The comparison between carboxyl, amido and hydroxy group in influencing electrorheological performance

        Huo, Li,Li, Jun-Ran,Liao, Fu-Hui 한국유변학회 2011 Korea-Australia rheology journal Vol.23 No.1

Three kinds of electrorheological (ER) materials with carboxyl, amido and hydroxyl group, respectively, were synthesized by a simple adsorption method. The powder of silicon dioxide as a substrate of the materials, as well as terephthalic acid [$p-C_6H_4(COOH)_2$, abbr.: phen-COOH], p-phenylenediamine [$p-C_6H_4(NH_2)_2$, abbr.: $phen-NH_2$] and hydroquinone [$p-C_6H_4(OH_2)_2$, abbr.: phen-OH] were chosen as starting materials. The ER properties of suspensions of the materials in silicon oil were studied. The suspension of the material adsorbing phen-COOH reveals the highest ER activity, the relative shear stress of the suspension (25 wt%), ${\tau}_r(={\tau}_E/{\tau}_0,\;{\tau}_E\;and\;{\tau}_0$ are the shear stresses at electric field strengths of E=4.2 and 0 kV/mm, respectively), reaches 220 under a DC electric field at a shear rate of $14.5s^{-1}$. The shear stress of the suspension of the material adsorbing $phen-NH_2$ is the largest at an high electric field strength. The ER activity of the material adsorbing phen-OH is the lowest among the three materials. The molecule structure is an importance factor in influencing ER performance of the materials for similar compounds with different polar function groups. The relationship between the ER activity and dielectric property of the materials was discussed.

Study on Rolling Process Analysis and Experiment of Small Cone Angle Spiral Bevel Gear

Jun Zhao,Jin-Huo Wang,Feng-Qing Li,Dong-Hao Li 한국정밀공학회 2021 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.22 No.7

Gear rolling process is a continuous rolling process by rotating and radial feeding motion of rolling wheel. It has advantages of low manufacturing cost, high gear strength and low forming load. The rolling processes of extrusion forming, gear splitting, continuous rolling and reshaping were analyzed by finite element method. The kinematic relationship between the rolling wheel and the forming gear during rolling deformation was studied. The results showed that the meshing motion between the rolling wheel and the billet could be guaranteed when the initial extrusion of the billet was not less than 1 mm. At the rolling gear splitting stage, the equivalent strain of the billet was shown to be related to the deformation of the material, which attained the largest at the root of the tooth. However, the equivalent stress of the billet was found to be dependent on the contact position of the rolling wheel, which has the maximum value at the root of the tooth in the contact area. During the continuous rolling forming stage, the forming load varied regularly and increased continuously with the rolling feed. The tooth profile of the gear was complete after the rolling reshaping process. According to the analysis and calculation results, the structure of rolling forming device was designed. Experiments showed that spiral bevel gears were able to be formed by rolling, and the billet size had an effect on the rolling process. When the size of billet was about 2 mm larger than the dividing circle radius of target gear, the quality of rolled gear was better. The results have important guiding significance for further research rules of rolling forming processes.

      • Experimental research for the protective effect of Naoxingtong-containing serum on rat cerebral microvascular endothelial cells

        Jun, Zhou,Jianyou, Guo,Jian, Guo,Lanfang, Li,Canghai, Li,Nan, Jiang,Shuying, Guo,Hairu, Huo,JiangTingliang, JiangTingliang Kyung Hee Oriental Medicine Research Center 2005 Oriental pharmacy and experimental medicine Vol.5 No.2

The protective effect of Naoxingtong (NXT) on rat cerebral microvascular endothelial cell (rCMEC) was investigated. rCMEC was injured in vitro by incubating for 4 hours at 100% NO in a hypoxia chamber. After treated with NXT-containing serum, the cellular viability rate (90.3%) was significantly elevated when compared with that of control group and the inhibitive rate of lactic dehydrogenase activity (9.2%) was far lower than the control group with dose-dependent effect. The results indicate that NXT can increase viability of rCMEC, and protect cell membrane from injury during hypoxia.

Effect of Different Pre-fermentation Treatments on Polyphenols, Color, and Volatile Compounds of Three Wine Varieties

        Jun Wang,Sufang Huo,Yuxiu Zhang,Yaping Liu,Weixin Fan 한국식품과학회 2016 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.25 No.3

Wines produced by three different grape varieties were treated with seven pre-fermentation techniques to analyze their variation in polyphenolic compounds, color parameters, and aromatic components. For polyphenolic compounds and color parameters, a better result was obtained after the grape pulp treatment, with the maximum impact observed after joint treatment with thermovinification and pectolytic enzymes, followed by thermovinification and cold soak, while pectolytic enzymes treatment alone was ineffective, resulting in almost no effect. On the contrary, the application of thermovinification and cold soak treatments before crushing the whole juice led to a dramatic decline in most indexes. For aromatic components, the joint treatment of thermovinification and pectolytic enzymes on grape pulp significantly affected its amount and type, in addition to giving the wine a mellow aroma.

