      • CMOS 단일칩 마이크로컴퓨터의 제어논리 설계

        The control part of CMOS single chip micro-computer has been designed and simulated with GLOG. The circuits have been implemented using SPICE simulator. Results of logic simulation and circuit simulation were in good agreements with expected circuit characteristics.

      • 병렬 테스트를 위한 Exhaustive 테스트 패턴 생성

        본 논문은 Exhaustive 테스트 방법을 이용 중에 분할 기법을 이용하여 병렬 테스트 가능한 테스트 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 Exhautive 테스트의 단점인 테스트 수행시간을 줄일 수 있으며, 함수적인 분할 기법을 이용하여 기존 선형적으로 테스트하던 방법을 병렬적으로 테스트할 수 있음을 보여준다. 테스트 패턴 생성을 위해서는 함수 레벨의 기법을 이용하며, 테스트 패턴 생성에는 부울 미분 방법을 사용한다. 또한 이를 이용하여 병렬적으로 삽입할 수 있는 테스트 패턴을 자동적으로 생성하게 된다. In recent years the complexity of digital systems has increased dramatically. Although semiconductor manufacturers try to ensure that their products are reliable, it is almost impossible not to have faults somewhere in a system at any given time. As complexity of circuits increases, more organized and automated methods for test generation become necessary. Up to now, however, most of popular and extensive methods for test generation may be those which sequentially produce an output for an input pattern. They inevitably require a lot of time to search each fault in a system. This paper generates test patterns through the partition method among those using the exhaustive method, and designs and implements a method that can discover faults earlier than other ones proposed ever by inserting a pattern in parallel.

      • 사과 열과(裂果)의 원인과 그 방지에 관한 연구

        On the basis of our hypothesis about the causes of cracking has obtained in our 1969's study, we investigated the relations among the cracking and the microelements, the environmental factors, and the treatment of IAA and GA in two selected orchards. We analyzed and compared with the contents of microelements (Mn, B, zn, and Cu) in leaves and soils of two test orchards (Taegu and Yungju). The results of the study which the causes of cracking of apples are examined through the above three procedures, are as follows: 1. The contents of Mn in soil of Taegu test orchard were total Mn 435.9 ppm, soil sol'n Mn 6.2ppm, and total Mn 284.6 pm in leaves. That of Yungju test orchard were total Mn 595.1ppm, soil sol'n Mn 6.2ppm and total Mn 144.2ppm in leaves. Comparing with Mn optimum contents in leaves Mn contents of Taegu test orchard were higher than the optimum concentration, while those of Yungju were approximately satis-factory. 2. The contents of B in leaves were 3.7ppm in Taegu and 4.6ppm in Yungju. These contents were lower ten times than the optimum contents and were the same deficiency in both test orchards. 3. The contents of Zn in leaves were 5.7ppm in Taegu and 3.8ppm in Yungju. Those contents were both the same deficiency as comparing with the optimum contents. 4. The contents of Cu in leaves were 29.3ppm in Taegu test orchard and 10.6ppm in Yungju test orchard. Comparing with the optimum contents, the contents of Cu were excess in Taegu test orchard, while that of Cu were approximately satisfactory in Yungju 5. The diameter of Ralls apple fruits were increased 1.1% in IAA spraying treatment and 3.1% in GA spraying treatment as comparing with control group 6. The thickness of cuticle layer of Ralls apple fruits were highest and the cuticle treated with IAA and GA was thinner than the control group. 7. New branches of tree with higher cracking rate tended to decrease in length, in figure and size of leaves. 8. The change of diameter in fruits were decreased in higher cracking fruits during day and night. The change of that in IAA and GA group were increased 6.1% and 1.2% respectively compared with the control group. 9. The application of IAA and GA solution slowed the cracking rate by 2.2 and 0.8% respectively compared with the control group 10. In 1970 year the cracking rate of Ralls apple fruit were 6.53% in Taegu and 4.31% in Yungju test orchard. 11. We obtained linear regression of rate of cracking and the summation of temperature during May to August in Taegu area. The summation of temperature was 2428.1℃ during June to August in 1970. When the summation of temperature was increased more than above that of tempera ture, we could expect that it was possible to increase the rate of cracking Ralls apple. An equation in the summation of temperature and the rate of cracking fruits during May to August were obtained y=0.074x-157.50. 12. The investigation indicates that a method of preventing the cracking of Ralls apple is: a. to spray at the optimum time growth hormone which increases the elasticity and elongation of cell wall. b. to alter the composition of soil by putting the organic fertilizer deeply in the ground. c. to replace Ralls apples with new varieties which is strong against cracking and have high quality and economical productivity.

