Maize hybrids were planted on April 1, April 25, May 20 and June 15 in 2012, 2013 at the experimental paddy and upland fields in Suwon city , respectively to know changes of growth stage and yield according to different planting time. Maize planting on April 1 was not recommended because total growing days at planting on April 1 was not different with that at planting on April 25 due to many days from planting to emergence over 20 days at planting on April 1. Total growing days were not much different among three planting time after April 25 because days from silking to maturity was lengthened though days from planting to silking was shortened at later planting time. Stalk weight was decreased as planting time was delayed, particularly at planting times after May 20 at paddy field by excess water injury during early growth stage. But, grain yield was not low as in May and June. It is needed to introduce early maturity maize variety as Yanganok at late planting for higher grain yield and enough time for soil preparation for next winter crops

A new concept for the stabilization and solidification of volatile radioactive wastes via gelation in a simple material system is introduced in this paper. Using sodium silicate as a reaction module and phosphoric acid as a catalyst or stabilization agent. CsCl is chemically converted to thermally stable compounds. The heat-treated product at 1000℃ contained a cristobalite crystalline framework and a glassy phosphorus-rich phase with a high Cs content. The morphology looked like honey flowing on the honeycomb. From TG/DT analysis, Cs could not be vaporized below 1300℃ by changing the aging conditions and molar ratio of Si/p. As a new concept, GRSS(gel-route stabilization and solidification) could give us the chance to make the high temperature waste conditioning process more stable and economical.

By gelation with sodium silicate and phosphorous oxide in binary system, we investigated the possibility to fix the volatile alkali metal chlorides in a highly stable matrix at high temperature if the product gel is further solidified to form glass or ceramic waste form. The binary system with different metal chloride(MCl) loadings underwent gelation reaction at 70℃ for 1 day and dried at 110℃ for 1 day. XRD analysis showed that all the dried gel contained NaCl and some unknown crystalline phase. From the experimental results, the reaction mechanism can be proposed as follows. Also, the possibility of Cs vaporization could be lowered by the application of the new gel-route stabilization/solidification to treat waste salt. (G,Na)+MCl→(G,M)+NaCl, (G.H)+MCI→(G,M)+HCl.

In the previous study, we suggested a new concept, named as GRSS(Gel-Route Stabilization/Solidification) and investigated a material system applicable to volatile radioactive waste, a reaction condition and chemical limitations. From these results, this paper investigated the effect of some additives, which have been considered as the major component of ceramic waste forms(apatite and sodium zirconium phosphate), on the thermal stability and chemical durability. The Si-P system with Ca at appropriate composition shows good thermal stability but low chemical durability while the Si-P system with Zr shows relatively low thermal stability but relatively high chemical durability.
서울시내 고등학교 위탁급식의 급식비와 투자비의 실태 및 위탁업체의 기대수준 비교 분석

The purposes of this study were to a) find out the operational characteristics of the contract-managed highschool foodservice in Seoul, b) investigate the expected level of meal-price and facilities investment cost perceived by contract-managed highschool foodservice managers c) compare the present level and expected level of meal-price and facilities investment cost. From October 12 to November 13 in 2001, the questionnaires were mailed to 249 high schools which was managed by contract foodservice company with respondent rate 40.2%. Data were analyzed using SPSS Win(10.0) for descriptive analysis and one group paired t-test. The results of this study were as follows ; 1. The student enrollment of highschools run by contract-managed foodservice was 1,243 with 72.6% participation rate of school lunch program. The average meal-price was 2,138 won. The average annual period of school foodservice operation was 156.78 days per year. The average contracting period was about 3 years. 2. The average cost concerned in the facilities investment amounts 169,578,180 won at the initial investment and 25,204,092 won at the repairs and maintenance cost in the course of operation. 3. The present level of meal-price and facilities investment cost were respectively 2,136won/meal and 171,157,336.72 won. And expected level.of meal-price and amount of facilities investment cost were 2,418.75 won and 121,353,215.19 won. Comparing the present level with expected level of the meal-price and facilities investment cost, expected level of meal-price was significantly higher than the present level of meal-price(p<.001) and expected level of facilities investment cost was significantly lower than present level of facilities investment cost(p<.001).

Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] is a species of legume native to East Asia. The interactions between climatic conditions and genetic characteristics are known to affect the agricultural performance of soybean. Therefore, the present investigation was conducted to identify the main elements affecting the agricultural performances of 11 soybean varieties/lines from China [Harbin ($45^{\circ}12^{\prime}N$), Yanji ($42^{\circ}53^{\prime}N$), Dalian ($39^{\circ}30^{\prime}N$), Qingdao ($36^{\circ}26^{\prime}N$)] and the Republic of Korea [Suwon ($37^{\circ}16^{\prime}N$), and Jeonju ($35^{\circ}49^{\prime}N$)]. The days to flowering (DTF) of soybeans with the e1-nf and e1-as alleles and the E1e2e3e4 genotype, except in 'Keumgangkong', 'Tawonkong', and 'Duyoukong', were relatively short compared to those of soybeans with other alleles. Although DTF of the soybeans was highly correlated with all climatic conditions [negative: precipitation, average temperature (AVT), accumulated temperature; positive: day-length (DL)], days to maturity and 100-seed weight of the soybeans showed no significant correlation with any climatic conditions. The soybeans with a dominant Dt1 allele, except 'Tawonkong', had the longest stem length (STL). Moreover, STL of the soybeans grown in the test fields showed a positive correlation with only DL; however, the results of our chamber test that was conducted to complement the field tests showed that STL of soybean was positively affected by AVT and DL. Although soybean yield (YLD) showed positive correlations with latitude and DL (except L62-667, OT89-5, and OT89-6), the response of YLD to the climatic conditions was cultivar-specific. Our results show that DTF and STL of soybeans grown in six different latitudes are highly affected by DL, and AVT and genetic characteristic also affect DTF and STL.

Nutritional and physicochemical properties of new giant embryo mutant rice (YR23517Acp79, YR) were analyzed. YR exhibited increased total protein (9.3${\pm}$0.3%), lipid (3.7${\pm}$1.1%), amino acid (663.28${\pm}$1.9 mg/g), and mineral contents (Ca=284.0${\pm}$6.2, Mg=1417.5${\pm}$13.6 mg/kg). In YR brown rice four major physicochemicals, including gamma-aminobutyric acid (brown rice= 0.46${\pm}$0.014 mg/g), ${\gamma}$-oryzanol (0.43${\pm}$0.021 mg/g), vitamin $B_1$ (6.42${\pm}$0.3 mg/kg), and tocopherols (alpha= 2.68${\pm}$0.1, beta=0.11${\pm}$0.01, gamma=0.05${\pm}$0.001 mg/100 g) increased in comparison to reported giant embryo (Keunnunbyeo, KB) and normal embryo rice (Ilmibyeo, IB). YR showed higher scavenging activities against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (0.2 g/mL=57.1${\pm}$2.25) and 2,2'-Azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (0.2 g/mL=50.2${\pm}$1.45) radicals but also inhibited lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide production without cytotoxicity. These results indicate YR is a high quality functional rice due to its high nutrition content and antioxidant effects of physicochemicals.
Soil Physico-chemical Properties by Land Use of Anthropogenic Soils Dredged from River Basins

This study was conducted to analyze soil physico-chemical properties of agricultural land composed from the river-bed sediments. We investigated the changes of soil physico-chemical properties at 30 different sampling sites containing paddy, upland and plastic film house from 2012 to 2015. pH, exchangeable calcium and magnesium decreased gradually in paddy soils during the four years, whereas the available $P_2O_5$, exchangeable Ca, Mg and EC increased in upland and plastic film house soil. For the soil physical properties, bulk density and hardness of topsoil were $1.47g\;cm^{-3}$ and 21.5 mm and those of subsoil were $1.71g\;cm^{-3}$ and 25.7 mm in paddy soils. In upland soils, bulk density and hardness of topsoil were $1.48g\;cm^{-3}$ and 15.9 mm and those of subsoil were $1.55g\;cm^{-3}$ and 16.9 mm. In plastic film house soils, bulk density and hardness of topsoil were $1.42g\;cm^{-3}$ and 14.4 mm and those of subsoil were $1.40g\;cm^{-3}$ and 18.5 mm, respectively. The penetration hardness was higher than 3 MPa below soil depth 20 cm, and it is impossible to measure below soil depth 50 cm. As these results, in agricultural anthropogenic soils dredged from river basins, the pH, amount of organic matter and exchangeable cations decreased and soil physical properties also deteriorated with time. Therefore, it is needed to apply more organic matters and suitable amount of fertilizer and improve the soil physical properties by cultivating green manure crops, deep tillage, and reversal of deep soils.
