韓國人 兒童(6才∼11才)의 血淸鐵, 不飽和鐵結合(UIBC) 및 總鐵結合能(TIBC)의 正常値를 調査하기 위하여 男兒34名과 女兒 34名을 對象으로하여 檢査한 結果는 다음과 같았다. 血淸鐵 : 男兒 135±30 (74-196)㎍/100㎖ 女兒115±34 (47-183)㎍/100㎖ UIBC 男兒 237±41 (155-319)㎍/100㎖ 女兒 225±46 (133±317)㎍/100㎖ TIBC : 男兒 366±32 (302-430)㎍/100㎖ 女兒 330±41 (248-412)㎍/100㎖ %Saturation : 男兒 37.1±8.0(21-53)% 女兒 34.6±11.9(21-59)% 以上의 値들은 成人의 그것과 比較해서 別 差異가 없었다. 그리고 大體的으로 女兒의 값이 男兒의 그것 보다 떨어지는 結果로 보였다. This paper has been caried out to determine the normal values for serum iron and iron binding capacity of Korean children, and to compare with that of adult men Non-festing blood specimens were collected from 34 males and 34 females in the morning (am. 9-10). Serum iron was estimated by the modified method of Barkan-Walker's, and the total iron binding capacity by Ramsay method. The results obtained were as follows: Serum iron: male 135-30ug 100ml (range; 74-196) female 115-34ug 100ml (range; 47-183) U.I.B.C. : male 237-41ug 100ml (range; 155-319) female 225-46ug 100ml (range; 133-317) T.I.B.C. : male 366-32ug 100ml (range; 302-412) female 330-41ug 100ml (range; 248-412) % Saturation:male 37.1-8.0% (range;21-53) gemale 34.6-11.9%(range;21-59) These normal values of children were no significant difference between that of adults which are reported by other investigators.

This paper dealt with the propagation characteristics of acoustic signals produced by partial discharges and the positioning of PD origin in insulation oil to develop insulation diagnostic techniques of oil-immerged transformers. Electrode systems such as needle to plane, plane to plane, and particle electrodes were fabricated to simulate some defects of power transformers. In addition, the frequency spectrum and propagation characteristics of acoustic signals with partial discharge (PD) in insulation oil were analyzed. Although there were differences based on the type of defect, the frequency spectra of the acoustic signals measured by wide and narrow band acoustic emission (AE) sensors were distributed in the range of 50 kHz-400 kHz. Therefore, a narrowband AE sensor is suitable for the diagnosis of oil-immersed power transformers. We could find the position of the PD source with an error margin of 10% in the experiments by calculating the position of the PD occurrence using the time difference of arrival measured by five AE sensors.

Becker`s nevus is acquired pigmentary disorder characterized by circumscribed hyperpigmentation with hypertrichosis. It often has association with a pilar smooth muscle hamartoma, melanoma and fungal infection. The lesion enlarges irregularly especially in adolescence under the effect of androgen. We here report a case of a 20-year-old male presented with mild pruritic brownish patch on right neck from the age of 5 years. The pigmented lesion gradually accompanied pruritic sensation before 1 year ago. Histologic examination demonstrated Becker`s nevus with superficial dermatomycosis, which stained with D-PAS. Antifungal cream was applied on the pigmented lesion for 2 weeks, as pruritus diminished prominently. There have been few reports about Becker`s nevus associated with fungal infection. However, no definite relationship was revealed between the nevus and fungus in immune-competent adult. The effect of increasing androgen as well as the environment of hairy area was supposed to be the reason of symbiosis of these dermatoses. Thus, dermatologists should be aware that Becker`s nevus can provide favorable environment for fungus especially in adolescence and can be treated with antifungal agent.

Objective To investigate the prognostic factors predicting the recovery of pre-fracture functional mobility, we evaluated this by the use of ambulatory assistive devices in short-term follow-up.Methods Five hundred and fifty-three elderly patients who had undergone hip fracture operations from January 2006 to June 2013 were enrolled in this retrospective study. Clinical characteristics and predicted factors affecting functional recovery, such as the delay of rehabilitation after the operation, were reviewed. The functional status of the gait was classified as either a bedridden state, wheelchair-bound state, walker gait, single cane gait, and self-gait without any ambulatory assistance device. When this functional grade in patients who recovered after the surgery was compared to before the surgery, this state was considered ‘functional recovery’.Results One hundred and ninety-two patients (34.7%) showed recovery of preoperative mobility in the first month after their operation. Multiple logistic regression analysis identified that the following four factors were significantly associated with a deterioration of functional recovery: old age (odds ratio [OR], 0.95; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.92–0.97), delays in rehabilitation after operation (OR, 0.94; 95% CI, 0.89–0.98), the presence of cognitive dysfunction (OR, 0.36; 95% CI, 0.18–0.71), and trochanteric fracturing (OR, 0.58; 95% CI, 0.36–0.94).Conclusion We found that old age, cognitive dysfunction, trochanteric fracture type, and delay of rehabilitation were associated with the deterioration of functional recovery after a hip fracture operation in the short-term. Therefore, early rehabilitation was required to acquire functional recovery after a hip fracture operation in the short-term.