        Multiscale modeling for compressive strength of concrete columns with circular cross-section

        In order to construct a multiscale model for the compressive strength of plain concrete columns with circular cross section subjected to central longitudinal compressive load, a column failure mechanism is proposed based on the theory of internal instability. Based on an energy analysis, the multiscale model is developed to describe the failure process and predict the column’s compressive strength. Comparisons of the predicted results with experimental data show that the proposed multiscale model can accurately represent both the compressive strength of the concrete columns with circular cross section, and the effect of column size on its strength.

        The Improvement of China’s Nuclear Safety Supervision Technical Support Ability

        The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) entails independent decision-making for the safety supervision of civil nuclear facilities. To evaluate and review the safety of nuclear facilities, the national regulatory body usually consults independent institutions or external committees. Technical Support Organizations (TSOs) include national laboratories, research institutions, and consulting organizations. Support from professional organizations in other countries may also be required occasionally. Most of the world’s major nuclear power countries adopt an independent nuclear safety supervision model. Accordingly, China has continuously improved upon the construction of such a system by establishing the National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA) as the decision-making department for nuclear and radiation safety supervision, six regional safety supervision stations, the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center (NSC), a nuclear safety expert committee, and the National Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Technology R&D Base, which serves as the test, verification, and R&D platform for providing consultation and technical support. An R&D system, however, remains to be formed. Future endeavors must focus on improving the technical support capacity of these systems. As an enhancement from institutional independence to capability independence is necessary for ensuring the independence of China’s nuclear safety regulatory institution, its regulatory capacity must be improved in the future.

        Experimental study on reinforced high-strength concrete short columns confined with AFRP sheets

        This paper is aiming to study the performances of reinforced high-strength concrete (HSC) short columns confined with aramid fibre-reinforced polymer (AFRP) sheets. An experimental program, which involved 45 confined columns and nine unconfined columns, was carried out in this study. All the columns were circular in cross section and tested under axial compressive load. The considered parameters included the concrete strength, amount of AFRP layers, and ratio of hoop reinforcements. Based on the experimental results, a prediction model for the axial stress-strain curves of the confined columns was proposed. It was observed from the experiment that there was a great increment in the compressive strength of the columns when the amount of AFRP layers increases, similar as the ultimate strain. However, these increments were reduced as the concrete strength increasing. Comparisons with other existing prediction models present that the proposed model can provide more accurate predictions

      • Systematic Review on Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) DNA in Diagnosis of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma in Asian Populations

        Objective: To conduct a meta-analysis to investigate the value of EBV DNA in diagnosis of nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) in Asian populations, and provide important evidence for screening. Methods: Prospective or respective case-control or cohort studies regarding the detection role of EBV DNA for NPC were included in our study. We conducted a comprehensive literature search in PubMed, EMBASE, and the Chinese Biomedical Database (CBM database between January 1980 and March 2012. Results: A total of 18 studies with 1492 NPC cases and 2641 health controls were included. Almost of the included studies were conducted in China, and only one other conducted in Thailand. The overall results demonstrated that the pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood (+LR) and negative likelihood (-LR) were 0.73 (0.71-0.75), 0.89 (0.88-0.90), 8.84 (5.65-13.84) and 0.19(0.11-0.32), respectively. The overall EBV DNA detection showed the largest area of 0.932 under the summary receiver operator curve (SROC). The accuracy of detection by plasma for NPC (0.86) was higher than in serum (0.81), with largest areas under the SROC of 0.97 and 0.91, respectively. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated the EBV DNA detection in plasma or serum has high sensitivity and specificity in diagnosis of NPC, especially in Chinese populations with a high risk of cancer.

