A combined system with PEMFC and reformer is introduced and optimized for the real use of this kind of system in the future. The hydrogen source to operate the PEMFC system is methanol, which needs two parts of methanol reforming reaction and preferential oxidation (PROX) for the hydrogen fuel process in the combined operation PEMFC system. With the optimized methanol steam reforming condition, we tested PROX reactions in various operation temperature from 170 to 270 ℃ to investigate CO concentration data in the reformed gases. Using these different CO concentration, PEMFC performances are achieved at the combined system. Pt/C and Ru promoted Pt/C were catalysts were used for the anode to compare the stability in CO contained gases. The alloy catalyst of PtRu/C shows higher performance and better resistance to CO than the Pt/C at even high CO amount of 200 ppm, indicating a promotion not only to the activity but also to the CO tolerance. Furthermore, in a system point of view, there is a fluctuation in the PEMFC operation due to the unstable fuel supply. Therefore, we also modified the methanol reforming by a scaled up reactor and pressurization to produce steady operation of PEMFC. The optimized system with the methanol reformer and PEMFC shows a stable performance for a long time, which is providing a valuable data for the PEMFC commercialization.

최근 한국은 침체되어 있던 지역 경제의 발전과 더불어 배후지의 활성화까지 꾀하려 한다. 이러한 정책의 일환으로 여러 시설들이 입주할 뿐만 아니라 교통도 확충되는 클러스터는 각광받기 시작하여 여러 지역에서 추진되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 현재 활성화 단계에 접어든 상암 미디어 클러스터 지역의 형성 배경 및 지역 발전을 분석하고, 지역 발전 부문에서는 인구 · 산업 측면에서 그 성장을 분석하였다. 더불어 선행 미디어 클러스터 지역으로 이미 발전이 이루어진 미국 실리콘앨리의 형성 배경과 발전 및 그 발전 요인을 분석하여, 이를 토대로 상암 미디어 클러스터 지역과 실리콘앨리를 비교하고 앞으로의 상암 클러스터의 향방과 도시지리학적 가능성을 제시했다. Recently, Korea try to make development of depressed local economy and also activation of the hinterland. Cluster, that such facilities and transportation system amplified as part of a policy, has been in the spotlight and started being promote in many areas. Therefore, this study is about currently active steps in Sangam media cluster area formation and development with population and industry section analysis. In addition, based on formation factors analysis of Silicon Alley in the United States, that already been made a media cluster developments, two areas compared in this study and future direction and urban-geological possibilities were suggested.

Expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) grafts have been used as vascular access for many patients suffering from end stage renal disease. However, the vascular graft can cause significant clinical problems such as stenosis or thrombosis. For this reason, many studies have been performed to make drug eluting graft, but initial burst is major problem in almost drug eluting systems. Therefore we used biodegradable polymer to reduce initial burst and make sustained drug delivery. The ePTFE grafts were dipped into a paclitaxel-dissolved solution and then PLGA-dissolved solution was passed through the lumen of ePTFE. We analyzed whether the dose of paclitaxel is enough and the loading amount of PLGA on ePTFE graft increases according to the coating solution's concentration. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images of various concentration of PLGA showed that the porous surface of graft was more packed with PLGA by tetrahydrofuran solution dissolved PLGA. In addition, in vitro release profiles of Ptx-PLGA graft demonstrated that early burst was gradually decreased as increasing the concentration of PLGA. These results suggest that PLGA coating of Ptx loaded graft can retard drug release, it is useful tool to control drug release of medical devices.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to assess the reducing effect of workload on developed electro-motion scissors. Methods: To achieve this, we measured the pressure distribution, Joint angle of fingers and JSI(Job Strain Index) for electro-motion scissors and hand-operated scissor in objective assessment and surveyed the uncomfortable degree in subjective assessment. Results: As a result, The peak of pressure in the electro-motion scissors was generally lower than the hand-operated scissors. JSI and overall joint angle of fingers for the electro-motion scissors were remarkably lower than the hand-operated scissors. Also, the subjective uncomfortable degree showed that the uncomfortable point of electro-motion scissors were generally lower than the hand operated scissors. Conclusion: The impact of reducing the work load as well as distributing the pressure around the hand by using electro-motion scissors during grapes pinching was confirmed.

