compensated for. An enhanced cross-coupling algorithm is proposed for effectively improving the biaxial contour accuracy while achieving closed-loop stability. The proposed controller is evaluated by performing computer simulations.
