A novel adaptive mesh refinement(AMR) strategy based on the Moment-of-Fluid(MOF) method for volume-tracking dynamic interface computation is presented. The Moment-of-Fluid method is a new interface reconstruction and volume advection method using volume fraction as well as material centroid. The adaptive mesh refinement is performed based on the error indicator, the deviation of the actual centroid obtained by interface reconstruction from the reference centroids given by moment advection process. Using the AMR-MOF method, the accuracy of volume-tracking computation with evolving interfaces is improved significantly compared to other published results.

A STABILIZED FINITE ELEMENT COMPUTATION OF FLOW AROUND OSCILLATING 2D BODIES

Numerical study of an oscillating body in incompressible fluid is performed. Stabilized finite element method comprising of Streamline-Upwind/Petrov-Galerkin (SUPG) and Pressure-Stabilizing/Petrov-Galerkin (PSPG) formulations of linear triangular elements was employed to solve 2D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations whereas the motion of the body was considered by incorporating the arbitrary Langrangian-Eulerian(ALE) formulation. An algebraic moving mesh strategy is utilized for obtaining body conforming mesh deformation at each time step. Two tests cases, namely motion of a circular cylinder and of an airfoil in incompressible flow were analyzed. The model is first validated against the stationary cases and then the capability to handle moving boundaries is demonstrated.

본 논문은 1999년 말에 실시된 설문조사자료를 토대로 국내의 이동전화서비스의 가입과 이용에 관한 소비자들의 성향을 분석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 수요함수의 구체적 형태를 가정하는 모수적 접근법(pararnetric approanch)과 함수형태를 가정하지 않는 비모수적 접근법(nonparametric approach)을 제시하였고, 이동전화서비스에 대한 수요를 현재의 가입수요와 이용수요, 그리고 미래의 잠재적 가입수요 등 세 가지로 구분하여 추정하였다. 추정결과, 다른 조건이 일정할 경우 세 가지 수요 모두 젊은 층, 남성, 미혼자, 지장인, 고학력자, 고소득자들에게서 더 크게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 많은 전문가들이 국내의 이동전화수요에 대해 짐작하고 있던 바와 크게 다르지 않은 것이다.
