      • Manufacturing Process and Physicochemical Property of Chitosan/Soybean Peptide Nanoparticles

        Jingjing Bai,Jae-Hee Seo,Jiseon Lee,Soojin Kim,SangYoon Lee,JungGyu Lee,Dong-Hyun Park,Hee Jeong Choi,Eun-Young Ko,Mi-Jung Choi 한국산업식품공학회 2016 학술대회 및 심포지엄 Vol.2016 No.10

Soybean peptide (SP) exhibited low intestinal absorption at oral administration due to its fragile structure under gastric digestion. Therefore, we have attempted to encapsulate peptide by cross-linkage interaction between positive charged chitosan (CS) or chitosan oligosaccharide (CSO) and negative charged peptide. The CS (or CSO) with SP nanoparticles were prepared by using ultrasonification technique. The objective of this study was to find the optimal processing method by changing concentration, pH, and homogenizing conditions. We measured physicochemical properties such as particle size, zeta-potential, encapsulation efficiency (EE%), release rate (RR) and antioxidant ability of samples. The results showed that the optimal processing method was using 0.5% (w/v) CSO (diluted by pH 3 Acetic acid buffer) mixed with 0.5% (w/v) SP (diluted by pH 6 buffer) by 9:1 ratio. Afterwards, using high-speed mixer at 12,000 rpm for 3 min, and then passed 2 times through an ultrasonicator (50% power, 3 min). In this way for processing, the particle sizes of CSO/SP nanoparticles were approximately 300 nm, zeta-potential were approximately 45 mV. In addition, the EE% and RR of CS/SP nanoparticles was higher than the CSO/SP nanoparticles. The increase in antioxidant ability of SP was attributed to the affected by CS/CSO microcapsules. In conclusion, this research can befoundation for the manufacturing process of CS/SP nanoparticles, and it was expected that the future application of this nanoparticle in food matrix.

Power Quality Warning of High-Speed Rail Based on Multi-Features Similarity

        Bai, Jingjing,Gu, Wei,Yuan, Xiaodong,Li, Qun,Chen, Bing,Wang, Xuchong The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2015 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.10 No.1

As one type of power quality (PQ) disturbance sources, high-speed rail (HSR) can have major impacts on the power supply grid. Providing timely and accurate warning information for PQ problems of HSR is important for the safe and stable operation of traction power supply systems and the power supply grid. This study proposes a novel warning approach to identify PQ problems and provide warning prompts based on the monitored data of HSR. To embody the displacement and status change of monitored data, multi-features of different sliding windows are computed. To reflect the relative importance degree of these features in the overall evaluation, an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used to analyse the weights of multi-features. Finally, a multi-features similarity algorithm is applied to analyse the difference between monitored data and the reference data of HSR, and PQ warning results based on dynamic thresholds can be analysed to quantify its severity. Cases studies demonstrate that the proposed approach is effective and feasible, and it has now been applied to an actual PQ monitoring platform.

An efficient Automatic Modulation Classification method based on the Convolution Adaptive Noise Reduction network

        Bai Haihai,Huang Ming,Yang Jingjing 한국통신학회 2023 ICT Express Vol.9 No.5

Due to the influence of noise in the received signal in non-cooperative communication, it is difficult for existing Automatic modulation classification methods to balance classification accuracy and model complexity. This paper proposes a novel Convolutional Adaptive Noise Reduction (CANR) network, which consists of an Adaptive Noise Reduction (ANR) module and a Convolutional Feature Extraction (CFE) module. The ANR and CFE modules denoise the combined input and capture the spatiotemporal features in the time series. Experiments on benchmark datasets show that the proposed network has the fewest training parameters and state-of-the-art recognition accuracy under the same conditions.

Effect of a Bacterial Laccase on the Quality and Micro-Structure of Whole Wheat Bread

        Wang Jingjing,Bai Han,Zhang Ran,Ding Guoao,Cai Xuran,Wang Wei,Zhu Guilan,Zhou Peng,Zhang Yan 한국미생물·생명공학회 2023 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.33 No.12

The gluten protein content in whole-wheat flour is low, which affects the elasticity and viscosity of the dough. Enzymatic modification of the protein may result in a network that mimics gluten, which plays an important role in the processing of whole-wheat foods. In this study, the effects of Halomonas alkaliantartica laccase (LacHa) on the quality parameters of whole-wheat bread were investigated. The optimum dosage of LacHa was 4 U/100 g of whole-wheat flour. At this dosage, whole-wheat bread exhibited the best specific volume and optimum texture parameters. Laccase also extended the storage duration of whole-wheat bread. We analyzed the micro-structure of the dough to determine its gluten-free protein extractable rate and free sulfhydryl group content, and verify that LacHa mediates cross-linking of gluten-free proteins. The results demonstrated that the cross-linking of gluten-free protein by LacHa improves the texture of whole-wheat bread. As a flour improver, LacHa has great developmental and application potential in baked-food production.

Power Quality Early Warning Based on Anomaly Detection

        Wei Gu,Jingjing Bai,Xiaodong Yuan,Shuai Zhang,Yuankai Wang 대한전기학회 2014 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.9 No.4

Different power quality (PQ) disturbance sources can have major impacts on the power supply grid. This study proposes, for the first time, an early warning approach to identifying PQ problems and providing early warning prompts based on the monitored data of PQ disturbance sources. To establish a steady-state power quality early warning index system, the characteristics of PQ disturbance sources are analyzed and summed up. The higher order statistics anomaly detection (HOSAD) algorithm, based on skewness and kurtosis, and hierarchical power quality early warning flow, were then used to mine limit-exceeding and abnormal data and analyze their severity. Cases studies show that the proposed approach is effective and feasible, and that it is possible to provide timely power quality early warnings for limit-exceeding and abnormal data.

