This paper is on a new adaptive algorithm which can cancel the acoustic echo signals in the speaker-phone system. The proposed algorithm uses the normalized LMS algorithm with decorrelators. By doing so, it can be reduced the autocorrelation for the voice signals. As the results of simulations, it is proved that the echo canceller adopting this algorithm shows the improved ERLE of about more than 6 dB. Oriental satire is not necessarily homogeneous with Western satire. Wester satire is characterized by ridicule and rebuke. On the other hand, Oriental satire has gentler virtues of sincerity and clemency. Old Shilla folk songs constitute a literary form of satire based uniquely on Confucian ideas. Of such forms of satirical literature is Won-ka ('song of grievances'), whose satire is directed at the then Shilla court and King Hyosung. Such a tradition of satirical poetry in Shilla dynasty was to afford the basis for satirical poetry in Koryeo dynasty.

This study was carried out to determine whether Kamihaengche-tang plus Ydkmijihwang-tang(KCYH) exerts the protective effect against oxidant-induced liver cell injury. Cell injury was estimated by measuring lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) release, and lipid peroxidation was estimated by measurimg malondialdehyde, a product of lipid peroxidation, in rabbit liver slices. tBHP increased the release of LDH and ALT enzymes in dose-dependent manner over the range of 0.2-2 mM concentrations. Similarly, tBHP also increased lipid peroxidation, indicating that tBHP-induced liver cell injury was attributed to lipid peroxidation. When 1% KCYH was added to incubation solution, the cell injury and lipid peroxidation induced by tBHP were markedly prevented. The protective effect of KCYH against the cell injury and lipid peroxidation induced by tBHP was dose-dependent in the range of 0.05-1% concentrations. These results indicate that KCYH exerts the protective effect against oxidant-induced liver cell injury, and this effect is attributed to prevention of lipid peroxidation, However, the precise mechanisms of antioxidant effect of KCYH remain to be defined.

UWB 통신을 위한 Rake 수신기 회로설계

This paper proposes a hardware architecture for implementing the Rake receiver in the UWB wireless communication system. This architecture is the post-buffering Rake receiver functioning the Rake reception without requiring hardware complexities. Rake receiver using the adaptive filter is the architecture suitable to the environment with the little multi-path. If a UWB transceiver ASIC using this architecture is developed, advantages shall have the size of chip, the power dissipation.

Most of the manners and customs of the two villages, Choong-ri and Yeongpo-ri are intended for the future welfare of the baby. Taboos prescribed by the two communities are determined according to the association by similarity and considerations of hygienics. We can find an apparent difference in the manner of disposing of the navel cord between the two villages which are separated from each other at a distance of two kilometers. In Choong-ri, which is located in the mountains, women have them reduced to ashes. This shows that manners and customs owe their establishment to regional environments. It is imperative that we should continue collecting these regional man nears and customs, which areon the verge of extinction, in order to com prehend the spirit of our people more thoroughly.

비선형 음향반향제거기 ASIC 설계

This paper proposes a new structure for eliminating nonlinear echo signals. It not only eliminates the linear echo signal but also the nonlinear echo signal with use of a FIR filter. This structure adds only some taps to the existed linear echo canceller. To testify performances of the proposed nonlinear echo canceller, we did VHDL design and its simulations, and manufactured the test board. These circuits are consist of 224-tap for linear echo and 32-tap for nonlinear echo among 256-tap. We used ModelSim as VHDL simulation tool, FPGA Express as synthesis tool, Maxplus II for implementation with the FLEX10K50RC240-3 chip. As results of the field test in various operation modes, it was shown excellent performances of nonlinear echo cancellation besides the case of long distances of the speaker and the microphone due to the small number of its tap.

Korean ghost love legends center around love affairs between a dead person's soul and l living person. They are divided into two types : a male ghost's love and a female ghost's love. The former concerns a man's wish to return to life and the latter has to do with a woman's faithfulness in following her husband in death. These legends constitute the old pattern for current ghost love stories in Korea. They are a reflction of our traditional way of thinking before the assimilation of foreign ideas, and a widespread expression of our ancestors' view on the immortality of human soul.

