        화자의 성별에 따른 한국형 주파수중요함수 및 절대전달함수 비교

        Purpose: The speech intelligibility index (SII) represents the contribution of audible speech information within given frequency bands to speech intelligibility. Generally, speech intelligibility performance depends on the gender of the speaker. The purpose of this study was to compare how a speaker’s gender affects band-importance functions (BIFs) and absolute transfer functions (ATFs), which are important components of the SII. Methods: This study consisted of 78 subjects. The SII data for male speakers was obtained from a previous study. The SII data for female speakers was obtained using the same procedure as the previous study. Hearing-In-Noise Test sentences were used as stimuli. Intelligibility scores were measured in 42 filters at 5 signal-to-noise ratios. The BIFs and ATFs were derived using a nonlinear optimization procedure, and then the BIFs and ATFs of the different genders were compared. Results: The BIF and ATF of different genders have different characteristics. In the case of the BIF, the gap between the different genders ranged between 0.2% (1,170Hz) and 4.0% (8,500 Hz) depending on the frequency band. In the case of the ATF, the female speakers’ ATF was steeper than the male speakers’ ATF. Conclusion: The results of the current study indicate that gender can be an important factor for predicting intelligibility. Female speakers’ speech seems particularly more intelligible than male speakers’ speech when measured at the same audibility levels in Korean SII modeling.

        TiO<sub>2</sub> 나노분말과 수산화알칼리와의 반응으로부터 티탄산 나노튜브의 형성과 나노구조의 전개

        [ $TiO_2$ ] nanotubes for photocatalytic application have been synthesized by hydrothermal method. $TiO_2$ nanotubes are formed by washing process after reaction in alkalic solution. Nanotubes with different morphology have been fabricated by changing NaOH concentration, temperature and time. $TiO_2$ nanoparticles were treated inside NaOH aqueous solution in a Teflon vessel at $110^{\circ}C$ for 20 h, after which they were washed with HCl aqueous solution and deionized water. Nanotube with the most perfect morphology was formed from 0.1 N HCl washing treatment. $TiO_2$ nanotube was also obtained when the precursor was washed with other washing solutions such as $NH_4OH$, NaCl, $K_2SO_4$, and $Na_2SO_3$. Therefore, it was suggested that $Na^+$ ion combined inside the precursor compound slowly comes out from the structure, leaving nanosheet morphology of $TiO_2$ compounds, which in turn become the nanotube in the presence of hydroxyl ion. To stabilize the sheet morphology, the different type of washing treatment solution might be considered such as amine class compounds.

        한국어 이명주요기능설문지의 검사 - 재검사 신뢰도 검증 및 간소화 버전 제안

        Purpose: The purpose of this study is to verify the test-retest reliability of the Korean version of the tinnitus primary function questionnaire (K-TPFQ) and to propose a simplified version of the K-TPFQ. Methods: In the test-retest reliability measure of the K-TPFQ, 31 participants were asked to complete the K-TPFQ on two occasions. Correlation between the results of the two questionnaires was confirmed by Pearson correlation coefficient. Then, a total of 110 subjects participated in the proposed, simplified version. Following factor analysis of the K-TPFQ, three items with high factor loadings for each subscale were selected as simplified version items. Internal consistency and validity were analyzed for the 12 items of the simplified version of the K-TPFQ. Results: The results of the test-retest reliability analysis of K-TPFQ showed significantly high correlations in all items, subscales, and total scores (r = 0.598-0.927). As a result of factor analysis, all items in each subscale showed high communalities. Therefore, we extracted 3 items with high content validity and high factor loadings from each subscale and adopted a total of 12 items for the simplified version. The results of the internal consistency test of the simplified version showed good validity and significantly high internal consistency of all items and subscales (α = 0.839-0.950). Conclusion: This study verified the high reliability and validity of the K-TPFQ. Therefore, it can be used to effectively evaluate the secondary effects of tinnitus in domestic clinics. In addition, the simplified version will reduce the time for evaluating tinnitus sufferers.

        교통사고로 유발된 경항통 환자의 근에너지기법(MET)의 효과에 대한 임상적 연구

        Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of muscle energy techniques on nuchal pain caused by traffic accidents. Methods: The 20 patients were divided into 2 groups: group A was treated except muscle energy techniques and group B was treated with muscle energy techniques. Both groups were treated with acupunture treatment, physical theraphy and herbal medication. Patients were evaluated by McGill Pain Questionnaire-Short Form(SF-MPQ), Pain Disability Index(PDI) and Neck Disability Index(NDI) in traffic accident patients. Results: 1. Both Group were significantly decreased in sensory of SF-MPQ, VAS, PDI and NDI after 7 days of treatment. 2. Group B compared with the Group A was significantly decresed in VAS, PDI after 7 days of treatment. Conclusions: We found out that muscle energy techniques is considered to be effective and useful on nuchal pain caused by traffic accidents.

