        소재 트랜드 테마별 직물의 역학적 특성 연구 : 2002/03 여성복 추동 시즌을 중심으로 2002/03 Fall & Winter season for women's wear

        The purpose of this study was to clarify the different mechanical properties of fabrics among the theme groups classified by fashion fabric trend. This study can be useful for fabric marketers and planners to design new products. In order to carry out this study, the fabric samples of representative theme for '2002/03 F/W fashion fabric trend were collected from a fashion company and were measured to analyze the mechanical propertied, hand value(H.V) and total hand value(T.H.V) by KES-FB System. The results were as follows. 1. The theme-A of 'Luxury, Elegance' was consisted of wool, rayon and PET and had a lower B, 2HB of bending properties and a lower G and 2HG5 of shear properties. The theme-B of 'Technical, Functional' was consisted of synthetic fibers such as PET, PA, PU and elastic fiber and had a higher MIU and a lower MMD, SMD of surface properties. The theme-C of 'Vintage, Aged' was consisted of mostly cotton and had the highest B and 2HB. The theme-D of 'Fancy, Airy' was consisted of mostly woolen wool, polyacryl and polyamide and had a high MMD and SMD of surface properties and a high LC and RC of compression properties. 2. As the results of analyzing H.V and T.H.V through KES-FB system, the theme-A showed a higher Smoothness and lower stiffness. The theme-B had a lower Smoothness, Fullness, Soft feeling and T.H.V and the theme-C had the highes stiffness. The theme-D showed the highest Fullness and Soft Feeling but the lowest Stiffness.

        Chlorhexidine과 fluoride 성분의 varnish가 타액 내 mutans streptococci 수에 미치는 효과

        본 연구의 목적은 chlorhexidine(Cervitec)과 fluoride(Fluor-protector) 성분을 각각 포함한 varnish를 치아에 적용하였을 때 타액내의 mutans streptococci의 수의 감소에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 전북대학교 치과대학생 40명을 대상으로 하여 mutans streptococci 균종 수를 평가하였으며, 이들을 무작위로 네 군으로 나누어 다음과 같이 varnish를 적용하였다; A) varnish를 적용하지 않은 군(n=10), B) chlorhexidine varnish 적용군(n=10), C) fluoride varnish 적용군(n=10), D) chlorhexidine과 fluoride varnish를 모두 적용한 군(n=10), Mutans streptococci 수 측정에는 Orion diagnostica 사의 Dentocult SM을 사용하였다. Varnish를 적용하지 않은 상태에서 1차로 Mutans streptococci 수를 측정한 후 각각의 varnish를 적용하였으며, varnish 적용 12주 후 다시 측정하여 기록하였다. 모든 실험군(group B, C, D)에서 12주 후에 측정한 Mutans streptococci 수가 감소한 개체가 증가한 개체보다 많았으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이는 보이지 않았다(p>0.05). 실험에 사용된 어떠한 varnish도 적용 12주 후에 타액 내 mutans streptococci 수에 통계적으로 유의할 만한 변화를 주지는 못하는 것으로 나타났다(p>0.05). The objective of the present prospective trial was to compare the efficacy of chlorhexidine(Cervitec), Fluoride(Fluorprotector) and combination of chlorhexdine and fluoride varnishes in decreasing the level of salivary mutans streptococci. Forty healthy students of school of dentistry, Chonbuk national university were investigated to evaluate mutans streptococci(MS) counts and randomized into four groups to treat with the experimental varnishes: A) untreated group(n=10), B) chlorhexidine group(n=10), C) fluoride group(n=10), D) chlorhexidine and fluoride group(n=10). Dentocult SM^(�)(Orion Diagnostica) strip method was used for measurement of the level of mutans streptococci in saliva. Stimulated saliva were collected at baseline for mutans streptococci counts evaluation(ms1), 12 weeks later the completion of each varnish treatment, mutans streptococci counts were re-evaluated. In varnish group with chlorhexidine, fluoride and combination of chlorhexidine and fluoride, the level of mutans streptococci was lower after 12 weeks than at baseline, but there were no significant differences in saliva(p>0.05), when compared with baseline. After 12 weeks, a remarkable reduction was still found in the subjects with high level of mutans streptococci at baseline, but not different in the low and moderate level of mutans streptococci(p>0.05).