        miR-489 suppresses multiple myeloma cells growth through inhibition of LDHA-mediated aerobic glycolysis

        Background Dysregulation of miR-489 in human tumors has been widely reported. Lactate dehydrogenase isoform A (LDHA)-mediated aerobic glycolysis participates in proliferation of multiple myeloma (MM) cells. Objective To investigate whether miR-489 induced MM growth inhibition via targeting to LDHA-mediated aerobic glycolysis. Methods Expression of miR-489 in representative MM cell lines was determined via qRT-PCR (quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction). MTT (3-(4, 5-di methyl thiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-di phenyl tetrazolium bromide) and colony formation assays were utilized to detect cell viability and proliferation. Effect of miR-489 on aerobic glycolysis was detected via glucose uptake, lactate and ATP production. Binding ability between miR-489 and LDHA was conducted via luciferase activity assay. Results MiR-489 was down-regulated in representative MM cell lines. Gain-of functional assays indicated that over-expression of miR-489 decreased cell viability and inhibited cell proliferation of MM cells. Moreover, miR-489 inhibited aerobic glycolysis via decrease of glucose uptake, lactate and ATP production. LDHA was identified as target of miR-489, suggesting a negative correlation between miR-489 and LDHA in MM cells. Mechanically, the inhibition ability of miR-489 on proliferation of MM cells was through inhibition of LDHA-mediated aerobic glycolysis. Conclusions miR-489 inhibited MM tumor growth via LDHA-mediated glycolytic metabolism, suggesting potential therapeutic target ability of miR-489/LDHA for MM.

        Role of Selenium in Alteration of Erythrocyte Parameters in Bovine Fluorosis

        Signs of dental discolouration, difficulty in mastication, bony exostosis and debility were observed in cattle from Qingtongxia Ningxia, China where fluoride concentration in drinking water, soil, fodder, serum, bone, teeth, haircoat and urine were significantly higher than the corresponding health site. The problem of fluorosis in beef cattle is attributable to water containing toxic levels of fluoride. The objective of this paper was therefore to evaluate the influence of fluoride on erythrocyte parameters in cattle under high fluoride and low selenium conditions, as well as the protective efficacy of selenium exposure in feedstuff for bovine endemic fluorosis. Sixteen 6 to 7 year-old high fluoride beef cattle were randomly allotted into two groups each with eight cows: high fluoride control group, and supplemented with 0.25 mg/kg selenium per day for 83 days respectively. In addition, eight 6 to 7 year-old normal control beef cattle were selected from a non-high fluoride site. Blood samples were collected on day 0, 30 and 83 for erythrocyte parameters analysis and scanning electronic microscopy. The results indicated that erythrocytes, hemoglobin, packed cell volume values and $Na^+-K^+$ ATPase activity from affected cattle on the high fluoride site were significantly reduced during the period as compared with the corresponding samples of normal control cattle, a great number of echinocytes were present in peripheral blood, and subsequent anaemia. However, affected cattle exposed to selenium revealed increasable erythrocyte parameters, the extent of elevation in these values being dependent on the duration of supplementation with selenium. These findings suggest that fluoride exposure can cause erythrocyte damage, whereas selenium supplementation can antagonize fluoride-induced generation of free radicals and cumulative effects of lipid peroxidation in erythrocytes. Selenium supplementation may help to alleviate the possible hazards associated with bovine endemic fluorosis.
