      • Angelica gigas Nakai 成分의 藥理學的硏究

        Two crystals were obtained from ether extract and saponificated Ether extract of root of Angelica gigas Nakai commonly called "TANG-GUI" in Korea. One crystal (m.p. 110-111℃) which was suggested as coumarine derivative was separated from ether extract of dried root. (Substance A) The other crystal (M.p. 178℃-180℃) which showed furo-coumarine reaction was separated from the saponificated ether extract. (Substance B) The general pharmacological effects of crystal (Substance A) and etherextract (Extract A) were studied and compared, and the following conclusions were obtained: LT50 of Subtance A is 382㎎/㎏., when given to mouse intraperitonially. Motility of excised intestine and uterus of rabbit was augmented by the treatment of Substance A, while Ertract A is inhibitory in same cocentration. Blood pressure of rabbit was elavated by Subtance A and A Extract Extract A stimulated the respiration of rabbit, but Substance A did not show any effect on respiration.

      • Efficient Plant Regeneration from Shoot Tip and Young Leaf in Rhodiola sachalinensis A. Bor.

        The shoot tip and young leaf of Rhodiola sachalinensis were cultured to invest the plant growth regulator condition for callus induction, shoot and root regeneration. When the shoot tip was sterilized in 2.0% of NaOCl for 20min., the contamination rate was the lowest. And the survival rate of the culture material was good in carbenicillin 500mg/L treatment group. Callus was obtained from shoot tip and young leaf segments. NAA 0.1-1.0mg/L and 2,4-D 0.1-0.5mg/L alone treatment were shown to have a good response on callus induction from shoot tip culture. In the case of young leaf culture, NAA and 2,4-D 0.1-0.5mg/L alone treatment were good in callus induction. In culturing shoot tip NAA 0.5mg/L and BA 0.5mg/L, NAA1.0mg/L and BA 0.lmg/L combination treatment was good in shoot regeneration. The regenerated shoots were rooted on MS medium supplemented with NAA and BA combination treatment. Especially, NAA 1.0mg/L and BA 0.1mg/L combination treatment was effective for root regeneration.

        Corydalis remota Fish. ex Max. (Papaveraceae) belonging to the Genera Corydalis is a well known medicinal plant mainly being used as a composotion of anagesic or anticonvulsive remedies of Oriental Medicine. Because the plant may vary depending on the environmental factors, it is reaconable to try plant tissue culture technology as an alternative and stable source of Corydalis aljaloids. In this study, five alkaloids were isolated from the cultures and they were characterized. The spectral data unambiguously trvealed that the isolated compounds were dihydrosanuinarine , protopine, tetrahy-dropalmatine, allocyptopine and ambinine, respectively.