Acoustic Echo and Noise Canceller Improvements for Hands-Free Telephones

We propose a new strategy for echo cancellation, where we switch between the Least Mean Squares(LMS) and subband NLMS(SNLMS) algorithms, to achieve fast convergence and high steady-state echo return loss enhancement(ERLE).We start with a low order NLMS filter to achieve fast convergence. Later, we switch to a high order SNLMS filter to achieve high steady-state ERLE. In order to combat environmental noise, we propose cascading an adaptive noise canceling filter. The noise canceling filter converges in the mean to the optimal causal Wiener solution to filter the noise from the near-end signal. Finally, simulation results show the performance of the proposed echo and noise cancellation strategies.

동결견(凍結肩) 환자의 동서협진 치료의 임상효과 비교연구 : 견관절 가동운동범위(ROM) 변화를 중심으로

Objectives : To establish an effective collaborate medicine treatment of acupuncture and western medicine for treating frozen shoulder patients. Methods : 59 voluntary patients were randomly assigned to Eastern treatment group(E group, n=22), Western treatment group(W group, n=17) and East-West treatment group(EW group, n=20). The E group received acupuncture treatment on LI15, TE14, GB21 and Master Dong's acupuncture points, Shin-gwan and Gyun-joong, twice a week for 4 weeks. The W group received suprascapular nerve block, subacromial injection and trigger point injection, twice a week for 4 weeks. The EW group received acupuncture and injection treatment including nerve block. All groups were instructed to practice self exercise during their daily lives. Evaluations were made before treatment and after treatment based on the change in shoulder Range of Motion(ROM) and the patient's satisfaction concerning the treatment was measured by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). The obtained data were analyzed and compared. Results : The patient's satisfaction scores were E group 5.67, W group 7.73 and EW group 7.67. The E group and the EW group showed significant improvement in abbduction, adduction and flexion(p<0.05). The W group showed significant improvement in adduction(p<0.05). Abduction significantly improved(p<0.05) in the EW group compared to E group and W group. Flexion also showed improvement in the EW group, but the difference among the 3 groups was statistically insignificant. The three group's difference of change in extension and adduction was insignificant(p>0.05). Conclusion : Acupuncture and nerve block alone significantly improved ROM in frozen shoulder patients. Also collaborate treatment of acupuncture and nerve block significantly improved ROM in frozen shoulder patients. But the difference of the three treatments were significant only for improving abduction(p<0.05).

CS-ACELP 부호화기의 잡음특성 개선을 위한 에너지정합법

본 논문은 여러 배경잡음에서 높은 성능을 나타내는 8kbps CS-ACELP 부호화기의 음질개선방법에 관한 것이다. 파형정합방법을 이용하는 기존의 CELP 부호화기가 순수한 음성신호에 대해서는 우수한 음질을 제공하지만, 배경잡음에 대해서는 큰 음질저하를 가져온다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 음성신호뿐만 아니라 이러한 배경잡음에 대해서도 우수한 음질을 달성하는 에너지정합방법을 소개한다. 이 방법은 부가적인 비트를 요구하지 않으면서 효과적으로 음질을 개선한다. 실험 결과, 객관적 평가에서는 MSEGSNR이 0.01∼1.1dB 증가하였고, 주관적 평가에서는 MOS 점수가 평균 0.2, 최대 0.5점까지 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 PPS 알고리즘을 적용한 부호화기의 음질이 최대 12%까지 향상되는 것으로 확인되었다. This paper describes a method for growing up the speech quality of 8kbps CS-ACELP speech coder under various background noises. While existing CELP coder using waveform matching method provides high quality for clean speech signals, it has significant quality loss for background noises. Therefore, this paper proposes the energy matching method with high quality for background noises as well as speech signals. This method effectively improves the speech quality without requiring any additive bits. As a result of experiments, in the objective estimation method, MSEGSNR were increased by 0.01∼1.1dB. Also, in the subjective estimation method, MOS was increased by 0.2 averagely and by 0.5 maximally. Therefore, it was proved that this algorithm achieves the improvement of speech quality by 12% maximally.
