심화되어 가는 현대사회 속에서 인간성의 획일화와 더불어 개인주의적 풍토가 만연화되어 가는 이 시 점에 사람들은 자신의 이익을 위한 상호공격적인 성향을 드러내고 있다. 반면, 그 공격성에 의한 필요이상의 충격방지대 책을 취하고 있는 것이 오늘날 현실세계를 살아가 는 인간이 공통적인 행동양식이 아닐까. 나는이러한 필요이상의 방어수단, 자위적 조치 (Defensive Measure)를 표현함으로서, 기계가 지배하는 현대사회 안에서 인간성이 물질화되어 가는 이 시대에 대한 새로운 시각을 제시하고자 한다. In the complicated present society, personal characters are getting standardized. Also, people show their aggression toward others to keep their interests. On the other hands, they make their own defensive measure to protect themselves and their interests. Sometimes, it hurts them because it is strong too much. I think this is the way people do in the contemporary society. Through expressing defensive measure more than needs, I am trying to criticize this age in which people replace humanity with material value.

동시대 조각분야와 타 장르간의 협업(Collaboration)에 관한 고찰

본 연구는, 예술가가 작품을 제작함에 있어서 우연적 혹은 필연적으로 경험하게 되는 타 장르와의 콜라보레이션에 의하여 벌어지는 외형적인 양상과 내용적인 융합에 대한 개념을 소개함으로서, 본 연구자가 평소 생각하고 있는 ‘진정한 의미로서의 콜라보레이션’개념에 대하여 고찰하고자 함을 그 목적으로 한다. 예술가들은 그동안 작품의 내용성 및 개념성을 보다 강화 및 확산시키기 위한 수단으로서 표현기법의 양식에 의해 분류되는, 이른바 ‘장르(genre)’를 변화 및 탈피하고자 하는 다양한 노력을 하여왔으며 그러한 시도의 일환으로서 타 장르(他genre)와의 협업(協業), 이른바 콜라보레이션(Collaboration)을 여러갈래로 시도하여 왔다. 그러한 다각적인 시도는, 그 결과적인 측면에 있어서 부분적인 성공과 실패를 수없이 반복하여 왔으나, 그 사이에 예술가들로 하여금 예술의 나아갈 길에 대한 진지한 성찰과 더불어 새로운 방향을 모색하는데에 큰 역할을 하였음은 자명한 사실이다. 본 연구는, 시각이미지와 그에 따른 미적개념을 생산하는 미술작가를 비롯한 수많은 아티스트들이 지금껏 간과하였던 아트 콜라보레이션에 대한 개념에 대하여, 본 연구를 통하여 어떠한 발상전환의 단초를 제공하고자 한다. 그 방법으로서 본 연구는 동시대 조각분야의 확산의지와 그에 따른 외형적인 전개양상에 대하여 다루고 있으며, 본 연구자가 직접 경험한 콜라보레이션 사례 및 결과 등을 소개함으로서, 미술, 그 중에서 본 연구자의 전공분야인 ‘조각분야’와 타 장르간의 콜라보레이션에 대한 긍정적 효과와 더불어 부정적 효과를 중점적으로 제시하며 논하고 있다. 이를 위하여 아트 콜라보레이션에 대한 일반적인 개념설명과 더불어, 본 연구자가 경험한 콜라보레이션의 성공사례와 실패사례 등을 함께 소개하며, 결론부에서 본 연구자가 평소 사유(思惟)하고 있는 ‘진정한 의미로서의 콜라보레이션’ 개념으로서, 물리적 병치가 아닌 화학적 융합을 통한 협업개념을 소개한다. This research, by introducing the concept of the external form and the internal convergence which are derived by collaboration with different genres which an artist accidentally or inevitably experiences in an art-making process, intended to study the true concept of collaboration I usually believe. Artists have been putting in effort to break from the so-called ‘genre’, which is classified by expression techniques to enhance contents and conceptuality. And they have been trying to cooperate with other genres, widely known as collaboration. Though such tries have resulted in partial success and failure which have been repeated through time, it is definite that those kinds of attempts have played a significant role in introspecting the way how art should proceed, and finding a new direction of art. This paper will deal with the notion of collaboration, that numerous artists which produce visual images and following concepts have overlooked and provide a beginning to switch of ideas. This study will cover the field of contemporary sculpture’s ‘will to spread’ and the following movement aspects, and by introducing examples and results of collaboration which the author has experienced, it talks about the positive and negative effects of collaboration with other genres in art, especially sculpture in which the author has majored. For this, along with explaining the general concept of collaboration, it also introduces the notion of ‘genuine collaboration’ in which the author has usually thought of and presents success and failure cases of collaboration that the author has experienced.

