A RESOLVENT APPROACH FOR SOLVING A SET-VALUED VARIATIONAL INCLUSION PROBLEM USING WEAK-RRD SET-VALUED MAPPING

        Ahmad, Iqbal,Ahmad, Rais,Iqbal, Javid The Kangwon-Kyungki Mathematical Society 2016 한국수학논문집 Vol.24 No.2

The resolvent operator approach of [2] is applied to solve a set-valued variational inclusion problem in ordered Hilbert spaces. The resolvent operator under consideration is called relaxed resolvent operator and we demonstrate some of its properties. To obtain the solution of a set-valued variational inclusion problem, an iterative algorithm is developed and weak-RRD set-valued mapping is used. The problem as well as main result of this paper are more general than many previous problems and results available in the literature.

Sequence Analysis of Hypothetical Proteins from Helicobacter pylori 26695 to Identify Potential Virulence Factors

        Ahmad Abu Turab Naqvi,Farah Anjum,Faez Iqbal Khan,Asimul Islam,Faizan Ahmad,Md. Imtaiyaz Hassan 한국유전체학회 2016 Genomics & informatics Vol.14 No.3

Helicobacter pylori is a Gram-negative bacteria that is responsible for gastritis in human. Its spiral flagellated body helps in locomotion and colonization in the host environment. It is capable of living in the highly acidic environment of the stomach with the help of acid adaptive genes. The genome of H. pylori 26695 strain contains 1,555 coding genes that encode 1,445 proteins. Out of these, 340 proteins are characterized as hypothetical proteins (HP). This study involves extensive analysis of the HPs using an established pipeline which comprises various bioinformatics tools and databases to find out probable functions of the HPs and identification of virulence factors. After extensive analysis of all the 340 HPs, we found that 104 HPs are showing characteristic similarities with the proteins with known functions. Thus, on the basis of such similarities, we assigned probable functions to 104 HPs with high confidence and precision. All the predicted HPs contain representative members of diverse functional classes of proteins such as enzymes, transporters, binding proteins, regulatory proteins, proteins involved in cellular processes and other proteins with miscellaneous functions. Therefore, we classified 104 HPs into aforementioned functional groups. During the virulence factors analysis of the HPs, we found 11 HPs are showing significant virulence. The identification of virulence proteins with the help their predicted functions may pave the way for drug target estimation and development of effective drug to counter the activity of that protein.

Allgrove (Triple A) Syndrome: A Case Report from the Kashmir Valley

        Raiz Ahmad Misgar,Nazir Ahmad Pala,Mahroosa Ramzan,Arshad Iqbal Wani,Mir Iftikhar Bashir,Bashir Ahmad Laway 대한내분비학회 2015 Endocrinology and metabolism Vol.30 No.4

Allgrove (Triple A) syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by cardinal features of adrenal insufficiency due to adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) resistance, achalasia, and alacrimia. It is frequently associated with neurological manifestations like polyneuropathy. Since its first description by Allgrove in 1978, approximately 100 cases have been reported in the literature. Here we report an 18-year-old boy diagnosed as having Allgrove syndrome, with ACTH resistant adrenal insufficiency, achalasia, alacrimia, and severe motor polyneuropathy. Alacrimia was the earliest feature evident at the age of 8 years. He presented with achalasia and adrenal insufficiency at 12 and 18 years respectively and developed neurological symptoms in the form of severe muscle wasting at the age of 15 years. Patients with Allgrove syndrome usually manifest adrenal insufficiency and achalasia during first decade of life. Our patient manifested adrenal insufficiency and achalasia in the second decade and manifested neurological dysfunction before adrenal dysfunction.

Biocompatibility of cobalt iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles in male rabbits

        Furhan Iqbal,Tanveer Ahmad Tabish,Muhammad Naeem Ashiq,Muhammad Azeem Ullah,Shahid Iqbal,Muhammad Latif,Muhammad Ali,Muhammad Fahad Ehsan 한국화학공학회 2016 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.33 No.7

Present study was conducted to study the in vivo biocompatibility of cobalt iron oxide magnetic nano-particles (CoFe2O4 MNPs) in rabbits. CoFe2O4 MNPs were synthesized by the conventional micro emulsion technique in crystallite size range of 30 to 50 nm. The lattice constant (a) and cell volume were found to be 8.386 Å and 589.75 Å3, respectively, revealed by XRD. Subject animals were divided in three groups--low dose, high dose and control group without nanoparticles implantation for biocompatibility evaluation. CoFe2O4 was intraperitoneally implanted in rabbits: low dose (1mg CoFe2O4/Kg body weight) and high dose (10mg CoFe2O4/Kg body weight). Blood, serum and histological study of vital organs (liver, heart, kidney and spleen) were carried out in seven days of time protocol after sacrificing of animals. Results indicated that CoFe2O4 had drastically affected the blood chemistry in a dose-dependent manner as RDWa (P=0.01), Platelet (P<0.001) and Plateletcrit (P<0.001) concentrations reduced significantly in low dose and high dose CoFe2O4 treatments as compared to sham treated control group. Histological analysis revealed that CoFe2O4 exposure resulted in disordered and abnormal histology of liver, kidney and that of muscles at surgical site. It is concluded that CoFe2O4 has low biocompatibility and higher toxicity levels in living system at the applied doses.

