        Toremifene, an Alternative Adjuvant Endocrine Therapy, Is Better than Tamoxifen in Breast Cancer Patients with CYP2D6*10 Mutant Genotypes

        Purpose Tamoxifen showed individual differences in efficacy under different CYP2D6*10 genotypes. Our study evaluated the prognosis of tamoxifen or toremifene in hormone receptor (HR)–positive breast cancer patients under different genotypes. Materials and Methods CYP2D6*10 genotypes of HR-positive breast cancer patients were determined by Sanger sequencing, and all the patients were divided into tamoxifen group or toremifene group. Results A total of 268 patients with HR-positive breast cancer were studied. The median follow-up time was 72.0 months (range, 5.0 to 88.0 months). Of these, 88 (32.9%), 114 (42.5%), and 66 (24.6%) patients had C/C, C/T, and T/T genotypes, respectively. Among patients who received tamoxifen (n=176), the 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) rate in patients with C/C and C/T genotype was better than that in patients with T/T genotype, and the difference was statistically significant (p < 0.001 and p=0.030, respectively). In patients receiving toremifene, CYP2D6*10 genotype was not significantly associated with DFS (p=0.325). Regardless of genotypes, the 5-year DFS rate was higher in patients treated with toremifene than in patients with tamoxifen (91.3% vs. 80.0%, p=0.011). Compared with tamoxifen, toremifene remained an independent prognostic marker of DFS in multivariate analysis (hazard ratio, 0.422; p=0.021). For all the 180 patients with CYP2D6*10 C/T and T/T genotypes, the 5-year DFS rate was significantly higher in the toremifene group than in the tamoxifen group (90.8% vs. 70.1%, p=0.003). Conclusion Toremifene may be an alternative adjuvant endocrine therapy for patients with CYP2D6*10 mutant genotypes.

        Structural, magnetic properties of nickel-substituted strontium W-type ferrites

        Nickel substituted W-type strontium ferrites Sr0.9Ce0.1Zn2-xNixFe16O27 (x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0) were prepared by aceramic method. The specimens exhibited a single-phase W-type structure when the Ni content (x) is 0 ≤ x ≤ 1. With theincreasing content of nickel dopant, the particles exhibited a hexagonal plate-like shape. The saturation magnetization andremanent magnetization increased x from 0.0 to 0.6, then decreased with x > 0.6. The coercivity of specimens increasedgradually for x ≤ 0.2 and then began to decrease from x = 0.3; the coercivity shows a downward trend with the Ni contentcontinuing to increase. Subsequently, as the Ni content increases, there is a downward trend compared to the unsubstitutedspecimens.

        On generalized nonlinear quasivariational inequalities

        In this paper, we introduce a new generalized nonlinear quasivariational inequality and establish its equivalence with a fixed point problem by using the resolvent operator technique. Utilizing this equivalence, we suggest two iterative schemes, prove two existence theorems of solutions for the generalized nonlinear quasivariational inequality involving generalized cocoercive mapping and establish some convergence results of the sequences generated by the algorithms. Our results include several previously known results as special cases.

        Existence and iterative approximations of solutions for strongly nonlinear variational-like inequalities

        In this paper, we introduce and study a new class of strongly nonlinear variational-like inequalities. Under suitable conditions, we prove the existence of solutions for the class of strongly nonlinear variational-like inequalities. By making use of the auxiliary principle technique, we suggest an iterative algorithm for the strongly nonlinear variational-like inequality and give the convergence criteria of the sequences generated by the iterative algorithm.

        Gong Zizhen were been thought “a prose author with no school” by academic circles. However, the fact of Gong Zizhen’s writing prose that tell us: His writing prose not only followed the example of the various schools of thought in pre-Qin, but also imbued with magnificent words, mixed up odd and parallel sentences. The artistic characteristic of Gong had highly corresponded to literary view from Yanghu(阳湖) school’s on prose. Gong often got together with Lu Jilu、Li Zhaoluo、Song Xiangfeng, etc of main writer of Yanghu school, and sown greatest esteem for them. In a sense, Gong was Zhang Huiyan’s second student. Therefore, Gong’s writing prose was affected by Yanghu school, had put Yanghu school’s literary idea into practice, and highly possessed Yanghu school’s artistic characteristic. So it was evident that Gong was not “a prose author with no school”, but he belonged to Yanghu school.

        Cloning and analysis of the molecularly characterized chitinase genes of Daphnia carinata and Simocephalus vetulus

        Daphniidae plays an important role in maintaining the integrity and sustainability of food chains of freshwater ecosystems. However, studies on the intact genes of chitinase in Daphniidae have not been carried out till date. In this study, we obtained the full-length complementary DNA (cDNA) from Daphnia carinata and Simocephalus vetulus, members of the Family Daphniidae, by rapid amplification of cDNA ends and polymerase chain reaction. The two cDNAs were named DcChi and SvChi, respectively. The result showed that DcChi and SvChi were 1404 and 1319 bp in length and they encoded 383 and 382 amino acids, respectively. Based on their cDNA sequences, the genomic structures of the two chitinases were characterized. Sequence analysis revealed that DcChi was composed of three exons and two introns, while SvChi had four exons and three introns. Based on the presence of conserved catalytic domain sequences, the two chitinases could be clustered within the same phylogenetic group. Homology analysis showed that the two deduced proteins had a high similarity (65–88%) to those from published species in Family Daphniidae and a low similarity to those from the species in Class Malacostraca Subclass Copepoda (38–42%) and those from the species in Class Insecta Order Diptera (33–38%). Based on the results of multiple alignments of chitinases, we designed peptides that were specific to chitinases from the Family Daphniidae. The quantitative real time PCR analysis indicated that the transcript level of the chitinase gene increased with the growth of the two species.

        Improvement of the Steroid Dihydroxylation Efficiency from Dehydroepiandrosterone Using a Substrate Pre-induction Biotransformation Process

        This study investigated the effects of hydroxylase cyptochrome P450 inducers on the efficiency of the biotransformation of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) to 3β, 7α, 15α-trihydroxy-5-androsten-17-one (7α,15α-diOHDHEA)by Colletotrichum lini ST-1. Special attention was given to the substrate DHEA being the best inducer and the fact that it could improve the yield of 7α, 15α-diOHDHEA. Based on the effects of the DHEA pre-induction phases and additional concentrations on 7α, 15α-diOHDHEA production, a substrate pre-induction process was established as follows: 2 g/L DHEA was added for the first time after 12 h of inoculation, followed by the second addition of 6 g/L DHEA after 12 h later. The results showed that this substrate pre-induction process improved the content of cytochrome P450 and that the 7α, 15α-diOH-DHEA yield reached 90.1%, which was 26.9%higher than that obtained in the original process.

        Full-coefficient Intelligent Adaptive Position Control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Linear Motor

        Permanent magnet synchronous linear motor (PMLSM) can directly convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. Compared with rotary motors, it can not only reduce the energy consumption of the system but also does not require an intermediate transmission device, which improves the operation accuracy and reduces the energy loss caused by mechanical structures such as gears. Given the increasing requirements for the control speed and accuracy of linear motors, a control method that considers both steady-state and dynamic performance is required. Therefore, this paper designs an intelligent adaptive position controller based on the motor characteristic model, and it can be seen through simulation and experiments that the controller designed in this paper has higher steady-state accuracy and faster response than traditional PI control. Speed and other advantages make the linear motor control system have both high control accuracy, fast response speed, strong robustness and other excellent performances, and can replace the work of traditional rotary motors with linear motors.
