항암화학요법을 받는 암 환자에 대한 Nucare^R의 영양지지효과

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of nutritional support with enteral liquid supplement in cancer patients receving chemotherapy for possible benefit in nutritional, immunologic and golbal function of patients. Patients and Methods : From October 1995 to February 1997, 30 advanced cancer patients receving chemotherapy were divided two roups. The Nycare group, in addition to normal diet, Nucare^R enteral supplement was given for 1week right after chemotherapy for the duration of 2 chemotherapy cycles. Control group received only normal diet without parenteral fluid supplement for 2 chemotherapy cycles. Results : Median ages were 53 end 56 years for Nucare group and Contrl group respectively. Performance scores was less than 2 by ECOG scale. All patients were stage Ⅲ or Ⅳ. The physical parameters, such as weight, arm muscle circumference(AMC) and triceps skin fold(TSF) were decreased in both groups after 2 cycles of anticancer therapy. but it was less severe in Nucare group(p<0.05). Serum transferrin was maintained in mild deficit state in Nucare group, whereas it aggravated form mild to moderate deficit in Control group(p<0.05). Serum albumin level increased in Nucare group without statistical significance. but it decreased from normal to mild deficit in Control group. Serum total protein did not change significantly in Nucare group. but in Control group, serum total protein was decreased from 7.24±0.9 to 6.52±0.5(P<0.05). Total lymphocyte count did not change significantly in both groups. Conclusion : This study shows that the nutritional support with Nucare^R was effective in the prevention of nutritional deficit status in patients receving a nticancer chemotherapy.

Rheumatoid arthritis frequently involves the cervical spine and may lead to neurologic impairement. However, direct involvement of CNS structures by inflammatory cells has been reported infrequently. The prevalence of this complication of rheumatoid arthritis is unknown. Inflammatory CNS involvement in rheumatoid arthritis reportedly occurs in the setting of longstanding, active, erosive articular disease and is accompanied by extracranial and extraspinal nodules and vasculitis. This is diagnosed by radiologic finding of CNS nodules or meningeal thickening and by biopsy or autopsy. Treatment with corticosteroid, cytotoxic agent or surgical decompression is helpful. But the majority of patients die within several months of onset of neurologic symptom. Recently, we experienced a case of pachymeningitis caused by rheumatoid arthritis, which resolved repeatedly with azathioprine treatment.
Bio-Denitrification of the Nitrate Waste Solution from the Lagoon Sludge in a Batch Fermenter

우라늄 변환시설 가동 중 발생하여 라군(lagoon)에 저장중인 방사성 슬러지 폐기물에 대한 처리는 시설 해체과정에서 매우 중요한 업무 중 하나이다. 슬러지 구성성분 중 다량을 차지하는 질산암모늄의 폭발 위험성 등으로 인해 미생물을 이용한 질산염의 분해는 질산염을 안정적으로 처리할 수 있는 효과적인 방법이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 라군 슬러지의 약 60 wt%를 차지하는 질산염을 혐기성 균주의 하나인 Pseudomonas halodenidificans를 이용하여 탈질하기위한 공정 변수에 대한 영향을 평가하였다. 온도, 질산염 농도, 전자공여체의 영향, C/N 비율, 초기 접종하는 균주의 비율, pH등의 공정변수에 대하여 실험한 이번 결과는 향후 연속식 공정 설계를 위한 기초 자료로 사용될 것이다. It is a serious task to the decommissioning of the uranium conversion plant that the demolition of the lagoon sludge. The main component of the sludge is ammonium nitrate and that is the very explosive material. Therefore, the bio-denitrification is a attractive process to remove the nitrate. In this work, some process variables was tested such as incubation temperature, nitrate concentration, electron donor, C/N ratio, seeding ratio, and pH with an anaerobic bacteria as Pseudomonas halodenitrificans. The results would be used as basic data to the continuous bio-denitrification process.
경피적 관상동맥 확장술 전후의 QT 간격분산 ( QT dispersion ) 비교

N/A Objectives: QT dispersion(QTd) is defined as the difference between the maximum and minimum average QT interval in any of the 12 leads of the surface ECG. QTd has been shown to reflect regional variations in ventricular repolarization. It was reported previously that QTd was dependent on the degree of reperfusion in myocardial infarction. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty(PTCA) on QTd. Methods: We studied in 21 patients(15 men and 6 women: mean age, 53±7.5 years: 14 acute myocardial infaction, 4 angina pectoris and 3 unstable angina). All standard 12-lead ECGs were recorded at a paper speed of 25mm/sec and examined retrospectively by single observer. QT interval was measured from 11.3±1.1 leads using a computerized program interfaced with digitizer. QTd corrected for heart rate(QTcd) was calculated by Bazett`s formula. Each cases were divided to 2 stages, before and after PTCA(mean obsevation duration, 16.8±9.7 days vs. 22.5±21.9 hours). The difference of QT dispersions was assessed by comparing by paired t-test. Results: There were significant difference in QTd (mean 110.2±37.4 vs. 90.4±37.6 msec, p<0.05). Results did not change when Bazett`s QTc was substituted for QT(QTcd: mean 125.5±38.3 vs. 97.9±29.8 msec, p<0.05). Conclusion: Successful PTCA is associated with less QTd after PTGA. The results are equally significant when either QT or QTc is used for analysis. In our limited study, measurement of QT dispersion, an easily accessible, resonably accurate, noninvasive method, may be a valuable tool in assessment of patients before and after PTCA. However, this study must be confirmed in prospective trial.

현재 중앙집중식 구조는 서버의 데이터 유출에 대한 위험성이 크며 이에 따라 개인 정보 유출에 대한 우려가 높아지고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 기술로 블록체인이 부각되고 있으며 블록체인 기술을 이용한 탈중앙화 애플리케이션에 대한 연구와 개발이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 탈중앙화 애플리케이션을 설계 및 구현하고 개발 연구에 대한 결과를 도출한다.
드럼 회전 속도에 따른 의류 건조기 드럼 내 열 및 물질전달계수에 관한 실험적 연구

Inside the drum of clothes dryer, moisture of the clothes evaporates by heat and mass transfer between the air and the clothes. As the drum rotates, the clothes reach the high position by centrifugal force and drop by gravitational force resulting in enhancement of contact between the air and the clothes. Thus, it could be easily assumed that the heat and mass transfer are affected by the clothes weight and the drum rotation speed. When the drum rotation speed is too slow, the clothes rarely could reach the high position as the gravitational force dominates, and the contact with the air is restrained resulting in the decrease in the evaporation rate. A similar trend is observed when the drum rotation speed is too fast because the clothes rarely could drop as the centrifugal force dominates. This implies that there exists an optimal drum speed for accelerating the drying process. In the present study, based on an analytical model of transfer processes in the drum, the heat and mass transfer coefficients were derived with respect to various clothes weights and drum rotation speeds experimentally. In the present study, it has been found that the optimal drum speed increases as the clothes weight increases. It is expected that the result of the present study would be helpful determining the drum speed when designing clothes dryers.
