Background: Intermediate myasthenia syndrome(IMS) is thought to have clinical importance because it may cause sudden respiratory failure during the recovery phase of a cholinergic crisis of organophosphate poisoning. We designed this study to identify the prevalence, the inducing agent, clinical predictor, and the proposed treatment of IMS. Methods: Patients who had admitted with the diagnosis of acute organophosphate poisoning from 1992 to 1998 at two teaching hospitals were enrolled in this study. We selected the cases of IMS based on a review of medical records using modified He' s criteria. Results: Twelve(12) out of 110 patients with acute organophosphate poisoning were diagnosed for a prevalence at 10.9%. The drug inducing IMS were identified as dichlorvos, fenthion, EPN, methidathion, and phosphamidon. The occurrence of IMS was not related to either the initial treatment with atropine and pralidoxime, or the level of serum cholinesterase. Complications were pneumonia, sepsis, pancreatitis, and pseudomembranous colitis, etc. Eleven(11) patients were discharged without sequelae, and one patient was discharged as a hopeless case. Conclusion: This study suggests that IMS is not rare, so close observation is required to detect IMS in organophosphate-poisoning patients. Also, more studies are required to find predictors and treatments.

배가스 폐열회수를 위한 히트파이프 적용성 검토

A Series of experiments are performed to investigate the heat transfer characteristics of sintered metal wick heat pipe especially focusing on the operational limit of maximum allowable thermal loads and the effect of inclination slope. Tested heat pipes are composed of copper tube with pure water as a working fluid. The outer diameter of the heat pipe is 6mm and the total length is 300mm, which covers the evaporator section(50mm), adiabatic section(100mm) and condenser section(150mm). respectively. Experimental data of wall temperature distribution along the axial locations are obtained to evaluate the performance of the heat pipe at different slopes. Each test is performed by changing the input thermal loads ranging from 5W to 30W.

동절기 신관리 석실고분 내부의 온·습도 분포특성

개방된 고분의 장기보존은 조상의 얼이 담긴 문화재를 길이 후손에 물려주어야 하는 우리들의 시대적 사명이라 할 수 있다. 그런데 고분 내부의 공기조화를 필요로 하는 경우 설비측면에서 고분내부의 공기조화 문제를 검토한 사례는 그 동안 많지 않았다. 특히 고분 내부환경에 관한 온·습도 자료는 매우 제한적으로 알려져 있는 상태이다. 본 연구는 고분의 공기조화와 관련하여 부하산정 등의 기초자료로 활용하기 위한 고분내부의 온·습도자료를 원격측정 기술을 적용하여 획득한 결과를 소개하며, 이를 통하여 고분내부의 실내환경 조건에 대한 일반의 이해를 돕고, 더 나아가 공조기 설치에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행하였다. 측정 연구대상은 충남 공주시 신관동에 소재한 신관리석실고분(충청남도 기념물 제 7호)으로서 백제후기의 횡혈식 석실고분으로서 현실의 크기는 폭 1.25m, 깊이 2.73m 그리고 높이 1.50m이며, 현실입구는 개방된 상태에서 실내 5채널 및 실외공기에 대하여 각각 온도와 습도를 측정하였으며, 본 본문에서는 동절기(12월부터 다음 해 3월까지)의 자료를 소개한다. In recent years the importance of the preservation of cultural artefacts like ancient tombs has been widely accepted domestically and internationally as the quality of life improves. However not much attention has been paid for the facilities and systems to preserve those artefacts. Even the general understanding of the preservatory environment of the underground space as tombs is poor. In the present study, the temperature and relative humidity inside a selected artefact, Shinkwan-ri tomb, are monitored to improve the understanding of the indoor thermal environment, which may possibly be used when one consider air-conditioning for preservation. Total of 12 channel data are collected by using remote data acquisition system based on the cdma(Code Division Multiple Access) technology. Three-month-data representing winter season is reported with discussions.

TR-UWB 시스템에서 동기방식 복조기

In this paper, we propose a coherent demodulator in transmitted-reference ultra-wideband communication systems. A residual timing offset exists when the acquisition and tracking of the timing synchronization is well done. And the offset affects the performance of the system dramatically. In order to compensate the offset, we present the digital phase-locked loop that uses the reference signal in the correlation detection receiver. First, we propose a timing detector using suboptimal maximum likelihood method. Second, we compare a performance between TR (Transmitted-Reference) UWB and DD(Decision-directed) UWB. When estimating a performance of time tracker, we consider a jitter in transmitter and receiver's pulse generation process as well as background noise. By using computer simulation, we propose mean/variance of timing detector and tracking process. Also we consider a mobility in tracking process, i.e., timing error modeled ramp function. In order to propose a performance of time tracker, we consider only one correlation demodulator.

