<P><B>Background</B></P><P>A low serum level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 5 (<I>PCSK5</I>) modulates HDL-C metabolism through the inactivation of endothelial lipase activity.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>Therefore, we analysed the effects of <I>PCSK5</I> on HDL-C and investigated the association between genetic variation in <I>PCSK5</I> and dietary polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) intakes in Korean adults and children. This population-based study which was conducted in South Korea included 4205 adults (43% male) aged 40–69 years and 1548 children (48.6% boys) aged 8–13 years. Dietary intake was assessed using a semiquantitative food frequency questionnaire in adults and modified 3-day food records in children.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>After adjustments for age and body mass index, we identified a significant association between SNP rs1029035 of the <I>PCSK5</I> gene and HDL-C concentrations specifically for men in both populations (adults, p=0.004; children, p=0.003; meta, p=7×10<SUP>−4</SUP>). Additionally, the interaction between the <I>PCSK5</I> rs1029035 genotype and dietary polyunsaturated fatty acids intake influenced serum HDL-C concentrations in men (adults, p=0.001; children, p=0.008). The deleterious effect of the C allele on serum HDL-C was present only when dietary PUFA intake was less than the dichotomised median level (adults, p=0.011; children, p=0.001). Serum HDL-C concentrations were decreased in men with the C allele genotype and low consumption of dietary PUFA including n-3 and n-6.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>According to these results, men carrying of the C allele were associated with low HDL-C concentrations and might exert beneficial effects on HDL-C concentrations following consumption of a high-PUFA diet.</P>

Applications in context-aware computing environment will be connected to wireless network and various device. According to, recklessness approach of information resource make trouble to system. So, access authority management is very important issue both information resource and adapt to system through founding security policy to need a system. But, existing security model is easy of approach to resource through simply user ID and password. This model has a problem that is not concerned about user's environment information. We propose to model of automated context-aware access control that can more efficiently control about resource through inference and judgment of context information that collect user's information and user's environment context information in order to ontology modeling.

한국은 2010년 OECD DAC에 가입한 신흥 원조공여국으로서 지난 10여년간 정부주도로 빠르게 원조 규모를 증액했다. 하지만 원조 공여에 대한 대중의 태도에 대한 심도있는 분석은 거의 없었다. 본 연구는 2014년 성인 1,000명을 대상으로 한 원조인식조사 결과를 이용하여, 개인의 원조 지지 확률에 미치는 요인을 순서형 프로빗모형으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 다른 공여국과 마찬가지로 고소득, 고학력, 전문직이 원조를 지지할 확률이 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 그런데 이들은 지지 동기에서 다른 계층에 비해 보편적 인류애보다 국익증대 효과를 더 중요하게 고려하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 다른 공여국과 달리 종교나 기부활동과 같은 이타주의적 성향은 원조 지지에 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. Korea, an emerging donor, has been expanding its foreign aid since it joined the OECD DAC in 2010. Few studies, however, statistically analyze public attitudes toward aid-giving. This study examines what factors influence an individual's support for aid, using survey data for 1,000 adult Koreans in 2014. The ordered probit is used to identify determinants of the probability of aid support. The results show that adults with longer schooling year, more income, and a professional job demonstrate more supportive attitudes toward aid-giving. This finding is consistent with findings in other donor countries. However, it is notable that the more supportive groups in Korea tend to consider national interest impacts of aid more than humanitarian motivations. As well, Korea is distinguished from different donors in that religiosity and donation activity of an individual do not significantly affect his or her support for aid.
The clinicopathological differentiation between Pityrosporum folliculitis and acneiform eruption

Background: It is challenging for clinicians to distinguish between Pityrosporum folliculitis (P. folliculitis) and acneiform eruption based on clinical and histological features. The studies of histopathologic differences between P. folliculitis and acneiform eruption have been poorly described. Objectives: We sought to distinguish between P. folliculitis and acneiform eruption on a clinicopathologic basis. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the histology of hematoxylin-eosin-stained sections obtained from 52 patients diagnosed with P. folliculitis and acneiform eruption. Results: The presence of fungal spores in follicular lumen was more consistent with a diagnosis of P. folliculitis. Intrafollicular inflammation, irregular pattern of keratin plugging, nuclear dust in follicular lumen favored a diagnosis of acneiform eruption. There was no difference in perifollicular inflammatory cell infiltration between P. folliculitis and acneiform eruption. Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that a significant difference exists in the presence of necrotic keratinocytes in the follicular wall, intrafollicular constituents, and inflammatory cell infiltration between P. folliculitis and acneiform eruption. And it is thought that the necrotic keratinocytes have a key role on these differences. These findings might be helpful in understanding pathogenesis and differential diagnosis of P. folliculitis and acneiform eruption.