Production of cyclic adenosine-3',5'-monophosphate by whole cell catalysis using recombinant Escherichia coli overexpressing adenylate cyclase

        Hanjie Ying,Jingjing Xie,Nan Li,Ying He,Yong Chen,Xiaochun Chen,Jianxin Bai,Jinglan Wu 한국화학공학회 2013 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.30 No.4

Adenylate cyclase (EC 4.6.1.1) catalyzes the formation of cyclic adenosine-3',5'-monophosphate (cAMP)from adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP). Recombinant Escherichia coli overexpressing adenylate cyclase was used to synthesize cAMP by whole cell catalysis. Some key parameters were examined during the catalytic process, while pH and Mg2+ were found to influence cAMP production significantly. Optimum conditions were pH 8.52 and 30 oC with 77.2 mM Mg2+ in 100 mM Tris-HCl buffer, including 0.25% Triton-X 100 as detergent and 30 mM pyruvate sodium as enzyme activator for 6 h. 14.93 g/L of cAMP was produced with a conversion rate of 91.5%. The current work provided a potential way for the industrial production of cAMP.

Juvenoids on aphids to prolong optimal stages

        Lai Rongquan,Bai Jingjing,Gu Gang,Zhou Ting,Mi Yuee,Zhang Bang,Han Meng,Bai Jianbao 한국곤충학회 2021 Entomological Research Vol.51 No.3

In recent years, Aphidius gifuensis, a critical parasitoid, has been increasingly used to control Myzus persicae in tobacco. However, problems due to inconsistent emergence and insufficient numbers of A. gifuensis to control M. persicae have arisen in artificial reproduction. Here, we investigated the effects of the juvenoids ZR-512, ZR-777, ZR-515, fenoxycarb and juvenile hormone (JH) III on the performance of M. persicae, the activities of molting enzymes and parasitism rates. The aim was to identify juvenoids that may prolong the ‘arrived too early’ optimal stages of M. persicae for A. gifuensis parasitism to address the problems mentioned above. The results showed that the developmental durations of 2nd- and 3rd-instar nymphs of the parental (F0) and offspring (F1) generations of M. persicae were significantly prolonged by juvenoid treatment. The instar durations ranged from 4.00 to 13.67 h for the parental generation and from 8.00 to 32.00 h for the offspring. M. persicae lifespan was not significantly affected by the juvenoids, whereas fecundity was. Additionally, the phenoloxidase and chitinase contents and activities in M. persicae were significantly reduced by the juvenoids, whereas the parasitism rate of A. gifuensis on M. persicae was unaffected. Our study provides information that can help prolong the ‘arrived too early’ period of effective parasitism of M. persicae nymphs by A. gifuensis and thereby benefit the large-scale artificial reproduction of A. gifuensis. These findings will enhance the biological control of M. persicae and highlight the mechanism by which juvenoids affect M. persicae development by regulating phenoloxidase or chitinase.

Intercropping garlic at different planting times and densities for insect pest or crop yield and value management in tobacco fields

        Rongquan LAI,Chaozhi ZHU,Jingjing BAI,Xiaoting WU,Gang GU,Jianbao BAI,Ting ZHOU,Dingfeng WANG,Hanqing HU,Tianran LIN 한국곤충학회 2020 Entomological Research Vol.50 No.3

Although the densities of tobacco pests have been decreased in garlic-tobacco fields, further studies are needed to judge the effects of garlic transplanting densities or times on tobacco pests in tobacco fields. Therefore, field experiments were conducted in Liancheng County in Longyan City, Fujian Province, in China in 2014 and 2015. Myzus persicae (Sulzer) abundance, the species or abundance ratios of enemies and pests, the intercropping effects and the tobacco yield and crop value showed that the effects of transplanting tobacco 10 days after garlic transplantation at a density of 5.85 individual plants per square meter on pests were stronger than those of other treatments. Aphid abundance was significantly lower in transplanting tobacco 10 days after garlic transplantation at a density of 5.85 individual plants per square meter than in the other treatments. The ratio between enemies and pests in transplanting tobacco 10 days after garlic transplantation at a density of 5.85 individual plants per square meter was higher than those in the other treatments. The intercropping effects of transplanting tobacco 10 days after garlic transplantation at a density of 5.85 individual plants per square meter on Myzus persicae, Spodoptera litura (Fabricius), Heliothis assulta Guenee and Nezara viridula Linnaeus were significantly stronger than those of the other treatments, whereas the effects of transplanting tobacco 15 days after garlic transplantation at a garlic density of 5.85 individual plants per square meter on Agrotis ypsilon (Rottemberg) were significantly stronger. Additionally, the yield and crop value of transplanting tobacco 10 days after garlic was transplanted at a density of 5.85 individual plants m ̅2 were higher than those of the other treatments. Therefore, our study demonstrated that the model of transplanting tobacco 10 days after garlic was transplanted at a density of 5.85 individual plants m ̅2 is an optimal management strategy to control flue-cured tobacco pests and to acquire higher crop yield in garlic-tobacco fields.