        인천지역 TDI 노출 작업자에서 직업성천식 유병율

        목적 : TDI는 직업성천식을 일으키는 대표적인 물질로 알려져 있다. 과거 TDI에 노출된 작업자들의 천식 발생률을 5~6%가량 보고하였고, 국내에서도 2-20%에 이르는 유병율을 보고한바 있다. 작업환경이 많이 개선되고, 노출량이 감소된 최근에도 TDI에 의한 직업성천식에 대한 보고가 많이 이루어지고 있어, 이에 대한 적극적인 조사와 진단과정을 통해 유병율을 구하고 질병발생의 변화양상을 파악해 보고자 하였다. 방법 : 인천지역에서 특수건강진단을 수행하는 2개 기관의 TDI 노출 근로자 400여명 중, 사업장의 규모가 50인 이상이며 사업주가 연구진행을 허락한 사업장에서 근무하는 근로자 중 직접적으로 TDI에 노출되는 작업에 종사하는 근로자 170명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 이들에 대해 설문지와 산업의학의사의 면담을 통한 작업관련성 평가를 근거로 정밀대상자를 선정하고 이들에 대해 메타콜린 유발시험, TDI 유발시험 등을 수행하여 직업성천식을 확인하였다. 결과 : 설문조사 결과 11명이 직업과 관련하여 천식증상을 보이는 것으로 나타났고(6.9%), 이중 7명에서 메타콜린 유발검사 양성소견을 보였다. TDI에 의한 특이유발시험 결과 1명에서 양성반응이 나타나, 이 집단에서 TDI에 의한 직업성천식의 유병율은 0.58%였다. 결론 : 과거 국내연구에서 TDI에 의한 직업성천식의 유병율이 2~20%에 이르렀던 데 비해, 본 연구에서는 0.58%로 나타났다. 이는 국외 논문에서도 나타나는 경향으로 작업장 노출량 감소로 점차 발생률이 감소하는 양상을 보이고 있다. 그러나 이미 증상이 나타난 근로자들이 부서를 옮기거나, 직장을 그만둠으로 인해 그 유병율이 과소평가되었을 가능성도 있다고 판단된다. Objecdives: This study was carried out to estimate the prevalence of isocyanate-induced occupational asthma in toluene diisocyanate (TDI) exposed workers. Methods: We examined 170 workers who had been directly exposed to TDI through a medical questionnaire, physical examination, and pulmonary function test. Based on screening examination, workers with suspected occupational asthma were selected for further evaluation such as methacholine and TDI challenge tests. Results: Eleven (6.9%) among 170 workers complained of symptoms of occupational asthma. and 7 among these 11 symptomatic workers showed positive responses to the methacholine challenge test (4.1 %). One spray painter was confirmed as having the TDI induced occupational asthma following a positive response to TDI challenge test. Conclusions: The prevalence of TDI-induced asthma was at 0.58% was lower than that for former studies (2-20%). Improved workplace environment, lower level of TDI exposure compared to the past, and the healthy workers effect may have contributed to this low rate of asthma prevalence in workers with TDI exposure.

        A 0.12GHz-1.4GHz DLL-based Clock Generator with a Multiplied 4-phase Clock Using a 0.18um CMOS Process

        A $0.12GHz{\sim}1.4GHz$ DLL-based clock generator with the capability of multiplied four phase clock generation was designed using a 0.18um CMOS process. An adaptive bandwidth DLL with a regulated supply delay line was used for a multiphase clock generation and a low jitter. An extra phase detector (PD) in a reference DLL solves the problem of the initial VCDL delay and achieves a fast lock time. Twice multiplied four phase clocks were generated at the outputs of four edge combiners, where the timing alignment was achieved using a coarse lock signal and the 10 multiphase clocks with T/8 time difference. Those four clocks were combined one more time using a static XOR circuit. Therefore the four times multiplication was achieved. With a 1.8V supply, the rms jitter of 2.1ps and the peak-to-peak jitter of 14.4ps were measured at 1.25GHz output. The operating range is $0.12GHz{\sim}1.4GHz$. It consumes 57mW and occupies 450*325um2 of die area.

        Iridoid-containing Korean Medicinal Plants (Ⅰ)

        Saponins from the Callus Mass of Phytolacca americana

        Strong anti-inflammatory saponins Phytolacca americana (Phytolaccaceae) wereobtained from callus mass derived from the stems and also from that derived from the roots of cultivated Phytolacca americana (which were designated as PAS and PAR, respectively). The callus were grown on Linsmair and Skoog's agar medium supplemented with 1ppm OF 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid. Phytol accoside B and D were obtained from PAS and phytolaccoside A and B from PAR. The thin layer chromatograms of the crude saponins from PAS and PAR were similar to those of original plants. PAS contained phytolaccoside B as a major component while phytolaccoside E was a major saponin in original plants.

        Pharmacological Activities of Iridoids From the Root of Veronicatrum sibiricum

        Veronicastrum sibiricum L. Pennell (Serophu-lariaceae) has been used as a folk medicine treating common cold leucorrohea, rheumatism, cystitis and liver damage, and as cholagogue etc. The present dealt with pharmacological activities of iridoids isolated from the root of this plant. Antimicrobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus faecalis were revealed in minecoside (I) and 6-o-veratryl catalpol ester (II) significantly. A prominent cholagogue activities were shown in EtOAc fraction and compound I. A remarkable decrement of serum transaminase activities and a decrease of blood urea nitrogen contents were shown in CCl₄ treated mice.