This paper is an attempt to discuss about the lure of meditative wisdom. In his youth he had suffered greatly from the need and impossibility of unifying his disparate passionate interests. He believed in a form of philosophy, a type of nationalism, and a mode of literature. The beliefs were all real and guiding, but each seemed to lead in a different direction. He could establish on unifying view that would allow all his interests free. But this style can be constructed as a logical outgrowth of the relation between his three apparently contradictory interests and highly self conscious attempt to integrate them. This style also means not only imagery, idiom, and syntax but tradition, attitude, and subject matter. Hence belief and legend may be ingredients in forming a style. In Yeats' life his problems were worked out in a state of indecision, confusion, fumbling, and despair, with occasional grasp of his problems and more frequent loss of hold. He could not proceed by logical deduction and inference from already formalized and evaluated experience, and he could write with some show of confidence that his style had become his very self. This style he created slowly, very slowly, through a scrupulous choice of subject matter and a continual refinement and elaboration of technique.

공조시스템을 적용한 석실 고분내 온ㆍ습도 분포

Although the importance of good conservation of historic sites including ancient royal tombs is well aware, still not much attention has been paid for the facilities and systems to preserve those historic sites, which includes precious artifacts as wall paints and carved works, etc. Even the general understanding about the environment of the underground space of tombs is not satisfactory. In Korea, researchers have recently begun addressing the above issue and are making efforts to develop suitable HVAC(heating, ventilating and air-conditioning) systems for conservation of tombs. An experimental investigation was carried out to study the behavior of the HVAC system installed for a tomb. This tomb resembles in size and shape the original stone built tomb of Baek-je Dynasty, which dates back to 6th Century in southwest part of Korean peninsula. In this study, an HVAC system for a tomb(D×W×H=1.3m×3.0m×1.2m) was installed to maintain sui표 indoor conditions for conservation of tomb. The temperature and humidity inside the tomb were measured different of the setting. Finally, performance of the HVAC system is presented and discussed.

태권도 체육 수업에 대한 고등학생들의 인식도 조사 연구

The purpose of this study is to establish the educational ideology of Taekwondo by basing on male and female high school students' interest level of Taekwondo in physical education class conducted in school. The subjects were 947 students, including 544 boys and 403 girls, from four different high schools in Gyeonggi province, Busan and Seoul, where Taekwondo lesson was offered. For data analysis, t-test was conducted to find out the differences between the boys and girls, and Chi-square test was used to verify the level of significance. The results from this study is listed as below: Firstly, for the nasality of Taekwondo in physical education, 31.7% answered "so-so" as the highest result. Secondly, concerning whether the educational objectives for each grade were selected to meet their expectations and needs, 38.5 percent found it not quite satisfying and also 34.0 percent of subjects were not considering themselves to be interactive or alert in Taekwondo class. Thirdly, concerning if Taekwondo in physical education is practicing both practical and theory, 36.0% answered "so-so", and concerning if Taekwondo related books are brief and logical so that it is easy to understand, 34.5% answered "so-so" as the highest result. Forthly, concerning if Taekwondo in physical education is helping improve their health and strength, 33.8% answered "so-so", and concerning if it is helping improve their manners and social relations, 34.3% answered "so-so" as well. Lastly, 41.9% perceived the related educational setting in their schools to be "so-so", and 32.7% perceived the improvement effort of conducting Taekwondo in physical education in school as "so-so".

고분보존용 항온ㆍ항습 System의 동절기 운전특성

본 연구는 여러 가지 문화재 보존영역 중 개방된 고분의 장기보존을 위한 최적 공기 조화 시스템의 개발을 목표로 하여 수행되었다. 고분의 장기보존을 위해서는 고분 내 공기조성, 온ㆍ습도 및 기류환경을 모니터하여 고분내 자연 실내환경의 기초자료를 확보한 수 고분의 주 구성요소인 석재 및 전재의 보조측면에서 문제점을 검토하여 최적 유지환경조건을 정의하고, 이상의 요구조건을 실현할 수 있는 공조시스템의 적용이 필요하다. 본 논문은 이 중 모형고분에 적용된 공조시스템의 동계운전성능에 대하여 소개한다.

W. B. Yeats 명상시의 사상적 배경

This thesis is an attempt to discuss the background of W.B Yeats' meditative poetry. The meditative strain of English Verse in the late sixteen century during the primary thrust of the counter-Reformation into England. One of the religious outgrowths of this push to regain ground lost to Protestantism was the increasing prominence of various meditative practices that personalized the Catholic faith. The most notable of these practices were the Ignation meditations that synthesized several medieval branches of meditation and gave them new vibrancy in the early modern world. These meditations formed a significant part of the religious education during this period and were seminal in shaping the daily religious practices of the period, even in Protestant England. These meditation then formed the structural backbone of poems that also demanded a similar type of ordered introspection by John Donne, George Herbert, Robert Southwell, and others. Yeats clearly fits into this English meditative tradition, yet works with meditative techniques in a quite novel manner, principally due to the Irish and mystical elements that he brought in from other parts of his life. The techniques of meditation become significant for their impact on how a poem moves-working almost mimetically to trace the mind's progress toward God Yeats's poems, especially his mature poems, develop many of the imagistic patterns and employ similar technique as these Renaissance Poets. Yeats did not have the structure of the Catholic church or the discipline of the Jesuits to train his mind in meditative practices, yet his experiences with numerous occult societies introduced him to quite similar practices. His meditation then allows him to reach that unity of being where the oppositions of change and changelessness, time and eternity, are reconciled.
