헨리 제임스의 낭만성과 도덕적 심미주의 : -'황금잔'을 중심으로-

While Henry James is generally regarded as the 'realist' whose style is focused on 'psychological realism', his major works are deeply colored with Romantic quality. In The Golden Bowl, which is one of the conspicuous Romantic novels, Prince Amerigo and Adam Verver, two male protagonists, reveal some important Romantic aspects. They both have deep interest in human mind, and are capable of insightful perception in their society. These two men show ceaseless spirit of exploration into human experience. They are also possessed of keen aesthetic discrimination, which makes them to enjoy extraordinary beauty of artistic things, as well as of human mind. Such assets enhance their seat onto the assessor of aesthetic moralism. Their moralism makes them to sacrifice their own will and desire, and, accordingly, to establish a new moral world of their own. In the end, their will to restore the beauty of human relationships contributes to the 'empathic love' and renunciation of their own selfish desire, bringing in the equilibrium of the relationships of the people concerned.

The purpose of this study is to investigate teacher difficulties in a total care nursery institution for infants within the operation of its program. The research questions for this aim as follows: 1. What aspects are revealed in each day's operation cancerning the qualities of an infant nursery institution? 1-1. What aspects of the infant nursery institution program operation are shown? 1-2. What aspects of the infant nursery's special activity program are revealed? 2. What are the aspects of a teacher's difficulties the operation of the program for an infant nursery institution? This study had to participating teacher. They were working in a total-care infant nursery institution located in Busan. To address the first and second research questions, analyses were performed by recording the quality. This study's major results are summarized as follows: 1. A nursery that cares for all the infant's needs was discovered to be insufficient for interaction because of the ratio of teachers to infants. 2. Parents took their infants to a total-care nursery because they believed in the early adaption program. 3. A total-care infant nursery that had a special activity program experienced difficulties. 4. Teachers in a total-care infant nursery experienced difficulties because of the high number of infants to teacher, a luck of appropriate development tools, and a lack of child care experience.

The purpose of this study was to determine the changes in body composition, cardiopulmonary function, and flexibility following 8 weeks' bicycle ergometer exercise training. The subjects of this research consisted of healthy adult women between 30 and 40 years of age. Initial intensity of bicycle ergometer exercise was based on the target heart rate equivalent to 55% of maximal oxygen uptake, and intensity of the exercise increased by 5% every 2 weeks. Body composition, cardiopulmonary function at rest and during maximal exercise, as well as flexibility were determined before and after 8 weeks of bicycle ergometer exercise training. Masimal exercise was performed on the treadmill according to Bruce Protocol. The results obtained were as follows; 1. There were o changes in body weight, percent body fat, fat body weight, and lean body weight as well. The ventilation volume for 1 minute, respiratory quotient and expired CO₂ volume have not changed significantly after the training, either. 2. As a result of training, resting systolic and diastolic blood pressure decreased significantly(p<.05) 3. Maximal heart rate, maximal oxygen consumption and maximal running time increased significantly after the training(p<.05) 4. Pelvic flexibility increased slightly after the training, however, it did not reach the statistical significance. Trunk flexion forward increased significantly after the training(p<.05). From these results, it may be concluded that 8 weeks bicycle ergometr training improve the cardiopulmonary function and flexibility in healthy adult women between 30-40 years of age.

Ecofeminism (ecological feminism) is based on the idea that the Western industrial civilization has been built on the domination of nature which is supposed to be inferior to human beings, and it has reinforced the subjugation of women, because women are thought to be closer to nature. As a result of such man-centered hierarchical ideology, nature and women have been separated and exploited by men, which fact gave birth to deteriorated as well as over-simplified world. Ecofeminists believe all living things are interconnected as a web, and they ask for radical transformation of the hierarchical order that denies such intrinsic relationships of all living beings. To achieve the goal, according to Ecofeminism, women, who are to have the potential for natural, diversified, and ahierarchical mind, need to step ahead to build a world that will embrace all kinds of diversity and differences. Henry James, who is willing to identify himself with woman, wants to transform the present world which, as he sees, has been immersed in modern material ideology. Further, he hopes to build a new society where diverse aspects of life and mutual understanding, instead of domination and suppression, abundantly exist. James firmly believes that American women can transform the country as such. Maisie Farrange in What Maisie Knew, Milly Theale in The Wings of the Dove, and finally Maggie Verver in The Golden Bowl more or less achieve such vision of the writer, and both their efforts and actions correspond to the ideology of Ecofeminism.

Aerobic dance를 사용한 3개월 간의 『운동+식사 프로그램』이 비만경향 여성의 형태 및 신체조성에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a weight-loss program in obese women. Sixty-seven subjects, aged 37.1±8.7 years, joined in the program that comprised diet and exercise prescription. The exercise prescription consisted of a 60-rnin aerobic dance(2d/wk) and self-selected, unsupervised aerobic exercise. The duration of this program was 3months. As a result, body mass and %fat significantly decreased from 61.9±8.4 to 59.1 ±8.3㎏ and from 30.7±7.5 to 26.6±7.0%(p<0.05), respectively. Fat-free mass(FFM) remained essentially unchanged (42.6±4.2 vs. 43.0±3.7㎏). About 10% of all subjects lost FFM by more than 2㎏, and accordingly, their energy yield was not enough to maintain FFM. Among the subjects who successfully reduced excess fat and maintained FFM no change in energy yield and reduction in upper body fat were found. Conversely, the subjects who could not maintain FFM lost lean tissue in lower limbs. It is suggested that our weight-loss program with exercise is useful in improving body composition and diet ingestion, and that particularly aerobic dance is considered available for reducing excess fat.

In an aging society, there is an increasing possibility of the duplication of the drugs given to patients because they take many kinds of drugs. Among the prescriptions given to the patients who was treated at multiple ambulatory clinics in St. Mary's hospital for one month of September, 2002, in which drugs that has identical or similar effects are prescribed, we analysed and evaluated them by patients' characteristics, kinds of medication, severity of side effects on a case by case basis. More, we assessed the potential additional costs. As a result of this study, the duplication rate turned out to be 6.69% and it was shown that the proportion of the elderly patients over 60 was high. The gastro-intestinal medications took up a large part and most of the cases showed that the danger caused by double taking of medicine was slight, but there were some examples in which the serious side effects were predicted. Expected additional costs were the average 11.349 won and it ranges from the minimum of 56 won to the maximum of 135,720 won. In conclusion, the management of drug histories of the patients who need the plural treatments is very important and the necessity of the individual and professional guidance of taking medicines for the elderly patients is emerged, too.

전산유체역학을 이용한 싸이클론형 전기집진기 고도 설계 연구

A computer program is developed in order to figure out the physical insight of the combined dust removal equipment, that is, cyclonic electrostatic precipitator. The computer program employs Patankar's control-volume based finite-difference method, in which SIMPLEC algorithm is used for the resolution of pressure-linked momentum equation. Further two equation k-ε model is incorperated for Reynolds stresses and many empirical formulae are employed for dust charging and electric resistivity. A series of extensive parametric investigations are performed in terms of tangential velocity(swirl intensity), applied voltage across two electrodes, and particulate diameters, etc. It is found that the electrostatic force gives much more strong effect, expecially for small particulate, on the dust removal than the centrifugal force. Other calculated results are physically acceptable and consistent.
