      • Taman Negara (National Park) Malaysia : Perception or Reality of its Brand Equity

        Taman Negara (TN) of Malaysia is one of the oldest rainforest in the world. It has attracted a large number of visitors among the foreigners and also the locals because of the attraction of its rain forest. However, ever since then, the brand image that was portrayed by the visitors was never being explored by the management of the park. The stakeholders such as the hotel operators, restaurant owners and indeed the visitors themselves have their own view regarding the brand equity of the park. The consequence of this different brand equity of the park led to confusion not only among the stakeholders but also on how to promote the place of attraction not only among the foreigners but to the local Malaysians. The first phase of the research on Taman Negara has been conducted and results shows that the brand equity that comprises of brand awareness, brand loyalty and brand association of Taman Negara as an eco-tourism destination among foreigners is very positive and also a similar view is being portrayed by the locals too. Various brand association has been linked with Taman Negara. The preliminary findings showed that foreigners viewed differently from the locals. The locals viewed that Taman Negara is highly associated with river and jungles but the foreigners felt that the place is a rich heritage of tropical rain forest which they could not enjoy now in their home country. If this situation is not rectified, the whole operation of Taman Negara will lead to different alignment in order to drive the brand implementation of the park. The research was carried out during the peak season of visitor's arrival at the park. A total of 250 respondents were surveyed using a structured questionnaire and also a personal interview was conducted among the park stakeholders. This paper therefore explores the current situation of the brand equity of the park. It is imperative for Taman Negara to have their products with its own brand as a strong brand image could offer several important strategic advantages to the organization. A product that has a powerful brand identity creates a major competitive advantage that encourages repeat visitors.

      • Reliability and Power Estimation of Deep Submicron VLSI Circuits

        This paper presents an overview of recent results in reliability and power estimation of deep submicron VLSI circuits. T71e reliability issues considered are voltage drop, ground bounce, and electromigration in the power and ground busses, hot-carrier induced device degradation, and heating. The common thread that links all these issues is the current flow. We thus describe efficient techniques for estimating average and maximum current flow caused by signal switching in the circuit under expected circuit operation. The relationship between reliability estimation and power estimation will be pointed out but the emphasis of the paper is on reliability . estimation. Examples will be provided in the pre nation.

        Growth and Reproductive Performance of Small Ruminants under Integrated Livestock-Oil Palm Production System

        The effects of supplementation with mixed fodder or concentrate were investigated on the performance of a) growth of male lambs and kids grazing extensively under oil palm trees and b) reproduction of ewes and goats stall-fed with native herbage. Supplemented kids and lambs had higher average daily weight gain than controls but the effect was only significant for those which received concentrate (p < 0.05). Final body weight was only significantly different from controls for lambs supplemented with concentrate (p < 0.05). The ages at puberty, first mating, first conception and first kidding of supplemented goats were about 110 days earlier than those for controls (p < 0.05 or better). Supplemented goats had first mating and conceived at lower body weights (p < 0.01) than those in control groups. Different feeding regimes had no effects (p > 0.05) on the reproductive performance of ewes apart from highest body weight of first lambing in animals supplemented with concentrate (p < 0.05). Native herbage available under oil palm trees of 5 years old was sufficient for growth and reproduction of sheep and goats. Concentrate was better than mixed fodder as supplement for enhancing the reproductive performance of goats but both appeared to have limited effects on the performance of reproduction in ewes and growth in male kids.