      • STZ 유발 당뇨쥐에서 시간에 따른 생리적 항산화계의 변화

        The purpose of this study was to investigate change of physiological antioxidative system according to the time in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Sprague-Dawley male rats weighing 150±10gm were randomly assigned to one normal and five STZ-induced diabetic groups. Diabetic groups were classified to experimental period. Diabetes was experimentally induced by intravenous injection of 55 mg/kg of body weight of STZ in citrate buffer(PH 4.3) after 6 weeks feeding of three experimental diets. Animals were sacrificed at 0, 3, 6, 12, 18th days of diabetic states. 1. Activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) in liver was increased in that of diabetic mellitus(DM) groups at 3th day but that of DM groups was not significant from 6th day according to period. Glutathion peroxidase(GPX) was significantly decreased in DM groups from 6th day 2. Reduced glutathione(GSH) contents in liver significantly decreased in diabetic groups from 3rd day compared with those of DM groups according to the period. Oxidized glutathione(GSSG) was higher from 6th day. GSH/GSSG ratio was significantly lower than that of normal group from 3rd day to all experimental period 3. Contents of vitamin E in liver of DM groups were significantly decreased compared with that of normal group from 6th day. 4. Lipid peroxide(LPO) contents in liver of DM groups were significantly increased compared with that of normal group from 3rd day. The present results indicate that STZ-induced diabetic rats were reduced by antioxidative defense system and taken by peroxidate damage in tissue compared with normal group from 3rd day or 6rd day after injection STZ. It lended to acceleration all diabetic groups but no significance according to the experimental time.

      • 에어로빅 운동이 비만 여중생의 복부비만과 심폐기능 및 인슐린에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of aerobic exercise on abdominal obesity, cardiopulmonary function and serum insulin in obese middle school girls participated in aerobic exercise for 20 weeks. The conclusions are as follows ; 1. Total body fat, percent body fat, body mass index, waist circumference and waist-hip ratio were significantly decreased, but lean body mass was significantly increased in the changes of body composition factors. 2. Systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure were significantly decreased, but maximal oxygen consumption was significantly increased in the changes of cardiopulmonary function factors. 3. Total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and insulin were significantly decreased, but high-density lipoprotein cholesterol was significantly increased in the changes of serum lipid and insulin factors. In conclusions, aerobic exercise may be very effective to decrease the obesity and geriatric diseases.

        Horseshoe Appliance를 이용한 Ⅲ급 부정교합의 교정적 접근

        성장기 아동의 Ⅲ급 부정교합의 치료에는 많은 악기능 정형장치가 사용되어 왔으며 다양한 형태로 변화하여 발전되어 왔다. Horseshoe appliance는 Schwarz에 의해 소개된 장치로서 elastic의 견인력으로 장치의 free sliding 효과를 통해, 하악와와 과두의 관계를 재정립시켜, 악골 주위의 연조직이나 muscle matrix와 조화되는 새로운 위치에 하악골을 repositioning시켜 악골관계를 개선시킬 수 있다. 또한 하악의 후하방 회전 효과를 극소화시켜 전안면고경의 증가를 방지할 수 있고, 구외 장치에 비해 환자의 협조도가 좋다. 저자들은 전치부 반대교합을 주소로 전북대학교 치과병원 소아치과에 내원한 Ⅲ급 부정교합 환자에게 Horseshoe appliance를 사용한 결과 하악골에 대한 상대적인 상악골의 전방 성장과 교합평면의 반시계방향 회전, 상악 전치의 순측 경사와 하악 전치의 설측 경사로. 3개월 내에 전치부 반대교합이 해소되는 효과를 얻었다. The Horseshoe appliance was introduced by Dr. Schwarz, and it is used to correct sagittal relationships by elastic force in class Ⅲmalocclusion.It minimizes the increment of lower anterior facial height and allows the mandible to be repositioned harmoniously with the soft tissue and muscle matrix of the jaw. It has the advantages of better patient cooperation, easier construction, and more effective modification. In the patients who were treated with Horseshoe appliance, forward growth of maxilla and counterclockwise rotation of occlusal plane with labioversion of maxillary incisors and linguoversion of mandibular incisors were obtained Minimum downward and backward rotation of mandible was accepted, so increasing of lower anterior facial height was minimized.

