        Final report of key comparison CCM.G-K1: International comparison of absolute gravimeters ICAG2009

        <P>The International Comparison of Absolute Gravimeters 2009 (ICAG2009) was carried out in September 2009 at the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM). The ICAG2009 and its data processing were performed in accordance with the agreed Technical Protocol which was approved by the Steering Committee. The pilot laboratory (BIPM) evaluated the final results of the key comparison from the measurements made at the BIPM in the framework of ICAG2009. A pilot study run in parallel allowed evaluation of the offsets for absolute gravimeters from institutes not fulfilling the requirements for participating in the key comparison. The gravity values at the five stations, and the offsets for each absolute gravimeter, were obtained by a weighted least squares fit. The results indicate that all participating gravimeters are consistent within their expanded uncertainties.</P><P>Main text.To reach the main text of this paper, click on Final Report.       • Bleomycin이 모낭의 기질세포에 미치는 영향에 관한 전자현미경적 연구

        Bleomycin, one of antibiotic drug, produced by a strain of Streptomyces verticillus is used effectively in the treatment of various cancer. It is well known that bleomycin acts on the cancer cell by binding to nuclear DNA, causing single-strand scission and in turn inhibition DNA synthesis. Although bleomycin is very beneficial to cancer patient, it may damage ot normal cells. The author has undertaken this study to pursue the morphological changes of hair folliclis caused by bleomycin injection. Healthy male mice of DDY strain weighing about 20 gm were used in this experiment. Animals of the experimental group were intraperitoneally administrated with 15mg/kg bleomycin diluted in 0.2ml distilled water for injection by bid for 7days. The experimental animals were sacrificed at 1,3days, and 1,2 weeks after administration of bleomycin and specimens, skin of abdomen, were rejected. Some specimens were fixed 10% formalin for 24 hours and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. The others were prefixed in 2% glutaraldehyde-2.5% paraformaldehyde solution at 4℃ during 2-4 hours and postfixed in 1% osmium tetroxide solution. Ultrathin sections were made and double stained with urany1 acetate and lead citrate. These preparations were observed with light microscope and electron microscope (Hitachi H-600), respectively. The results were as follows: 1.The number and length of the hair folliclis were decreased and number of matrix cells were also reduced in skin in 1 day, 3 day and 1 week groups after administration of bleomycin. In 2 week group, hair follicles were similar to those of the normal control group. 2.Swollen mitochondria, mitochondria with indistinct double membranes and mitochondrial cristae, and degenerated mitochondria with horse-shoe shape were recognized cristae, and degenerated mitochondria with horse-shoe shape were recognized in 1 day, 3 day and 1 weed groups after bleomycin administration. In 2week group, swollen mitocondria and mitochondria with disorganized mitochondrial cristae and double membranes were observed. 3.The amounts of free ribosomes were markedly reduced in 1 day group after administration of bleomycin and slightly decreased in 3 day and 1 week groups. In 2 week group, distribution of free fibosomes were similar to that of the normal control gorup. 4.The cisternae of the rough endoplasmic reticulum with detachment of membrane-bound ribosomes were slihtly dilated in 1 day, 3 day groups after administration of bleomycin. In 2 week group, rough endoplasmic reticulum were similar to that of the normal control group. 5.A number of autophagic vacuoles were observed in 1 day, 3 day groups after administration of bleomycin and whorled membranous body was seen in 1 week group. Consequently, it is suggested that bleomycin would induce degenerative changes on the matrix cells of the hair follicle in mouse skin, but these damage are recovered as time goes by.

        음부를 포함한 다발성 다유방증의 치험례

        Accessory breast tissue is developed from persistence of breast tissue along the milk line which first beomes apparent at the 6th week of embryo and usually atrophies except for the thoracic area until the 9th week. It is much more common than amastia and occurs in approximately from 2 to 6 percent of the population. But multiple polymastia involving labia major is quite rare. We experienced one case of multiple polymastia involving labia majora & both axilla and 6 cases of polymastia & polyhelia, so we are willing to report our cases with a review of literature.