        Liver dose reduction by deep inspiration breath hold technique in right-sided breast irradiation

        Purpose: Deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) is a well-established technique that enables efficient cardiac sparing in patients with left-sided breast cancer. The aim of the current study was to determine if DIBH is effective for reducing radiation exposure of of liver and other organs at risk in right breast radiotherapy (RT). Materials and Methods: Twenty patients with right-sided breast cancer were enrolled in this study. Three-dimensional conformal RT plans were generated for each patient, with two different computed tomography scans of free breathing (FB) and DIBH. Nodes were contoured according to the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group contouring guidelines. Dose-volume histograms for the target volume coverage and organs at risk were evaluated and analyzed. Results: DIBH plans showed significant reduction in mean liver dose (5.59 ± 2.07 Gy vs. 2.54 ± 1.40 Gy; p = 0.0003), V<sub>20Gy</sub> (148.38 ± 73.05 vs. 64.19 ± 51.07 mL; p = 0.0003) and V<sub>10Gy</sub> (195.34 ± 93.57 vs. 89.81 ± 57.28 mL; p = 0.0003) volumes compared with FB plans. Right lung doses were also significantly reduced in DIBH plans. Heart and left lung doses showed small but statistically significant improvement with application of the DIBH technique. Conclusion: We report that the use of DIBH for right-sided breast cancer significantly reduces the radiation doses to the liver, lungs, and heart.

        Indirect Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Quantities of Hydrazine

        An indirect, sensitive and accurate method for the determination of trace amounts of hydrazine is described. The method is based on the oxidation of hydrazine by a known excess of iodate in the presence of hydrochloric acid. The unreacted iodate is used in the oxidation of hydroxylamine to nitrite. Sulfanilic acid is diazotized by the nitrite formed. The resulting diazonium ion is coupled with N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine to form a stable azo dye, which shows an absorption maximum at 540 nm. Hydrazine can be determined in the range of 20-400 ng $mL^{-1}$ with a detection limit of 3.1 ng $mL^{-1}$. The relative standard deviation for 50, 200 and 400 ng $mL^{-1}$ of hydrazine is 2, 1.5 and 1.3%, respectively (n = 10). The method was applied to the determination of hydrazine in water samples.

        Improving the Dyeability of Polypropylene Fibers Using Nanoclay and Plasma Treatment

        In this study, polypropylene (PP) and polypropylene/nanoclay composite multifilament yarns with differentnanoclay contents were prepared by melt spinning. The knitted fabrics were then made from these yarns and subjected tooxygen plasma treatment for 5 min. The samples were dyed with a disperse dye and an acid dye and the color strength, colorcoordinates, and fastness properties of the dyed samples were compared. The effect of plasma treatment on the surfacechemistry and morphology of the samples was evaluated using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and atomicforce microscopy (AFM) analyses, respectively. FTIR analysis confirmed the introduction of oxygen-containing groups onthe surface of the plasma-treated samples. AFM images confirmed etching of the fibers, and the surface roughness of thefibers increased significantly after plasma treatment. The incorporation of nanoclay in the multifilament yarns improved thedyeability of the polypropylene/nanoclay composite fibers with disperse and acid dyes. The optimum amount of the nanoclayfor obtaining the highest color strength was 2 wt% and 1 wt%, for dyeing with the disperse and acid dye, respectively. Plasmatreatment enhanced the dyeability and fastness properties of the fibers. The highest K/S values obtained on plasma-treated PP/nanoclay samples were 1.27 and 10.88 for acid and disperse dyes, respectively. The fastness properties of the samples dyedwith the acid dye were generally lower than those of dyed with the disperse dye. The highest washing, dry rubbing, and lightfastness properties were obtained on plasma-treated and disperse-dyed PP/nanoclay (2 %) sample, which were 4-5, 3, and 5,respectively.

        Grafting of Poly(propylene imine) Dendrimer on Polypropylene Nonwoven: Preparation Optimization, Characterization, and Application

        The aim of this study is to prepare a polypropylene nonwoven with the ability to adsorb both anionic and cationiccompounds from aqueous media. Polypropylene nonwoven was activated with oxygen plasma and acrylic acid was graftedon it. Then, poly(propylene imine) dendrimer was grafted on it by a pad-dry-cure process. The effect of three parameters onthe dendrimer grafting yield was studied and the process was optimized using response surface methodology. The preparedsamples were analyzed using ATR-FTIR, FESEM, EDS, AFM, and XPS. The results of different analyses confirmed thegrafting of acrylic acid and dendrimer on the surface of the polypropylene nonwoven. The XPS results showed that thesample prepared under the optimal conditions contains both amine and carboxylic acid groups which enables it to interactwith various compounds. The ability of acrylic acid grafted and dendrimer grafted samples for removal of model anionic andcationic dyes was studied. The dendrimer grafted sample removed more than 70 % and 99 % of cationic and anionic dyesfrom water, respectively.