Path Tracking Controller Design and Simulation for Korean Lunar Lander Demonstrator

In Korea, Lunar exploration program has been prepared with the aim of launching in the 2020's. As a part of it, a lunar lander demonstrator was developed, which was the model for verifying the system such as structure, propulsion, and control system, before launching into the deep space. This paper deals with the path tracking performance of the lunar lander demonstrator with respect to the thruster controller based on Pulse Width Pulse Frequency Modulator (PWPFM) and Pulse Width Modulator (PWM). First, we derived equations of motion, considering the allocation of the thrusters, and designed the path tracking controller based on Euler angle. The signal generated from the path tracking controller is continuous, so PWPFM and PWM modulator are adopted for generating ON/OFF signal. Finally, MATLAB simulation is performed for evaluating the path tracking ability. We compared the path tracking performances of PWPFM and PWM based thrust controller, using performance measures such as the total impulse and the position error with respect to the desired path.

Defensive Measure(자위적 조치)시리즈와 동시대 한국 금속조각의 방향성에 관한 고찰

본 연구는, 동시대 한국 금속조각계를 비롯한 우리 조각계가 앞으로 나아가야 할 긍정적인 방향성을 제시하며, 본 연구자의 작품테마인 Defensive Measure시리즈에 대한 내용을 중심으로 논하고 있다. 본 연구는 그 시대적인 범위로서 과거와는 달리 유난히 물성(物性)과 미적시인성(美的視認性)을 기반으로 하여 재료성에 대한 연구와 외형적인 표현성을 다루는 데에 중점을 두었던 2000년대 한국의 현 대조각계를 두고, 당시의 시대정신에 대한 문제의식을 제기하며 ‘조각가’라고 하는 소중한 명칭으로 불리우는 사람이 갖추어야 할, 조각가로서의 ‘태도’에 관련한 내용을 이야기함으로써 그 방향성을 제시하고자 함을 그 목적으로 한다. 이에 따른 연구방법으로서 본 연구자가 작가지망생의 신분으로서 직접 경험하고 느꼈던 2000년대 초반의 yBa(young British artists)의 실로 강력하였던 그 영향력과 지금껏 경험치 못하였던 해외옥션과 아트페어를 중심으로 한 미술시장의 커다란 흥행이 한국의 조각계에 미쳤던 영향을 소개한다. 그러한 영향으로 인하여 작품의 근간(根幹)이 되어야 함에 마땅한 이른바‘내용성’에 대한 탐구보다는, 새롭고 독특한 조형재료를 발견하고자 노력하며 그에 따른 지금껏 경험치 못한 시각이미지를 생산해 내기 위하여 열중하였던 본 연구자를 포함한 당시 신진조각가 및 작가 지망생의 작품제작에 대한 인식과 태도에 대한 문제의식을 재고(再考)한다. 그리고 본 연구자의 작품테마인 Defensive Measure시리즈를 소개함으로써 금속을 주로 다루는 본 연구자의 작품제작에 있어서의 과거와 현재에 대한 작가로서의 태도변화를 논하며, 결론부에서 작품은 ‘수단이 아닌 목적(目的) 그 자체’라는 개념을 바탕으로, 2000년대를 오롯이 몸으로 겪어내고 눈으로 직접 보아온 우리 미술가들이, 전술(前述)한 바와 같은 ‘문제에 대하여 인식하고 그 나름의 사고를 해야한다’라고 하는 ‘작가로서의 책무(責務)’와 그에 대한 ‘인식의 환기(換氣)’에 대하여 논한다. The aim of this study is to examine the history and development of the metal sculpture scene in Korea, and to suggest a direction, to which the Korean sculptural community must strive to pursue. As for the research’s range, this paper focuses on material studies and expression of forms based on the aspects of physical property and aesthetic legibility that were pursed by the Korean sculptors in the 2000’s, unlike their predecessors. By bringing up proper qualification and ideal spirituality that a sculptor must posses, this research suggests a direction that respectful sculptors must aim to achieve. For that, this paper will show how metal sculpture has progressed along with the invention and development of common industrial goods, since the time of Modernism. By highlighting the early 2000’s yBa(young British artists) group’s powerful influence in the art market, which the researcher has seen in person, this study examines the relationship between the rise of international art auctions and art fairs, and the impact on the sculptural scene in Korea. And by raising the problematic approach to sculpting, which focused more on new materials and strong visuals rather than on contents, this study criticizes such overworked artistic approach and attitude of the artists, including the author, at the time. For such example, this study analyzes the researcher’s shift in the attitude toward making artworks throughout the past and present. In the conclusion, based on the concept that an artwork should be an end rather than means, this study acknowledges the problems, of which the artists of the 2000’s went through in person. And the research discusses about the responsibility of an artist, and calls new attention to the perception.