        해면질 장골이식을 이용한 치조열의 치료

        In a complete primary unilateral cleft of the primary and secondary palates, there is frequently a significant bony defect in the maxilla. The most significant skeletal changes in patients with clefts are maxillary retrusion and collapse of the maxillary segment. The alveolar cleft in the disrupted dental arch frequently accentuates facial disfigurement because the anterior maxillary teeth may be malpositioned, malformed, or congenitally absent. Defects or hypoplastic pyriform aperture is a major external factor which causes the unilateral cleft lip nise deformity. It also causes deformities of alar cartilage and nasal tip and septal deviation, which has been well explained with the concept of 'Tilted Tropod' by hogan and Converse in 1971. The reason for closing alveolar clefts with a bone graft is to provide the maxillary arch stability and to create bony matrix through which the teeth can erupt and to construct the plateform of the alar base for improving nasal symmetry. For the closing of the alveolar cleft, an autogenous rib bone, a tibial bone or recently calvarial bone have been used, but serious donor site morbidity and poor source of recently calvarial bone have been used, but serious donor site morbidity and poor source of cancellous bone turned out to be problems. The authors used a cancellous iliac bone graft on 20 patients for the recovery of the alveolar cleft. Of these, 18 patients were in permanent dentition and 2 patients were in mixed dentition. Approximately 95 percent of the authors' patients have undergone successful closure of the alveolar defect and noticed teeth eruption through the grafted bone in all patients who grafted in mixed dentition. We performed external rhinoplasty upon the symmetric aperture corrected with cancellous iliac bone graft and achieved satisfactory aesthetic results, thus we represent our methods and cases with review of the literature.

        Yarrowia lipolytica TH65가 생산하는 Alkaline Proteinase의 정제 및 특성

        최적조건에서 생산한 효소를 40~65% ammonium sulfate 분획, DEAE-cellulose chromatography, Sephadex G-100과 Sephadex G-75 gel filtration을 이용하여 수율 14%, 15배 정제하였다. 정제효소의 분자량은 SDS-PAGE로 측정한 결과 31,500 정도였고, 최적온도와 최적 pH는 각각 40℃와 8.5~9.0이었다. 대부분의 2가 금속이온은 효소활성을 저해하였으며, 특히 Hg^2+, Zn^2+, Co^2+ 등은 강하게 저해하였다. PMSF는 효소활성을 완전히 저해시켰으며, EDTA, EGTA 및 phenanthroline은 부분적으로 저해시켰으나 Ca^2+을 첨가하면 모두 효소활성이 복원되는 것으로 나타나 metalloprotease는 아닌 것으로 생각되었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 본 효모 Yarrowia lipolytica TH65가 생산하는 효소는 alkaline serine proteinase로 생각된다. An alkaline proteinase produced by Yarrowia lipolytica TH65 was purified by 40~65% ammonium sulfate fractionation, DEAE-cellulose chromatography, and gel filtration with Sephadex G-100 and Sephadex G-75. The purified enzyme was shown as a single ban on SDS-PAGE, and its molecular weight 31,500. Optimum temperature and pH were 40℃ and 8.5~9.0, respectively, and the enzyme was stable below 40℃ and in the pH range of 6~8. The enzyme was strongly inhibited by divalent ions, completely by PMSF, and partially by EDTA, EGTA, and phenanthroline. But the inhibitory effect in the presence of EDTA, EGTA and phenanthroline could be reversed by addition of Ca^2+. Thus, these results indicated that the purified enzyme was an alkaline serine proteinase (E.C. 3.4.21.14).

      • Ortho-Chlorobenzylidene Malononitrile(CS) 이 흰쥐 피부조직에 미치는 조직학적 영향에 관한 연구

        This study was undertaken to describe the fine structural changes of cytoplasmic organelles in epidermal cells, and the changes of volume and localization of collagen type Ⅰ in the dermis of rat skin by CS(Ortho-chlorobenzylidene malononitrile) application. The experimental animals, 100∼150gm of body weight rats(Sprague-Dawley strain), were sacrificed at 12 hours, 24 hours, 3 day and 5 day after CS application on the hair-shaved back skin. The specimens were prepared for ultrastructural findings, ultrathin sections were stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate double stain and observed with Hitachi-600 electron microscrope. The others were incubated with rabbit anti rat type Ⅰ collagen antibody as primary antibody, and Goat anti rabbit IgG antibodies as secondary antibody And advidin-biotin-conjugated(ABC) peroxidase procedure was used. All of specimens for immune reactions were observed with light microscope. The results obtained were as follows. 1 Keratinocytes appeared fully necrotized after 3 days of CS application. The epidermis showed degeneration of basal lamina, enlargement of intercellular spaces and necrotic keratinocytes with vacuole and vesicles. And large keratohyalin granules were seen in the shrunken epidermal cells. 2 At 3 or 5 day after CS treatment, the normal cytoplasmic organelles of keratinocytes began to appear on the basal and prickel cells. 3 At 12 hour an 24 hour after CS treatment. The immune reaction of type Ⅰ collagen showed weak reaction in reticular layer of dermis. But at 3 day and 5 day after CS treatment, moderate immune reaction were seen in throughout the dermis. These results suggest that CS application to rak skin may induce changes of keratinocytes and reductive changes of type Ⅰ collagen in the dermis.