      • Identification of a Triple Mutation That Confers Tenofovir Resistance in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients

        Aims: Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) is the most potent nucleoside analog for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Genotypic resistance to tenofovir has not yet been reported. This study aimed to characterise HBV mutations that confer tenofovir resistance. Methods: Two consecutive patients with viral breakthrough during treatment with TDF-containing regimens were prospectively enrolled. The gene encoding HBV reverse transcriptase (RT) was sequenced. Nine HBV clones harbouring a series of mutations in the RT gene were constructed by site-directed mutagenesis. Drug susceptibility of each clone was determined by Southern blot analysis and real-time PCR. Relative frequency of mutants were evaluated by ultra-deep sequencing. Results: (Please understand that actual mutation site numbers were replaced by bold, underlined alphabetical letters since they are now confidential due to embargo policy.) Seven mutations (rtSaaaC [C], rtHbbbY [Y], rtDcccE [E], rtVdddL, rtLeeeM, rtMfffV, and rtLgggI) were commonly found in viral isolates from both patients after viral breakthrough; C, Y, and E were novel mutations. An HBV mutant harbouring all three mutations (CYE) was resistant to tenofovir. The IC<sub>50</sub> values for wild-type HBV and the CYE mutant were 3·8 ± 0·6 μM and 14·1 ± 1·8 μM, respectively. Ultra-deep sequencing showed that CYE mutant was dominant than any other mutant in both patients. All tenofovir-resistant mutants had similar susceptibility to a core inhibitor, NVR 3-778 (IC<sub>50</sub> < 0·4 μM) compared with wild-type (IC<sub>50</sub> = 0·4). Conclusions: Our study reveals that a novel triple mutation (CYE) is associated with tenofovir-resistance. These results demonstrate that tenofovir-resistant HBV mutants can emerge, although the genetic barrier is high. A novel core inhibitor might be a potential rescue therapy for tenofovir-resistant HBV.

        A Study on Subjective Assessment of Knit Fabric by ANFIS

        The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the structural properties of plain knit fabrics on the subjective perception of textures, sensibilities, and preference among consumers. This study, then, aimed to provide useful information with respect to planning and designing knitted fabrics by predicting the subjective characteristics analyzed according to their structural properties. For this purpose, we employed statistical analysis tools, such as factor and regression analysis and an adaptive-network-based fuzzy inference system(ANFIS), thereby combining the merits of fuzzy and neural networks and presupposing a non-linear relationship. Through factor analysis, we also categorized the subjective textures into 'roughness', 'softness', 'bulkiness' and 'stretch-ability' with R2=70.32%: and categorized the sensibilities into 'Stable/Neat', 'Natural/Comfortable' and 'Feminine/Elegant' with R2=68.12%. We analyzed subjective textures, sensibilities, and preference with ANFIS, assuming non-linear relationships; consequently, we were able to generate three or four fuzzy rules using wool/rayon fiber content and loop length as input data. The textures of roughness and softness exhibited a linear relationship, but other subjective characteristics demonstrated a non-linear input-output relationship. Compared with linear regression analysis, the ANFIS exhibited had higher predictive power with respect to predicting subjective characteristics.