<P>The role of BubR1 has been established mainly in mitosis as an essential mitotic checkpoint protein although it is expressed throughout the cell cycle. To explore a possible role of BubR1 in regulating the G(2) phase of cell cycle, we have employed siRNA-mediated hBubR1 knockdown in HeLa cells. Here, we demonstrate that reducing BubR1 levels during the G(2) phase causes accelerated mitotic entry. As expected, BubR1 depletion leads to degradation of cyclin B(1) in the G(2) phase. Intriguingly, cyclin B(1) is prematurely targeted to centrosomes appearing at early G(2) phase in BubR1-depleted cells despite its low levels. This is in contrast to control cells where cyclin B(1) appears at the centrosomes in early prophase based on cell cycle-specific localization of CENP-F. Furthermore, cyclin B/Cdk1 kinase activity in early G(2) is aberrantly high in BubR1-depleted cells. Together, our results indicate that hBubR1 depletion triggers premature centrosomal localization of cyclin B(1) probably leading to premature mitotic entry. This study is the first to suggest a role of hBubR1 in controlling centrosome targeting of cyclin B(1) and timing of mitotic entry.</P>
Estimated rate of agricultural injury

Objectives: This study estimated the rate of agricultural injury using a nationwide survey and identified factors associated with these injuries. Methods: The first Korean Farmers’ Occupational Disease and Injury Survey (KFODIS) was conducted by the Rural Development Administration in 2009. Data from 9,630 adults were collected through a household survey about agricultural injuries suffered in 2008. We estimated the injury rates among those whose injury required an absence of more than 4 days. Logistic regression was performed to identify the relationship between the prevalence of agricultural injuries and the general characteristics of the study population. Results: We estimated that 3.2% (±0.00) of Korean farmers suffered agricultural injuries that required an absence of more than 4 days. The injury rates among orchard farmers (5.4 ± 0.00) were higher those of all non-orchard farmers. The odds ratio (OR) for agricultural injuries was significantly lower in females (OR: 0.45, 95% CI = 0.45?0.45) compared to males. However, the odds of injury among farmers aged 50?59 (OR: 1.53, 95% CI = 1.46?1.60), 60?69 (OR: 1.45, 95% CI = 1.39?1.51), and ≥70 (OR: 1.94, 95% CI = 1.86?2.02) were significantly higher compared to those younger than 50. In addition, the total number of years farmed, average number of months per year of farming, and average hours per day of farming were significantly associated with agricultural injuries. Conclusions: Agricultural injury rates in this study were higher than rates reported by the existing compensation insurance data. Males and older farmers were at a greater risk of agriculture injuries; therefore, the prevention and management of agricultural injuries in this population is required.

Evaluation of disease activity indices in Korean patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

<P>The aim of this study is to examine the validity of the rheumatoid arthritis (RA), disease activity score (DAS), 28-C-reactive protein (CRP), the simplified disease activity index (SDAI), and the clinical disease activity index (CDAI) against the DAS28-erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and determine cut-off values for each tool in Korean patients with RA. A total of 223 RA patients were consecutively recruited from the Hanyang University Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Seoul, Korea. DAS28-CRP, SDAI, and CDAI were measured and compared with DAS28-ESR. The correlation coefficients of DAS28-ESR with DAS28-CRP, SDAI, and CDAI were 0.93, 0.85, and 0.84, demonstrating strong linear relationships. The cut-off values of DAS28-CRP classifying RA patients into four categories of disease activity were defined as 2.19, 2.60, and 4.07. SDAI cut-off values were defined as 3.75, 7.50, and 16.88. CDAI cut-off values were defined as 3.62, 7.38, and 16.50. DAS28-CRP, SDAI, and CDAI are valid and sensitive assessment indices of disease activity that are comparable to DAS28-ESR. The cut-off values of each tool derived in this study might be useful for routine monitoring and therapeutic decision-making in Korean RA patients.</P>
