Attapulgite/carbon composites as a recyclable adsorbent for antibiotics removal
Jie Tang,Li Zong,Bin Mu,Yuru Kang,Aiqin Wang 한국화학공학회 2018 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.35 No.8
We evaluated the adsorption performance of attapulgite/carbon (APT/C) composite as reusable adsorbents for antibiotics. APT/C composite was first synthesized by one-step calcination based on the spent bleaching earth after bleaching of vegetable oil, and followed by a thermal regeneration after adsorption of antibiotic at different temperatures. Antibiotics adsorption results revealed that APT/C composites prepared at 300 oC exhibited high adsorption capacity and fast equilibrium. Thermal regeneration proved to be an efficient methodology for recycling the spent antibiotic- loaded APT/C composites. After the ten-time continuous adsorption-calcination process, the removal ratios of the recycled adsorbents still retained around 67.3% and 62.9% for chlortetracycline and tetracycline, respectively. The conjugation of the adsorption and regeneration results suggested that combining the advantages of APT and carbon species provided a feasible strategy to fabricate a promising adsorbent with the desirable adsorption and regeneration properties for removal of antibiotics in the future.

Golgi phosphoprotein 2 (GOLPH2) is a very important biomarker in a variety of diseases. Its biological function is not clear, particularly in gastric cancer. To investigate the role of GOLPH2 in human gastric cancer, and determine its effect on the Th1 lymphocyte response, its expression and that of IL-12A were measured by real-time PCR and immunohistochemistry. The relationship between GOLPH2 and IL-12A was analysed statistically. The effect of GOLPH2 on the Th1 lymphocyte response was investigated with an in vitro co-culture system. The results showed that in human gastric cancer, the expression of GOLPH2 was significantly higher and the expression of IL-12A was lower than in normal gastric mucosal tissues, and the expression levels of GOLPH2 and IL-12A were negatively correlated. In addition, obvious down-regulation of the Th1 response was observed when lymphocytes were co-cultured with gastric cancer SGC7901 cells over-expressing GOLPH2. GOLPH2 down-regulated the expression of IL-12A, and inhibited the expression of TNF-${\alpha}$ and IFN-${\gamma}$. The results indicated that GOLPH2 down-regulates the Th1 response via suppression of IL-12A in human gastric cancer, and this might provide a target for the prevention and treatment.

In recent years, Motion Graphics is popular in all kinds of media communication platforms with its unique audio-visual language performance effect. Its picture composition follows the development trend of art design, using vivid lens language interpretation, with outstanding dynamic effect and various forms of expression, which is widely used in education, film and television, advertising and other industries. Therefore, the research on the characteristics and expression methods of motion graphics audio-visual language has important theoretical significance and application value. In view of the current insufficient theoretical research of Motion Graphics, first of all, this paper defines Motion Graphics by means of literature research, case study, induction and summary, and carefully combs its evolution process, expounds the complex artistic design features and attributes of Motion Graphics, as well as its close relationship with plane, animation, film and other artistic forms. Then, it discusses the development status of motion graphics, and explores the deep reasons why it is widely used and popular in the current information age. Combined with the specific analysis of the relevant cases of Motion Graphics audio-visual language elements, this paper summarizes the features of Motion Graphics audio-visual language from three aspects of visual expression, narrative mode and voice expression, and expounds that its audio-visual language should be designed from the aspects of form integration, information integration and emotional communication. Finally, the theory of visual and audio language characteristics and expression methods of Motion Graphics is applied to the design of the film “Future Speed In 5G Era”, and relevant theoretical results are tested and adjusted with specific practical cases, aiming to continuously improve the attraction and appeal of Motion Graphics art form.

Continued fenvalerate use has caused serious environmental pollution and requires large-scale remediation. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) was discovered in fenvalerate metabolites degraded by Citrobacter freundii CD-9. Coculturing is an effective method for bioremediation, but few studies have analyzed the degradation pathways and potential mechanisms of cocultures. Here, a DBPdegrading strain (BDBP 071) was isolated from soil contaminated with pyrethroid pesticides (PPs) and identified as Stenotrophomonas acidaminiphila. The optimum conditions for DBP degradation were determined by response surface methodology (RSM) analysis to be 30.9 mg/l DBP concentration, pH 7.5, at a culture temperature of 37.2℃. Under the optimized conditions, approximately 88% of DBP was degraded within 48 h and five metabolites were detected. Coculturing C. freundii CD-9 and S. acidaminiphila BDBP 071 promoted fenvalerate degradation. When CD-9 was cultured for 16 h before adding BDBP 071, the strain inoculation ratio was 5:5 (v/v), fenvalerate concentration was 75.0 mg/l, fenvalerate was degraded to 84.37 ± 1.25%, and DBP level was reduced by 5.21 mg/l. In addition, 12 fenvalerate metabolites were identified and a pathway for fenvalerate degradation by the cocultured strains was proposed. These results provide theoretical data for further exploration of the mechanisms used by this coculture system to degrade fenvalerate and DBP, and also offer a promising method for effective bioremediation of PPs and their related metabolites in polluted environments.

Two new high-nitrogen energetic compounds ZTO·2H2O and ZTO(phen)·H2O have been synthesized (where ZTO = 4,4-azo-1,2,4-triazol-5-one and phen = 1,10-phenanthroline). The crystal structure, elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy are presented. Compound 1 ZTO·2H2O crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system with space group Pnna and compound 2 ZTO(phen)·H2O in the triclinic crystal system with space group P-1. In ZTO(phen)·H2O, there is intermolecular hydrogen bonds between the -NH group of ZTO molecule (as donor) and N atom of phen molecule (as acceptor). Thermal decomposition process is studied by applying the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermo thermogravimetric differential analysis (TG-DTG). The DSC curve shows that there is one exothermic peak in ZTO·2H2O and ZTO(phen)·H2O, respectively. The critical temperature of thermal explosion (Tb) for ZTO·2H2O and ZTO(phen)·H2O is 282.21 oC and 195.94 oC, respectively.
Thermo-/pH-dual responsive properties of hyperbranched polyethylenimine grafted by phenylalanine
Jie Chen,Jialiang Xia,Huayu Tian,Zhaohui Tang,Chaoliang He,Xuesi Chen 대한약학회 2014 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.37 No.1
Novel thermo- and pH-dual responsiveamphiphilic copolymers were synthesized based on hyperbranchedpolyethylenimine (PEI) by grafting L-phenylalanine. The phenylalanine-modified PEI exhibited lowercytotoxicity than commercial PEI. These copolymersshowed the phenomena of phase transitions in response topH and temperature. The dilute copolymer solution atlower pH displayed the higher LCST. Furthermore, LCSTincreased with the increasing of phenylalanine graftingdensity. LCST of these copolymers were tunable from 7.2to 59.6 C by the degree of amidation and pH of solution. DLS and TEM experiments certified that the copolymerchains aggregated to form small size particles as increasingthe temperature above LCST. For these reasons, theobtained smart copolymers were considered to be potentialgene/drug carriers in biomedical field.