        스포츠산업, 경영 : 스포츠 소비자의 심리적 요인이 소비자행동에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 스포츠 소비자의 심리적 요인이 소비자행동에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 즉, 스포츠 소비자가 스포츠센터에 가입하는 소비자행동을 유발하는데 중요한 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다.본 연구의 조사대상은 서울 시내 대학교에 재학 중인 대학생을 모집단으로 설정하였으며, 조사대상의 표본은 집락유층목적 표집법(purposed cluster sampling with stratification)으로 추출하였다. 본 연구에서 표집된 유효 표본수는 총 736명이었으나, 실제 분석에 사용된 자료는 불성실하게 응답한 자료로 판단되거나 조사내용의 일부가 누락된 35명의 설문지를 제외한 701명이었다.본 연구에서 사용한 설문지는 스포츠 소비자행동 시작의도, 자기이미지 일치도, 태도, 감정, 경험, 그리고 조사대상의 일반적 특성으로 구성되어 있다.자료분석을 위하여 본 연구에서 사용하고자 하는 통계분석기법은 ‘조사대상의 일반적 특성을 알아보기 위하여 기술통계를 실시하였고, ‘각 변인이 스포츠 소비자행동에 미치는 영향´을 알아보기 위하여 상관관계분석(correlation)과 중다회귀분석(multiple regression)을 실시하였다.이와 같은 자료수집 및 분석과정을 통하여 얻어진 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다.첫째, 스포츠센터 이용자의 자기이미지 일치도는 스포츠센터 가입의도에 긍정적 영향을 미친다.둘째, 스포츠센터 가입시 태도는 긍정적일수록 스포츠센터 가입의도에 긍정적 영향을 미친다.셋째, 스포츠센터 가입시 감정은 긍정적일수록 스포츠센터 가입의도에 긍정적 영향을 미친다. The purpose of this study is to analyze decision making factors for the sport consumer behavior. The sample was drawn from 736 university students located in Seoul in 1998.A questionnaire was designed to measure the influence of the decision making process on sport consumer behavior, consisting of fixed alternative choice responses to items constructed to represent the operational definition for each variable.Statistics employed for data analysis were a multiple classified analysis, product-moment correlation, and a multiple regression.Based upon the results of the study, the following conclusions appear warranted :1. Self-image congruency of sport club users has a positive effect on intention of users to decide to enter a sports club.2. Attitude has a positive effect on intention of users to decide to enter a sports club.3. Emotion has a positive effect on intention of users to decide to enter a sports club.

        Investigation of Microstructure and Wear Properties of Plasma Nitrided Astaloy Mo

        In this research, plasma nitridation is carried out on the as-sintered and hardened Astaloy Mo in order to improve the wearbehavior of PM parts. The starting materials including pre-alloyed powders with 0.8% graphite were pressed at diff erentpressures. Next, the specimens were sintered at 1120 °C for 30 min, in the N 2 /H 2 atmosphere. The eff ects of density and coolingrate were studied on the microhardness, microstructure, and wear performance of as-sintered and hardened specimens. X-ray technique, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive spectroscopy were used for phase transformation,morphology characterization, and elemental analysis, respectively. The results showed that plasma nitridation and an increasein cooling rate and density up to 6.8 g/cm 3 resulted in a change in wear resistance. Moreover, the wear performance of densesamples was decreased due to the enhanced three-body abrasive mechanism.
