      • 馬山灣에서의 燐과 窒素의 動態에 관하여

        1978년 부터 1982년 까지 마산만 4개 정점에서 인산에 인과 질소 상태에 대한 조사 결과, 인산태 인과 질소 상태에 대한 조사 결과, 인산태 인은 각 정점별 평균치가 0.86∼2.70 μg at - P/ℓ이였고, Ammonia + amino 산태 질소는 1.21 ∼4.36 μg at - L/ℓ이였고, 질산태 질소는 0.94 ∼ μg at - N/ℓ 로 비교적 높은 값을 보였다. 마산시에 인접한 정점 1, 2에서는 질소의 농도가 점차로 증가하고 있는 경향을 보였다. 또한 질소와 인의 비율은 정점 1과 2에서 40을 넘는 값을 보여주어, 질소의 유입이 큰 것을 뜻하므로 이에대한 방지대책이 시급히 요구된다. The concentrations of phosphate-P, ammonia + amino acid-N, nitrite-N, and nitrate-N were measured at 4 sites in the polluted Masan Bay from 1978 to 1982. The mean concentration of phosphate-P, ammonia + amino acid-N, nitrine-N and nitrate-N in each site varied 0.68-1.90 ug at P/1, 1.21-4.36 ug at-N/1, 0.36-3.23 ug at-N/1 and 2.17-29.45 ug at-N/1, respectively. At site 1 and 2, nearyby Masan City, the concentration of nitrogen was gradually increasing according to the increase of the population of the city and the N/P ratios at site 1 and 2 reached more than 40.

        Background : The stenosis of the coronary artery may result in a decrease in the myocardial oxygen supply, ischemia and ??. Soojeomsan as a drug of analgesics is generally regarded to have the effect of vitalizing blood and ?? blood stasis(活血祛瘀). Methods : The purpose of this experimental study is to md whether Soojeomsan is effective or not in reperfusing ischemia in ?? heart of rats under the Langendorff apparatus. Ischemia was induced in isolated hearts of Sprague-Dawley ?? by ceasing the perfusion for 20 minutes. The experiments were divided into a normal saline orally administered group(control group), a Soojeomsan orally 120mg administered group(sample A) and a Soojeomsan orally 240mg administered group(sample B). The heart rates, developed left ventricular pressure, myocardial dilatation/contraction, cardiac blood flow and cardiac enzyme(Lactic Dehydrogenase) of the three group were measured and compared in order to assess the influence of Soojeomsan on isolated rat heart's recovering ability from ischemia. Results : 1. Heart rates were significantly increased in Soojeomsan orally 120mg administered group in comparison with control group on perfusion (P<0.05), and Soojeomsan orally 120mg administered group and Soojeomsan orally 240mg administered group in comparison with control group on ischemia-reperfusion(P<0.001). 2. Left ventricular pressure were significantly increased in Soojeomsan orally 120mg administered group and 240mg administered group in comparison with control group on perfusion(P<0.01), But there were no significant effects on ischemia-reperfusion. 3. There were no significant effects of the ability of left ventricle contraction on perfusion, But the ability of left ventricle contraction was significantly promoted in Soojeomsan orally 120mg administered group in comparison with control group on ischemia-reperfusion(P<0.05). 4. There were no significant effects of the ability of left ventricle dilatation on perfusion, But the ability of left ventricle dilatation was significantly promoted in Soojeomsan orally 120mg administered group in comparison with control group on ischemia-reperfusion(P<0.05). 5. No significant effects were observed in the Coronary perfusion flow on perfusion and ischemia-reperfusion in comparison with control group. 6. There were no significant effects of reducing of Lactic Dehydrogenase on perfusion, But Lactic Dehydrogenase was significantly reduced in Soojeomsan orally 120mg administered group in comparison with control group on ischemia-reperfusion(P<0.01). Conclusion : Soojeomsan have effects to protect of myocardial work and to recover ischemia in the isolated rat hearts. Especially. the effect of Soojeomsan orally 120mg administered group is greater than of Soojeomsan orally 240mg administered group and control group on perfusion and ischemia-reperfusion.

        In order to investigate the effects of Coptis chenensis FRANCH(川黃連) extract solution on the blood pressure, experimental studies were performed on the blood pressure in normal rats, SHRs. The results were as follows. 1. Coptis chenensis FRANCH(川黃連) extract solution showed significantly effect of asing odecren the mean blood pressure in normal rats. 2. Coptis chenensis FRANCH(川黃連) extract solution showed significantly effect of decreasing on the systolic blood pressure in SHRs. 3. Coptis chenensis FRANCH(川黃連) extract solution was dilated on the isolated aorta in rabbits. 4. Coptis chenensis FRANCH(川黃連) extract solution showed significantly inhibitory effect of ACE in vitro. 5. The mechanism of the antihypertensive effect on Coptis chenensis FRANCH(川黃連) seems due to vasodilatation. According to the above results, it was recognized that Coptis chenensis FRANCH(川黃連) showed significantly antihypertensive effect in normal rats and SHRs. And the mechanism of the antihypertensive effect on Coptis chenensis FRANCH(川黃連) seems due to vasodilatation and ACE inhibition(in vitro).

