Design Flexible Deduplication Filesystem on Personal Computer Environment

Data management in a personal computer environment is vulnerable rather than a largescale system such as a data center. In this paper, we propose FDFS (Flexible Deduplication File System) that performs file deduplication for effective data management. In FDFS, chunks are differently designed to perform flexible deduplication according to the characteristics of the file, and it is confirmed that the efficiency of the existing deduplication file system is improved compared with the actual execution time using another deduplication method depending on the data size.
A case of cataract surgery using phacoemulsification in a 12-year-old poodle

Cataracts occur commonly in older dogs, which can lead to partial or complete vision loss. In the present study, a 12-year-old male poodle presented for evaluation of ocular sinister (OS) cataract. This study was a clinical case report on the process of performing surgery using phacoemulsification (PHACO) and the problems that arise in patient diagnosed with OS cataract. In the oculus dexter (OD), the artificial eye was inserted because there was no electroretinography (ERG) response. In the OS, the ERG was 51.6 μV, so operation was performed because the visual pathway function remained. Slit-lamp biomicroscopy of the OS showed complete loss of vision as a hypermature cataract and that the lens was hardened. During the cataract surgery using PHACO, visco-elastic agents were used to maintain the shape of the eyeball, and the PHACO procedure took 3.13 minutes. The hardened lens and visco-elastic agents were removed from the eye through PHACO surgery, and the operation was completed by inserting an intraocular lens (IOL). As a result of managing IOP for 2 months after surgery, it remained stable at a maximum of 19 mmHg, and no postoperative ocular hypertension (POH) occurred. Currently, one year has passed since the operation, and the dog maintains its daily life with its left eye without any problems.

<P>Pyramidal neurons in region I of hippocampus proper (CA1) are particularly vulnerable to excitotoxic processes following transient forebrain ischemia. Kynurenic acid (KYNA) is a small molecule derived from tryptophan when this amino acid is metabolized through the kynurenine pathway. In the present study, we examined the effects of ischemic preconditioning (IPC) on the immunoreactivity and protein levels of KYNA following 5 min of transient forebrain ischemia in gerbils. The animals were randomly assigned to 4 groups (sham-operated group, ischemia-operated group, IPC + sham-operated group and IPC + ischemia-operated group). IPC was induced by subjecting the gerbils to 2 min of ischemia followed by 1 day of recovery. In the ischemia-operated group, we observed a significant loss of pyramidal neurons in the CA1 stratum pyramidale (SP) at 5 days post-ischemia; however, in the IPC + ischemia-operated group, the pyramidal neurons were well protected. KYNA immunoreactivity in the SP of the ischemia-operated group was significantly altered following ischemia-reperfusion and was very low 5 days following ischemia-reperfusion. In the IPC + ischemia-operated group, however, KYNA immunoreactivity was constitutively detected in the SP of the CA1 region after the ischemic insult. We also found that the alteration pattern of the KYNA protein level in the CA1 region following ischemia was generally similar to the immunohistochemical changes observed. In brief, our findings demonstrated that IPC maintained and even increased KYNA immunoreactivity in the SP of the CA1 region following ischemia-reperfusion. The data from the present study thus indicate that the enhancement of KYNA expression by IPC may be necessary for neuronal survival following transient ischemic injury.</P>
부정유합된 상악골 골절로 인해 발생한 부정교합의 상악골 수평 골절단술과 후방분절 골절단술에 의한 치험례

저자등은 영남대학교 영남의료원 치과로 교통사고후 부정유합으로 인한 부정교합으로 저작곤란을 호소하며 내원한 환자를 상악골 수평 및 후방 분절 골절단술을 시행해 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 교통 사고후 부정유합된 상악골을 수평 및 후방 분절 골절단술을 이용하여 전방 치열의 반대교합과 구치부의 개교 및 scissor's bite를 해소했다. 2. 술후 감염등 특기할 만한 합병증은 발생하지 않았으며 술후의 종창은 48시간이 지나면서 서서히 감소했다. 3. 수술후 악간고정은 8주간 시행했으며 악간고정 제거 1주후 정상적인 개구가 가능했다. 4. 절단된 상악골 고정시 확고한 고정과 회귀성향을 줄이기 위해 miniplates로 고정했다. This is a case report of correction of malunioned maxilla after traffic accident by Le Fort I osteotomy and posterior segmental osteotomy. By this procedure, authors obtained the following results. 1. The malinioned maxilla after traffic accident which had anterior crossbite, posterior open bite and scissor's bite were corrected by Le Fort I osteotomy and posterior segmental osteotomy. 2. No postoperative infection and specific complication were seen in this case. 3. Postoperative intermaxillary fixation was maintained for 8 weeks. And then, the patient could open his mouth in normal range after a week of intermaxillary fixation removal. 4. For rigid fixation and reducing relapse, the osteotomized maxilla was fixed with miniplates.

<P>We modified gold arrays with a glutathione (GSH) surface, and investigated high-throughput protein interactions with a spectral surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor. We fabricated the GSH exterior on gold surfaces by successive modification with aminoethanethiol, 4-maleimidobutyric acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester and GSH. We immobilized GST-Rac1, GST-RhoA, the GST-Rho-binding domain of rhotekin and the GST-p<SUP>21</SUP>-binding domain of PAK1 onto the GSH surface, and observed specific antigen-antibody interactions on the GST-fusion protein arrays. We determined the expression of GST-fusion proteins in Escherichia coli on the GSH surface with the SPR biosensor. We then analyzed the interactions of tissue transglutaminase (tTGase), a Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>-dependent enzyme, with RhoA and Rac1 on the GST-fusion protein arrays with the SPR biosensor. We found that tTGase interacted with RhoA and Rac1 in a Ca<SUP>2+</SUP>-dependent manner, indicating that the interactions were dependent on tTGase activity. In addition, transamidation of Rac1 by tTGase was dependent on Ca<SUP>2+</SUP> concentration. We obtained similar results with GST pull-down assays. Thus, protein arrays prepared on the GSH surface provide a useful system for the high-throughput analysis of GST-fusion protein expression and activity-dependent protein interactions with the spectral SPR biosensors.</P>
