In this paper, the new implementation method of Parking Guide Line based on Xiaolin Wu[1] algorithm proposed. The proposed method not only can implement high quality Parking Guide Line image but also lower scale integration than other method. This method consists of straight line that has a thickness and two anti-aliasing straight line in High-Definition image size. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method reduces the aliasing artifact and hardware resources.
A rare complication: Tension pneumothorax after peroral endoscopic myotomy
Seokin Kang,Yuri Kim,Do Hoon Kim 소화기인터벤션의학회 2022 International journal of gastrointestinal interven Vol.11 No.3
Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) can be safely performed for achalasia. During POEM, gas is insufflated via the endoscope inside the submucosal tunnel. Gas-related complications often cannot be avoided because of the lack of serosa in the esophagus and the inability of the adventitia to function as a resistant barrier to gas. However, tension pneumothorax causing respiratory failure is a rare complication of POEM. Herein, we describe a 32-year-old female who developed tension pneumothorax after POEM. She showed respiratory compromise after POEM, and emergency chest radiography revealed pneumothorax with mediastinal shift. Tension pneumothorax was managed by chest tube drainage with the application of negative-suction pressure via the tube, after which her vital signs stabilized. On post-procedural day 4, the tube was removed. Our case suggests the importance of considering tension pneumothorax if respiratory compromise occurs despite oxygen administration after POEM even in the absence of immediate complications during the procedure, and performing chest radiography promptly.

Background: No definite guidelines for the management of small esophageal subepithelial tumors (SETs) have been established, because there are limited data and studies on their natural history. We aimed to assess the natural history and propose optimal management strategies for small esophageal SETs. Methods: Patients diagnosed as esophageal SETs ≤ 30 mm in size between 2003 and 2017 using endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) with a minimal follow-up of 3 months were enrolled, and their esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and EUS were retrospectively reviewed. Results: Of 275 esophageal SETs in 262 patients, the initial size was < 10 mm, 10–20 mm, and 20–30 mm in 104 (37.8%), 105 (38.2%), and 66 (24.0%) lesions, respectively. Only 22 (8.0%) SETs showed significant changes in size and/or echogenicity and/or morphology at a median of 40 months (range, 4–120 months). Tissues of 6 SETs showing interval changes were obtained using EUS-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy; 1 was identified as a gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) and was surgically resected, while the other 5 were leiomyomas and were regularly observed. Eight SETs showing interval changes were resected surgically or endoscopically without pathological confirmation; 1 was a GIST, 2 were granular cell tumors, and the other 5 were leiomyomas. Conclusion: Regular follow-up with EGD or EUS may be necessary for esophageal SETs ≤ 30 mm in size considering that small portion of them has a possibility of malignant potential. When esophageal SETs ≤ 30 mm show significant interval changes, pathological confirmation may precede treatment to avoid unnecessary resection.

The SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant spike protein facilitates cell–cell fusion
Jinman Kim,Seokin Kim,박정은 한국예방수의학회 2022 예방수의학회지 Vol.46 No.3
The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike (S) protein mediates virus entry by binding to the host cell receptor, human angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (hACE2), and catalyzing virus–host membrane fusion. The S protein also mediates cell–cell fusion, potentially allowing the virus to spread virion-independently. Here, we compared the fusogenicity of SARS-CoV-2 variant S proteins using a cell–cell fusion assay. In cells overexpressing hACE2, cell–cell fusion ability of all tested SARS-CoV-2 variants was similar to that of the Wuhan-Hu-1 strain. However, in cells with endogenous hACE2, SARS-CoV-2 variants, especially the Delta variant, stimulated significantly greater cell–cell fusion than the original strain. Our results showed that the Delta variant S protein is highly fusogenic and can spread rapidly by utilizing small amounts of hACE2.

This experiment was conducted to evaluate its adsorption capacity of modified rice hull biochar. The biochar treated with 6M KOH solution was carbonized at 850℃. The maximum adsorption of NH4 + -N in aqueous solution and maximum removal rate were 0.65 mg g -1 and 56.3 %, respectively, in 6M KOH modified biochar. For palm biochar, the maximum adsorption and removal rate of PO4 - -P were 0.67 mg g -1 and 56.0%, respectively. It was observed that NH4 + -N in aqueous solution can be only adsorbed in rice hull modified biochar, and PO4 - -P in palm biochar. The sorption of NH4 + -N to 6M modified rice hull biochar was significantly fitted(p<0.001) by Langmuir isotherm model because it was observed that dimensionless constant (RL) was 0.39. The maximum adsorption amount (qm) and binding strength constant (b) were calculated as 0.65 mg g -1 and 0.057 mg L -1 , respectively. Furthermore, the leaching experiment of modified rice hull biochar mixed with soil need to be more elucidated in the future.

In this paper, the new implementation method of in-factory calibration for automotive rear view camera proposed. The proposed method consists of recognizing the grid patterns for deriving the center point coordinates of grid plates, extracting the coefficients of perspective matrix[1], reflecting the perspective matrix coefficient to the LUT which applied to the LDC(Lens Distortion Correction) and calibrating the image and parking guidelines error based on the applied LDC(Lens Distortion Correction) LUT. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method enable to correct image and parking guidelines error efficiently through auto-calibration.
A Low-Cost Mechanism Exploiting Narrow-Width Values for Tolerating Hard Faults in ALU
Seokin Hong,Soontae Kim IEEE 2015 IEEE Transactions on Computers Vol. No.

Digital circuits are expected to increasingly suffer from more hard faults due to technology scaling. Especially, a single hard fault in ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) might lead to a total failure in processors or significantly reduce their performance. To address these increasingly important problems, we propose a novel cost-efficient fault-tolerant mechanism for the ALU, called LIZARD. LIZARD employs two half-word ALUs, instead of a single full-word ALU, to perform computations with concurrent fault detection. When a fault is detected, the two ALUs are partitioned into four quarter-word ALUs. After diagnosing and isolating a faulty quarter-word ALU, LIZARD continues its operation using the remaining ones, which can detect and isolate another fault. Even though LIZARD uses narrow ALUs for computations, it adds negligible performance overhead through exploiting predictability of the results in the arithmetic computations. We also present the architectural modifications when employing LIZARD for scalar as well as superscalar processors. Through comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that LIZARD outperforms other competitive fault-tolerant mechanisms in terms of area, energy consumption, performance and reliability.