        A report of 21 unrecorded bacterial species of Korea belonging to the phylum Bacteroidota isolated in 2021

        During screening for indigenous prokaryotic species in Republic of Korea in 2021, a total of 21 bacterial strains assigned to the phylum Bacteroidota were isolated from a variety of environmental habitats including pine cone, seaweed, soil, sea sediment, brackish water and moss. Based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity value of more than 98.7% and formation of a robust phylogenetic clade with the type strain of the closest bacterial species, it was found that the 21 strains belong to independent and recognized bacterial species. There has been no official report that the identified 21 species have been isolated in Republic of Korea up to date. Therefore, 16 species in six genera of two families in the order Flavobacteriales, two species in two genera of two families in the order Cytophagales, one species in one genus of one family in the order Chitinophagales and two species in one genus of one family in the order Sphingobacteriales are proposed as unrecorded species of the phylum Bacteroidota isolated in Republic of Korea. Their Gram reaction, colony and cell morphology, basic phenotypic characteristics, isolation source, taxonomic status, strain ID and other information are described in the species descriptions.

        유리피판술을 이용한 구축성 화상반흔의 교정

        Burn scar contractures of the various joint areas including anterior cervical region, popliteal region, ankle, antecubital region and wrist accompanied with severe functional limitations and esthetic problems. Many authors recommended full-thickness, split-thickness skin graft, local skin flap, or distant skin flap. But the recurrence of the contracture and many following procedures have been troublesome after these surgeries. Recent progress in the field of microvascular surgery has opened the way for various types of free transfer. The microvascular surgery enabled the various joint regions to be resurfaced with free flap and so the recurrence of contracture was prevented. Authors treated 20 patients with severe and recurrent burn scar contracture of the various joint regions using various microvascular free flap transfer. We obtained satisfactory functional results without late recurrence of the contracture of the transferred flaps.

        Report of 21 unrecorded bacterial species in Korea belonging to Betaproteobacteria and Epsilonproteobacteria

        During the extensive survey of the prokaryotic species diversity in Korea, bacterial strains belonging to Betaproteobacteria and Epsilonproteobacteria were isolated from various sources including freshwater, sediment, soil and fish. A total of 23 isolates were obtained, among which 22 strains were assigned to the class Betaproteobacteria and one strain to the class Epsilonproteobacteria. The 22 betaproteobacterial strains were further assigned to Comamonadaceae (11 strains), Burkholderiaceae (6 strains), Oxalobacteraceae (2 strains), Neisseriaceae (1 strain) and unclassified family groups (2 strains). For the strains of Burkholderiaceae, 3 strains were identified as 3 species of Burkholderia, and 2 strains were as 2 species of Cupriavidus. For the strains of Comamonadaceae, 4 strains were identified as 2 species of the genus Hydrogenophaga, 2 strains as 2 species of Acidovorax, 2 strains as 2 species of Limnohabitans, and each of the remaining strains as single species of Comamonas, Curvibacter and Rhodoferax, respectively. For the strains of Oxalobacteraceae, 1 strain was identified as a species of Undibacterium, and the other strain as a species of Herbaspirillum. The strain belonging to Neisseriaceae was identified as a species of Iodobacter. The remaining strains of Betaproteobacteria were identified as species of Sphaerotilus and Methylibium respectively (family unassigned). The epsilonproteobacterial strain was identified as a species of Arcobacter of the family Camplyobacteraceae. The detailed description of each unrecorded species is provided.

        Rapid Detection of Virulence Factors of Aeromonas Isolated from a Trout Farm by Hexaplex-PCR

        The detection of virulence factors of Aeromonas is a key component in determining potential pathogenicity because these factors act multifunctionally and multifactorially. In this study water samples were collected from a trout farm on a seasonal basis, and diseased fish and Aeromonas species were isolated and identified. For rapid detection of six virulence factors of isolated Aeromonas, a hexaplex-polymerase chain reaction (hexaplex-PCR) assay was used. The detected virulence factors include aerolysin (aer), GCAT (gcat), serine protease (ser), nuclease (nuc) lipase (lip) and lateral flagella (laf). The dominant strain found in our isolates was Aeromonas sobria, and the dominant virulence factors were aer and nuc for all seasons. We confirmed that A. sobria and two of the virulence genes (aer and nuc) are related. We proposed a method by which one can identify the major strains of Aeromonas: A. hydrophila, A. sobria, A. caviae, and A. veronii, using hexaplex-PCR.

        A Novel Marker for the Species-Specific Detection and Quantitation of Vibrio cholerae by Targeting an Outer Membrane Lipoprotein lolB Gene

        Vibrio cholerae O1 and O139 are the major serotypes associated with illness, and some V. cholera non-O1 and non-O139 isolates produce cholera toxin. The present study describes a quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) assay for the species-specific detection and quantitation of V. cholera using a primer pair based on an outer membrane lipoprotein lolB gene for the amplification of a 195 bp DNA fragment. The qPCR primer set for the accurate diagnosis of V. cholera was developed from publically available genome sequences. This quantitative PCR-based method will potentially simplify and facilitate the diagnosis of this pathogen and guide disease management.
