Background: Some studies have demonstrated that chemotherapy drugs enhance sensitivity to anesthetics owing to its systemic toxicity, while others have demonstrated that chemotherapy drugs have no effect. This study aimed to determine whether neoadjuvant chemotherapy influences the effect-site concentration (Ce) of propofol for sedation in patients with breast cancer. Methods: This study included patients aged 19–75 years who were scheduled to undergo breast cancer surgery under general anesthesia. Patients who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy were assigned to group C, whereas those who never received chemotherapy were assigned to group N. Propofol was administered through an effect-site target-controlled infusion, and the (MOAA/S) score and Bispectral Index (BIS) were recorded. When the plasma concentration and Ce were equal to the target Ce, and if the MOAA/S score did not change, the target Ce was increased by 0.2 μg/ml; otherwise, the Ce was maintained for 2 min and then increased. This process was repeated until the MOAA/S score became 0. Results: No significant differences were observed in Ce values at each sedation level between both groups. Ce values for loss of consciousness (LOC) of groups C and N were 2.76 ± 0.29 and 2.67 ± 0.27 μg/ml (P = 0.285), respectively. However, the BIS value at LOC of group C (63.87 ± 7.04) was lower than that (68.44 ± 6.01) of group N (P = 0.018).Conclusions: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer has no effect on the Ce of propofol for sedation.

As the number of moving users wishing to access Internet increases, frequent handoff will occur. Cellular IP provides fast smooth handoff on a local scale to support Mobile IP with scalable and robust service for future mobile environment. To support users multimedia oriented needs in mobile access network, QoS issue must be addressed. This paper deals with Differential Service in Cellular IP access network with MPLS. The paper suggests modified Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) to operate with unique Cellular IP routing.
관광도시 출입 유형을 고려한 대중교통 이용 관광객 식별 알고리즘 개선

최근 제주와 같은 관광도시에서 렌터카를 이용한 관광객이 증가함에 따라, 교통 체증 문제가 더욱 가속화되고 있다. 이러한 문제의 완화를 위해, 대중교통 기반의 관광 활성화가 중요하다. 우선 교통카드 데이터 분석을 통해 기존 대중교통 관광객의 특성을 이해하는 것이 필요하다. 다만, 교통카드 데이터는 암호화되어 있어 승객 중에서 관광객을 식별하기 위한 속성을 제공하지 않는다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문은 이러한 암호화된 교통카드 데이터에서 승객의 관광객 여부를 식별하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 특히, 본 연구에서는 관광도시 출입 유형을 고려하여 교통카드 데이터에서 관광객의 식별 정확도를 향상할 수 있음을 보여준다. 제안 방법은 2019년 제주지역 교통카드 데이터를 이용하여 검증하였다. 그 결과, 제안하는 방식이 기존의 방식에 비해 더 나은 관광객 식별이 가능한 것을 확인하였다. Recently, traffic congestion is intensifying as tourists, who use a rental car, increase in a tourist city such as Jeju Island. To alleviate this issue, it is necessary to make tourism easier using public transportation. To achieve this purpose, it is crucial to understand the detailed characteristics of the previous tourists, who used public transportation, through the analysis of public traffic card data. However, since the traffic card data is encrypted, there is no attribute to identify tourists among passengers. To tackle this problem, this work proposes a method for recognizing tourists from the encrypted transportation card data. Specifically, our proposed approach shows that considering types of access to the tourist city improves the tourist identification accuracy. Extensive experiments were conducted with the public transportation card data of Jeju island. As a result, we confirmed that the proposed method achieves higher accuracy of tourist identification, compared with the previously related research.
전기화학분극법에 의한 리튬 이온 전지의 열적 기계적 손상 평가

Purpose: Health and safety of lithium ion batteries have become important issue due to increasing reports on explosion and firing accident during use. In this research, mechanical and thermal damages of a lithium ion battery were evaluated by applying alternative current electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Methods: Nyquist plot was obtained for the isothermally exposed batteries to 85℃, 100℃ and 120℃ as well as mechanically twisted and bended lithium polymer batteries, respectively. Ohmic, SEI (secondary electrolytic interface), and charge transfer resistance were extracted and compared among them. Results: Nyquist plot of both thermally exposed and mechanically deformed batteries were observed to shift toward high resistance region. SEI resistance value increased with thermal exposure, which is attributed to the decomposition reaction of lithium salt over 60℃. For the mechanically deformed battery, Ohmic resistance increased, while little change in SEI resistance was observed. Conclusion: SEI resistance and Ohmic resistance value extracted from the Nyquist plot can be applied as a state-of-health monitoring indicator of the lithium ion batteries used under thermal exposure or mechanical deformation condition, respectively.
