• ZnO/ZSM-5상에서 저탄소가의 탄화수소로부터 방향족화의 성능향상

        서교택,문세기,김형진 한양대학교 에너지 ·환경기술연구소 1995 에너지·環境技術論文集 Vol.2 No.-

The effect of ZnO added to HZSM-5 catalyst by mechanical mixing in aromatization of n-hexane has been studied. It is shown that HZSM-5 alone is active for aromatization of n-hexane and the activity is enhanced by addition of ZnO to the HZSM-5 catalyst. This suggests that the aromatization on the Zno-added catalysts(ZnO/HZSM-5) is a bifunctional process, in which ZnO seems to catalyze the dehydrogenation of n-hexane. Addition of ZnO makes less change in acidity, crystallography and surface area, but leads to significant change in activity in terms of conversion and selectivity toward aromatics. What is more important, however, is that it prevents the rapid decay of catalyst-activity.

Vol.16 No.2

This study was performed to research the antioxidant activities of Bojungikgitang(補中益氣湯), Soeumin Bojungikgitant(少陰人 補中益氣湯) and its component groups. The experimental group was divided into five groups: Bojungikgitang(B1), Soeumin Bojungikgitang(B2), Bogihyulyak(B0 group), Siho-sengma(B1+) and Gwakhyang-soyeup(B2+). The results were obtained as follows: The level of glucose in control group was considerably increased as much as three times compared with normal group. And in experimental groups, B1 and B2 groups decreased the level of glucose in serum with significancy. And B0, B1+ and B2+ groups also decreased the level of glucose significantly. in vitro; All experimental groups had significant antioxidant activity in linoleic acid system on concentration in comparison with control group, especially B2+ group was higher than any others. In DPPH radical scavenging experiment and inhibitory effect experiment on superoxide generation in xanthine-xanthine oxidase system showed that all experimental groups had some scavenging activity on concentration. In the inhibitory effect experiment on lipid peroxidation reaction in H₂O₂-Fe^2- system showed that each experimental groups had inhibitory effects on lipid peroxidation reaction compared with control group. in vivo; the amounts of lipid peroxide in serum and liver B1 and B2 group were reduced with significancy, and in other groups also were reduced significantly. In hepatic catalase activity test, all experimental groups showed increasing catalase activity significantly but B1 and B2 group with no significancy. In the hepatic glutathione measurement experiment, B1, B2 and B0 groups increased in comparison with control group significantly. And in the activity test of Glutathione- S-transferase, B1, B2 and B0 groups decresed in comparison with control group significantly. As result B1 and B2 groups has exhibited the better antioxidant activities than other groups in vivo. And in component groups, the effects of B0 group were best. These result suggest that in diabetes and antioxidative activity, Bojungikgitant(補中益氣湯) and Soeumin Bojungikgitang(少陰人 補中益氣湯) have strong antioxidant activity with no difference, and it is useful to prevent diabetes which is relevant of peroxidative damage by free radical.

Springback Characteristics of Steel Sheets for Warm U-Draw Bending

Seo, Dae Gyo,Chang, Sung Ho,Lee, Sang Moo 대한금속재료학회 2003 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.9 No.5

The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of springback for various process conditions of the U-draw bending operation. The process variables are the forming temperature and the tool geometry, including punch profile radius (Rp) and die profile radius (Rd). In order to control springback, the use of a warm forming method is applied. For the warm draw-bending, five steps of temperature ranges, from room temperature to 200 ℃, were adopted. Two kinds of steel sheets, cold rolled carbon steel (SCP1, for general purposes in the automobile industries) and TRIP (transformation-induced plasticity) steel, were adopted. TRIP steel was the newly developed high-strength steel sheet. The results indicated that elevated temperature and the geometry of tools in the two kinds of steel sheet affected the springback.

Negative-pressure wound therapy induces endothelial progenitor cell mobilization in diabetic patients with foot infection or skin defects

Seo, Sang Gyo,Yeo, Ji Hyun,Kim, JI Hye,Kim, Ji-Beom,Cho, Tae-Joon,Lee, Dong Yeon Nature Publishing Group 2013 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.45 No.11

Non healing chronic wounds are difficult to treat in patients with diabetes and can result in severe medical problems for these patients and for society. Negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) has been adopted to treat intractable chronic wounds and has been reported to be effective. However, the mechanisms underlying the effects of this treatment have not been elucidated. To assess the vasculogenic effect of NPWT, we evaluated the systemic mobilization of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) during NPWT. Twenty-two of 29 consecutive patients who presented at the clinic of Seoul National Universty Hospital between December 2009 and November 2010 who underwent NPWT for diabetic foot infections or skin ulcers were included in this study. Peripheral blood samples were taken before NPWT (pre-NPWT) and 7–14 days after the initiation of NPWT (during-NPWT). Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) analysis showed that the number of cells in EPC-enriched fractions increased after NPWT, and the numbers of EPC colony forming units (CFUs) significantly increased during NPWT. We believe that NPWT is useful for treating patients with diabetic foot infections and skin ulcers, especially when these conditions are accompanied by peripheral arterial insufficiency. The systemic mobilization of EPCs during NPWT may be a mechanism for healing intractable wounds in diabetic patients with foot infections or skin defects via the formation of increased granulation tissue with numerous small blood vessels.

Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor associated with an unerupted mandibular lateral incisor: a case report

        Seo, Won-Gyo,Kim, Chul-Hwan,Park, Hae-Seo,Jang, Jong-Won,Chung, Woo-Yeol The Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial S 2015 대한구강악안면외과학회지 Vol.41 No.6

Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) is a rare, benign odontogenic tumor that predominantly appears in the second decade of life in female patients. Most AOTs occur in the anterior part of the maxilla and are usually associated with impacted anterior teeth. There are three types of AOT, follicular, extrafollicular, and peripheral, which are classified based on the location of the lesion and its association with the impacted tooth. We report a rare case of AOT associated with an impacted right mandibular lateral incisor in an 11-year-old female patient.

A Study on the Warm Deep Drawability of Sheets in Cr-Coated Die

        Seo, Dae-Gyo,Lee, Jae-Dong,Heo, Young-Moo,Chang, Sung-Ho,Park, Yi-Chun,Kim, Heon-Young The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers 2001 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.15 No.7

Some deep drawing characteristics at elevated temperatures were investigated for the SCPI steel sheets by using a Cr-coated die. For this investigation, six different temperatures between room temperature and 250$\^{C}$, and six different drawing ratios ranging from 2.4 to 2.9 were considered. As a result, the limiting drawing ratio, the maximum drawing force and the maximum drawing depth were found to be affected sensitively by temperature, and more stable through-thickness strain distribution was observed at elevated temperatures. Some experimental results compared favorably with theoretical results obtained by using the finite element method.

Effects of Decoction and Powder of Sipjotang with Jujubae fructus or Licorice on Liver and Kidney

        Seo, In-Gyo,Zhao, Rong-Jie,Park, Eun-Young,Park, Sang-Mi,Choi, Song-I,Kim, Han-Kyun,Park, Sook-Jahr,Kwon, Young-Kyu,Kim, Sang-Chan The Physiological Society of Korean Medicine and T 2007 동의생리병리학회지 Vol.21 No.1

The effects of Jujubae Fructus and Licorice extracts on the main components of Sijotang Euphorbiae Kansui Radix, Daphinis Genkwa Flos, Euphonrbiae Pekinensis Radix (KWD) treatment [KWD decoction (KWDD) and KWD powder (KWDP)] related toxicities were examined in the kidney and the liver. To select more suitable extract which effectively reduce KWD-treatment related toxicities in the body, blood biochemical and histopathological changes induced by KWD were analyzed in the rats which received treament of KWD + Jujubae Fructus or KWD + Licorice. In the present study, no KWD-treatment related blood biochemical and histopathological change in the liver was detected. However, increase of tubules containing hyaline casts and atrophic tubules in the kidney was detected as the indicators of KWDD treatment related nephrotoxicity. Addition of Jujubae Fructus (KWDDJ) or Licorice (KWDDL) extracts effectively inhibited the nephrotoxcity induced by KWDD treatments. More ameliorated effects were acquired by addition of Jujubae Fructus extract (KWDDJ) than Licorice (KWDDL). In KWDP treatment, there was no significant difference in the number of tubules containing hyaline casts in all drug treated groups compared to normal or control group except for high dose of KWDP. Both of Jujubae Fructurs and Licorice reduced high dose of KWDP treatment related nephrotoxicity, and there was no significant difference between KWDPJs and KWDPLs. It is concluded that addition of Jujubae Fructus is more suitable than Licorice in reducing the nephrotoxicty of KWDD, also it is more suitable to taking Sipjotang in the form of powder than decoction.

Foot Drop of Contralateral Limb after Deformity Correction in a Polio Patient: A Case Report

        Seo, Sang Gyo,Park, Jae Young,Kim, Jin-Tae,Kim, Ji-Beom,Lee, Dong Yeon Korean FootAnkle Society 2014 대한족부족관절학회지 Vol.18 No.2

Postpoliomyelitis syndrome is a common neurological disorder that occurs in patients who have experienced paralytic poliomyelitis. Recently, as a result of vaccination against poliovirus, incidence of poliomyelitis is exceedingly low. However, many patients with postpolio syndrome may encounter anesthesia when undergoing surgery, such as for correction of foot deformity and other operations. We report on a 45-year-old woman who experienced paralysis of her contralateral limb after operation on the left foot under spinal anesthesia. Postoperative electromyography/nerve conduction study (EMG/NCS) was performed in order to determine the cause of paralysis. Motor power of the sequelae involved leg showed improvement with time and recovered fully to the preoperative level at six months after the index operation. A precise evaluation, including a physical examination and EMG/NCS, should be performed preoperatively when spinal anesthesia is planned for postpolio syndrome patients.

A Study on The Counter-Flow Cooling Tower Performance Anaysis and Experiments

        Seo, Moo-Gyo,Kim, Young-Soo,Kim, Eun-Pil,Yoon, Jung-In The Society of Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating 2001 International Journal Of Air-Conditioning and Refr Vol.9 No.1

The thermal performance of cooling towers is affected by the temperature of inlet water, wet bulb temperature of entering air and water-air flow rate. In this stud${\gamma}$, the effects of these variables are simulated using NTU-method and experimentally investigated for the counter-flow cooling towers. The simulation program to evaluate these variables which affect the performance of cooling tower was developed. The maximum errors between the results of simulations and experiments were 3.8% under the standard design conditions and 5.4% under the other conditions. The performance was increased up to 46~50% as the water loading was increased from 6.8$m^3/hr{\cdot}m^2$ to 159$m^3/hr{\cdot}m^2$. The range was reduced up to 56~42% when the wet bulb temperature of the entering air was increased from 22${\circ}C$ to 29${\circ}C$.