        Growth Rate and Nutrient Content Changes of Humulus japonicus

        The growth pattern and the seasonal changes in nutrient contents of Humulus japonicus were investigated. Stem length of H. japonicus reached the maximum from 240 to 260 Julian date and the median value was found at 255 Julian date. The maximum leaf area was observed from 235 to 248 Julian date and the median value was at 240 Julian date. The maximum growth rate of the stem length ranged from 205 to 227 Julian date. The leaf area showed the maximum growth rate from 196 to 214 Julian date. The median date in the growth rate of the stem length and leaf area was 212 and 205 Julian date, respectively. The growth rate of H. japonicus was related to rainy season and precipitation. Phosphorus and sodium contents of H. japonicus were correlated with maximum potential rate of relative growth. Although stem biomass of H. japonicus was $ 1.5{\sim}3.5$ times larger than that of leaf, N content of the leaf ($4.48{\sim}5.27%$) was about 2 times higher than that of the stem ($2.00{\sim}3.62%$). High content of N might be responsible for the high growth rate of H. japonicus in summer. This result provides valuable information for appropriate timing for the removal of H. japonicus.

        Genome-Wide Differential Gene Expression Profiling of Human Bone Marrow Stromal Cells

        <P>Bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) reside in bone marrow and provide a lifelong source of new cells for various connective tissues. Although human BMSCs are regarded as highly suitable for the development of cell therapeutics and regenerative medicine, the molecular factors and the networks of signaling pathways responsible for their biological properties are as yet unclear. To gain a comprehensive understanding of human BMSCs at the transcriptional level, we have performed DNA microarray-based, genome-wide differential gene expression analysis with the use of peripheral blood-derived mononuclear cells (MNCs) as a baseline. The resulting molecular profile of BMSCs was revealed to share no meaningful overlap with those of other human stem cell types, suggesting that the cells might express a unique set of genes for their stemness. By contrast, the distinct molecular signature, consisting of 92 different genes whose expression strengths are at least 50-fold higher in BMSCs compared with MNCs, was shown to encompass largely a gene subset of umbilical cord blood-derived adherent cells, suggesting that adherent cells derived from bone marrow and umbilical cord blood may be defined by a common set of genes, regardless of their origin. Intriguingly, a large number of these genes, particularly ones for extracellular matrix products, coincide with normal or tumor endothelium-specific markers. Taken together, our results here provide a BMSC-specific genetic catalog that may facilitate future studies on molecular mechanisms governing core properties of these cells.</P>

        Comparison of serological tests for bovine brucellosis in South Korea

        Regarding to diagnosis for bovine brucellosis, more than one serological test should be conducted to confirm the infection by Brucella with a reliable result due to various factors including false positive serological reactions. In this study, we compared confirmatory serological tests to determine the appropriate way to detect and confirm the Brucella infection in South Korea. Several serological tests, including serum agglutination test (SAT), indirect (I)- and competitive (C)-ELISA, and fluorescence polarization assay (FPA), for detection of bovine brucellosis were performed with sera from 537 cattle. In addition, comparison of diagnostic efficacy was performed with bacterial isolation represented true positive. Of 537 serum samples, 426 (79.3% of prevalence), 433 (80.6%), 414 (77.1%), and 409 (76.2%) sera were positive for SAT, C-ELISA, I-ELISA, and FPA respectively. Based on the results of serology, the correlation among the serological tests revealed observed agreements of more than 92% with kappa (k) value of more than 0.77. The correlation between serological tests with bacterial isolation appeared observed agreements of between 79.9% and 84.7% with k value of between 0.42 and 0.59. Particularly, FPA recorded almost perfect agreements with C-ELISA and I-ELISA as well as the highest correlation with bacterial isolation. Accordingly, this investigation presented the comparison of correlation and diagnostic efficacy of serological tests for bovine brucellosis in South Korea. We suggest this finding will be a useful data to re-establish the potential serological diagnostic methods that can apply to maintain the low prevalence.