        In this paper. the panel contribution analysis is used to identify the noise contribution of each sub-panel of car body to the total radiated noise. The accelerations of panels are measured in the normal direction on the outer surface of car body during operation. Acoustic transfer function, which has great influence on the panel contribution, is experimentally measured. In this procedure, volume acceleration of loudspeaker is defined by the application of equivalent area and a manifestation of the vibro-acoustical reciprocity. The panel contribution method is validated by comparing the radiated interior noise with the calculated radiated noises from each sub-panel. Contribution of panels for interior noise is ranked and problematic sub-panels of the car can be re-designed or reinforced according to the results.

        이명 재활을 위한 소리치료 방법과 적용

        Sound therapy is known to be a useful treatment option for tinnitus rehabilitation. The purpose of this paper was to review sound therapies that reported effects of tinnitus masking or tinnitus relief. Four sound therapies were reviewed: masking sound therapy, sequential sound therapy, sound therapy for Tinnitus Retraining Therapy, and notched sound therapy. Each sound therapy was reviewed for purpose of the therapy and definition, protocol of the sound therapy, effects of tinnitus relief or masking, usefulness, and limitations. Many researchers have investigated sound therapies using above mixing point sounds, at or below the mixing point sounds, and notched sounds. Most researchers reported that sound therapy is effective on tinnitus, but there is inconsistency regarding the extent of the masking or relief effects. Few researchers reported a sound therapy using sequential sounds. Although some studies have shown efficacy for these sound therapies, further studies are required for more reliable results. Although various sound therapies have identified positive effects of tinnitus relief or masking, information about selecting the appropriate rehabilitation method for each tinnitus sufferer is insufficient. However, the results of this paper will provide a basic guideline for audiologists or clinicians selecting a sound therapy for people who have tinnitus.

        명료어음과 일반 발성법에 의해 산출된 주파수중요함수와 전달함수 비교

        Purpose: This study compared band-importance function (BIF) and transfer function (TF) derived using clear and conversational speech. Methods: There were 156 participants in this study: 78 for the clear speech group and the others for the conversational speech group. The data used to derive BIF and TF were obtained using the same procedure as the previous study. Sentences from Speech Perception In Noise test were used as stimuli. Intelligibility scores were measured via 42 filters at five signal-to-noise ratios. The BIFs and TFs for clear and conversational speech were derived using a nonlinear optimization procedure. Then those for the different production methods were compared. Results: The BIF and TF for different production methods have different characteristics. For BIF, the highest weights of importance for clear speech ranged between 200 Hz and 400 Hz and the highest weights for conversational speech ranged between 510 Hz and 770 Hz. The maximum different band-importance weight for the two production methods was 1.92%p at a center frequency of 2,150 Hz. The TF for clear speech was steeper than the TF for conversational speech. Conclusion: The results of the current study provide information on the degree to which the clear speech is more intelligible according to the listener’s audibility compared to that for conversational speech. Audiologists and hearing professionals will use this information, when considering the communication strategy for people with hearing loss.

        주파수, 성별 및 어음 종류에 따른 한국어의 어음역동범위

        Purpose: Dynamic range (DR) of speech refers to the minimum and maximum levels of speech across frequencies and it depends on language. Recent findings showed that Korean speech DR is different from the DRs of other languages such as English and Mandarin. The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of Korean speech DR according to frequency (21 bands), gender (male and female), and speech type [words, sentences, and continuous discourses (CDs)]. Methods: DRs for 70 participants were recorded and yielded using cumulative histogram levels. Then, the DRs were compared according to frequency bands, gender, and speech type after level normalization at 65 dB sound pressure level. Results: Although there were no statistical differences between DRs for sentences and CDs, DRs for words were wider than DRs for other speech types. In terms of gender, DRs for female speakers were wider than DRs for male speakers in all speech types except a few frequency bands. Conclusion: Speech DR is important in real ear measurements like speech mapping because audibility can be determined based on the relationship between a person’s hearing thresholds and the DR of speech. Thus, the results of this study contribute to more accurate hearing aid fitting according to frequency bands, gender, and speech type for Korean listeners.