Dynamic stiffness analysis of steel-concrete composite beams

        Jun Li,Qiji Huo,Xiaobin Li,Xiangshao Kong,Weiguo Wu 국제구조공학회 2014 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.16 No.6

An exact dynamic stiffness method is introduced for investigating the free vibration characteristics of the steel-concrete composite beams consisting of a reinforced concrete slab and a steel beam which are connected by using the stud connectors. The elementary beam theory is used to define the dynamic behaviors of the two beams and the relative transverse deformation of the connectors is included in the formulation. The dynamic stiffness matrix is formulated from the exact analytical solutions of the governing differential equations of the composite beams in undamped free vibration. The application of the derived dynamic stiffness matrix is illustrated to predict the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the steel-concrete composite beams with seven boundary conditions. The present results are compared to the available solutions in the literature whenever possible.

Effects of Forage Sources on Rumen Fermentation Characteristics, Performance, and Microbial Protein Synthesis in Midlactation Cows

        Xua, Jun,Houa, Yujie,Yang, Hongbo,Shi, Renhuang,Wu, Caixia,Huo, Yongjiu,Zhao, Guoqi Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2014 Animal Bioscience Vol.27 No.5

Eight multiparous Holstein cows ($632{\pm}12$ kg BW; $135{\pm}16$ DIM) were used in a replicated $4{\times}4$ Latin square design to evaluate the effects of forage sources on rumen fermentation characteristics, performance, and microbial protein (MCP) synthesis. The forage portion of the diets contained alfalfa hay (AH), oat hay (OH), Leymus chinensis (LC), or rice straw (RS) as the primary source of fiber. Diets were isonitrogenous and isocaloric, and cows were fed four corn silages based total mixed rations with equivalent nonfiber carbohydrate (NFC) and forage neutral detergent fiber (NDF). Dry matter intake was not affected by the source of dietary forages, ranging from 18.83 to 19.20 kg/d, consequently, milk yield was similar among diets. Because of the numerical differences in milk fat and milk protein concentrations, 4% FCM and ECM yields were unchanged (p>0.05). Mean rumen pH, NH3-N content, and concentrations of volatile fatty acids in the rumen fluid were not affected by the treatments (p>0.05). Dietary treatments did not affect the total tract apparent digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, and crude protein (p>0.05); however, digestibility of NDF and acid detergent fiber in RS diet was higher compared with AH, OH, and LC diets (p<0.05). Total purine derivative excretion was higher in cows fed AH, OH, and LC diets compared with those fed RS diet (p<0.05), consequently, estimated MCP synthesis was 124.35 g/d higher in cows fed AH diet compared with those fed RS diet (p<0.05). The results indicated that cows fed AH, OH, LC, and RS diets with an equivalent forage NDF and NFC have no unfavourable effect on the ruminal fermentation and productive parameters.

      • Estimating the Effect of Electric Universal Service in Rural Areas of Southwest China : From the Perspective of Equalization

Huijuan Huo,Huiru Zhao,Jun Dong 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Smart Home Vol.10 No.1

Aiming to ensure residential electricity, the effective implementation of electric universal service can improve the electric equalization and social justice. In order to promote electric universal service of the rural areas in Southwest China, the effect of electric universal services should be evaluated from the perspective of equalization. In this paper, an electric equalization evaluation model was proposed, which contains of electric supply equalization and electric benefit equalization evaluation models. The electric supply equalization evaluation model was established based on variation coefficient method. Meanwhile, the electric benefit equalization evaluation model was conducted based on prospect theory. At last, the electric equalization degree of the rural areas in Southwest China was evaluated, which shows that the electric equalization degrees have increased from 2006 to 2013, but still are low. What’s more, some suggestions are put forward to improve the implementation of electric universal service.

      • Influence of Perineural Invasion on Survival and Recurrence in Patients with Resected Pancreatic Cancer

Zhang, Jun-Feng,Hua, Rong,Sun, Yong-Wei,Liu, Wei,Huo, Yan-Miao,Liu, De-Jun,Li, Jiao Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.9

Background: Perineural invasion (PNI) has been reported as one of the sources of locoregional recurrence in resected pancreatic cancer (PC). However the impact of PNI in resected pancreatic cancer remains controversial. The purpose of this study was to determine the association between PNI status and clinical outcomes. Methods: Publications were identified which assessed prognostic significance of PNI status in resected pancreatic cancer up to February 2013. A meta-analysis was performed to clarify the association between PNI status and clinical outcomes. Results: A total of 21 studies met the inclusion criteria, covering 4,459 cases. Analysis of these data showed that intrapancreatic PNI was correlated with reduced overall survival only in resected pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients (HR=1.982, 95%CI: 1.526-2.574, p=0.000). Extrapancreatic PNI was correlated with reduced overall survival in all resected pancreatic cancer patients (HR=1.748, 95%CI: 1.372-2.228, p=0.000). Moreover, intrapancreatic PNI status may be associated with tumor recurrence in all resected pancreatic cancer patients (HR=2.714, 95%CI: 1.885-3.906, p=0.000). Conclusion: PNI was an independent and poor prognostic factor in resected PDAC patients. Moreover, intrapancreatic PNI status may be associated with tumor recurrence.