Salvatrione : A Diterpene-monoterpene Conjugate from Salvia bucharica

        Viqar Uddin Ahmad,Muhammad Zahid,Muhammad Shaiq Ali,Amir Reza Jassbi,Shakeel Ahmad,Zulfiqar Ali,Muhammad Zafar Iqbal 한국생약학회 2000 Natural Product Sciences Vol.6 No.2

Salvia bucharica belonging to the family Lamiaceae (Labiatae), afforded a novel terpenoid (1) named as salvatrione. The structure of 1 was elucidated through extensive 2-D NMR experiments and the biogenetic pathway of 1 has also been proposed. On biogenetic grounds, 1 may be considered to be a pseudo-triterpenoid as it is derived from the coupling of mono/diterpenic units and not from squalene.

Morpho-Anatomical Responses of Trigonella foenum graecum Linn. to Induced Cadmium and Lead Stress

( Syed Hilal Ahmad ),( Zafar Reshi ),( Javed Ahmad ),( Muhammad Iqbal ) 한국식물학회 2005 Journal of Plant Biology Vol.48 No.1

Effect of different concentrations of cadmium (0, 5, 15, 30, 50 ㎍/g of soil) and lead (0, 25, 50, 100, 200 ㎍/g of soil) on morphological and anatomical features of Trigonella foenum graecum Linn. was studied at pre-flowering, flowering and post flowering stages. Morphological attributes, like number of leaves per plant, total leaf area of the plant and single leaf area, dry mass of stem, root and leaf, length of shoot, root and plant, size of stomata and stomatal pore, and the density of stomata on both epidermises were significantly reduced under metal stress at all the developmental stages. Trichome length on both epidermises increased while their density decreased under metal stress. Under cadmium stress, proportion of pith and vasculature decreased but cortex increased in the stem. Under lead stress, proportion of pith and vasculature increased but cortex decreased in the stem. In the root, proportion of vasculature and pith increased and cortex decreased in response to both cadmium and lead stresses. Dimensions of vessel element and xylem fibre in the wood of stem and root decreased under the cadmium and lead stresses. Decrease in density of vessel element in the stem and root with advancement of age was more pronounced in plants grown under cadmium and lead stresses.

Impact of Sulphur and Nitrogen Application on Seed and Xanthotoxin Yield in Ammi majus L.

        Ahmad, Saif,Jamal, Arshad,Fazili, Inayat Saleem,Alam, Tanweer,Khan, Mather Ali,Kamaluddin, Kamaluddin,Iqbal, Mohd,Abdin, Malik Zainul The Korean Society of Crop Science 2007 한국작물학회지 Vol.52 No.2

Field experiments were conducted to determine the physiological and biochemical basis of the interactive effect of sulphur (S) and nitrogen (N) application on seed and xanthotoxin yield of Ammi majus L. Six treatments were tested ($T_1$ = control-without manure and fertilizers, $T_2$ = manure @ 9 kg $plot^{-1}-10\;t\;ha^{-1},\;T_3=A_0N_{50}K_{25}P_{25},\;T_4=S_{40}N_{50}K_{25}P_{25},\;T_5=S_{40}N_{100}K_{25}P_{25}\;T_6=S_{20+20}N_{50+50}K_{25}P_{25})$). Nitrate reductase (NR) activity and ATP-sulphurylase activity in the leaves were measured at various phonological stages, as the two enzymes catalyze rate-limiting steps of the assimilatory pathways of nitrate and sulphate, respectively. The activities of these two enzymes were strongly correlated with seed and xanthotoxin yield. The highest nitrate reductase activity, ATP-sulphurylase activity and xanthotoxin yield were achieved with the treatment $T_4$. Any variation from this treatment decreased the activity of these enzymes, resulting in a reduction of the seed and xanthotoxin yield in Ammi majus L. The higher seed and xanthotoxin yield achieved in Ammi majus L. at treatment $T_4$ could be due to optimization of leaf soluble protein and photosynthetic rate, as these parameters are Influenced by S and N assimilation.
