Microform Cleft Lip 환자의 분류에 따른 수술적 치료

The microform cleft lip is the mildest expression of cleft lip and nose deformity, but it has no specific definition, classification, and few methods have been reported for its correction. It is characterized by deformity of the nostril, skin striae of the upper lip, notching of peaked Cupid's bow, deformity of the vermilion, and anomaly of the upper lateral incisior and alveolar ridge on the affected region. Sixty-three microform cleft lip patients were operated on between Dec. 1993 and Sep. 1998 in our department(29 males and 34 females). The age of the patients ranged from 5 months to 30 years(Mean 9 years). We classified and treated the microform cleft lip as follows: Class Ⅰ: Cleft lip nose with very slight lip deformity Class Ⅱ: Minimal lip deformity without vermilion notching ClassⅢ: Mild lip deformity with slight vermilion notching. The goals in the correction of a microform cleft lip are to obtain an esthetically pleasing upper lip and nose, and to reestablish muscle continuity for improved function. To attain these goals, we used the above classification and satisfactory results were obtained by treating the microform cleft according to the classification.

Hypoglycemic action of brazilin was found to be based on the improvement of peripheral glucose utility, and this action might be correlated with the insulin action pathway. In the present study we investigated the effect of brazilin on the insulin receptor autophosphorylation, protein kinase C (PKC), protein phosphatase and insulin receptor serine kinase in order to confirm whether the hypoglycemic mechanism is concerned with insulin action pathway. Brazilin was found to inhibit PKC and insulin receptor serine kinase, which are involved in the regulation of insulin signal pathway. But any significant effect was not shown on insulin receptor tyrosine kinase activity, autophosphorylation and phosphatase activity. These findings suggest that brazilin might enhance insulin receptor function by decreasing serine phosphorylation, which might mediate hypoglycemic effect of brazilin.

This study was carried out to development the environment-friendly control method of Myzus persicae using Beauveria bassiana and Environment-friendly agricultural materials (EFAM). Germination rate the dried conidia of B. bassiana was 90 percent at 24-27 ˚C temperature condition. Mortalíty of M. persícae was 56. 7% at 1 X1 07 cfu/ml conidia concentration. Four EFAM such as Pachungtan, Wangjungwang, Newbiodakill, Muginchon were low toxicity to B. bassiana growth. Among them, Muginchon (derris extract) and Wangjungwang (neem extract) could have synergistic effect to aphid mortality when mixing treat with B. bassiana, which protection value was 99% in 3 days after treat.
A Study on the relations between the type of Gymnastic teachers and Self-motive of students

It was the purpose of this study to inquire into the mutual relations between the assigned types of gymnastic teachers of primary school and self motive of students. First : In the field of gymnastic teaching of primary schools, the figures of internal factors influencing children were calculated in order of importance as exchange teacher, specialized-teacher and class-teacher. second : In the process of gymnastic lesson, the differential effect between male and female was statistically in-significant for the exchange teachers. All of the internal-factors other than aspect of efforts/importance were statistically significant for the specialized teachers. Third : In the aspect of "interest", "efforts/importance", "realized self-confidence" and "stimulus/mental pressure", the figures of co-relations were statistically highly co related and the effects of self-motivation were statistically significant in the aspects of types of teachers, sex of children and co-relations between types of teachers and sex of children. Forth : In gymnastic lesson, taken by class teachers, the aspects of interest and stimulus/mental pressure were statistically highly significant for the boys, and those of realized self-confidence and stimulus/mental pressure were highly evaluated for the girls. There was no difference male and female teachers.

Manufacturing and testing of full scale prototype for ITER blanket shield block

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Based on the preliminary design of the ITER blanket shield block (SB) #8, the full scale prototype (FSP) has been manufactured and tested in accordance with pre-qualification program, and related R&D was performed to resolve the technical issues of fabrication. The objective of the SB pre-qualification program is to demonstrate the acceptable manufacturing quality by successfully passing the formal test program.</P> <P>316L(N)-IG stainless steel forging blocks with 1.80L×1.12W×0.43t (m) were developed by using an electric arc furnace, and as a result, the material properties were satisfied with technical specification. In the course of applying conventional fabrication techniques such as cutting, milling, drilling and welding of the forged stainless steel block for the manufacturing of the SB #8 FSP, several technical problems have been addressed. And also, the hydraulic connector of cross-forged material re-melted by electro slag or vacuum arc requires the application of advanced joining techniques such as automatic bore TIG and friction welding. Many technical issues – drilling, welding, slitting, non-destructive test and so on – have been raised during manufacturing. Associated R&D including the computational simulation and coupon testing has been done in collaboration with relevant industries in order to resolve these engineering issues.</P> <P>This paper provides technical key issues and their possible resolutions addressed during the manufacture and formal test of the SB #8 FSP, and related R&D.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> 316L(N)-IG forged steel was successfully fabricated and qualified. </LI> <LI> Related R&D activities were implemented to resolve the fabrication issues. </LI> <LI> SB #8 FSP was successfully manufactured with conventional fabrication techniques. </LI> <LI> All of the validation tests were carried out and met the acceptance criteria. </LI> </UL> </P>
Temperature-dependent Development Model of Larvae of mealworm beetle, Tenebrio molitor on Pollard

The developmental time of larvae of mealworm beetle, Tenebrio molitor was studied at six temperatures ranging from 17 to 30℃ with 60~70% RH, and a photoperiod of 14L:10D. Mortality of 1st~13th larva was very low at 17 and 20℃ but did not die over 22℃. Developmental time of larva decreased with increasing temperature. The total developmental time was longest at 17℃ (244.3 days) and shortest at 30℃ (110.8 days), suggesting that the higher temperature, the faster development period. The lower developmental threshold temperature and effective accumulative temperatures for the total larval stages were 6.0℃ and 2564.1 day-degrees. The relationship between developmental rate and temperature fitted a linear model and nonlinear model by Logan-6 (r2=0.95). The distribution of completion of each development stage was well described by the 3-parameter Weibull function (r2=0.89).
