      • Aerial Working Environment Monitoring Robot in High Radiation Area

        This paper describes the development of a robot monitoring an aerial working environment in a high radiation area such as the Calandria face at a PHWR (pressurized heavy water reactor) of a nuclear power plant. The robot consists of three main parts: a mobile platform, a telescopic mast, and a mission tool. To access the target place across the guide rail ditch of a shielding door, the mobile platform is equipped with two front rubber wheels, two rear omni-wheels, and four flippers. The telescopic mast installed on the platform is able to lift up the mission devices to the height of 10 m. The mission devices are a radio hardened camera, a leak detecting sensor, a dosimeter detecting high radiation level, and a RAM operating device of a fuel exchange machine. In addition, a control system considering the emergency was developed.

      • Development of a Snake Robot Moving in a Small Diameter Pipe

        This paper presents a snake robot moving in a small diameter pipe. A snake robot is a multi-linked modular robot. The snake robot, KAEROT-snake IV consists of 11 2-DOF actuator modules, a head, and a tail module. Each of the 2-DOF actuator modules has two small DC motors and worm gear boxes to increase the torque output and an embedded motor controller. The snake robot can move in a small diameter pipe with a sequence of holding motion as well as with a sinusoidal motion. Some modules holds the robot itself by pressing outward to induce friction while the other modules move forward/backward and hold the robot at a more front/rear position. A sequence of holding moves the robot forward/backward in a small diameter pipe.

        DEVELOPMENT OF A STEAM GENERATOR TUBE INSPECTION ROBOT WITH A SUPPORTING LEG

        This paper presents details on a tube inspection robotic system and a positioning method of the robot for a steam generator (SG) in nuclear power plants (NPPs). The robotic system is separated into three parts for easy handling, which reduces the radiation exposure during installation. The system has a supporting leg to increase the rigidity of the robot base. Since there are several thousands of tubes to be inspected inside a SG, it is very important to position the tool of the robot at the right tubes even if the robot base is positioned inaccurately during the installation. In order to obtain absolute accuracy of a position, the robot kinematics was mathematically modeled with the modified DH(Denavit-Hartenberg) model and calibrated on site using tube holes as calibration points. To tune the PID gains of a commercial motor driver systematically, the time delay control (TDC) based gain tuning method was adopted. To verify the performance of the robotic system, experiments on a Framatome 51B Model type SG mockup were undertaken.

        Data center of PAL-XFEL

        A data center is indispensable to experimental light source facilities to provide scientists with both real-time and ofine computing capabilities to analyze, store, and archive the data generated at the beamlines. This paper describes the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL) computing facility built to support the X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL). PAL designed the data center for its XFEL in 2014 and built it in 2015. Some components of the design were driven by lessons learned at the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) XFEL at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. The data center has evolved through three iterations since 2015 and PAL is now planning a fourth upgrade. The storage capacity has increased from 200 TB in 2015 to 1.3 PB in 2019, and 6.9 PB in 2022. On the other hand, PAL has not added servers for computing nodes since the frst deployment. PAL plans to add a new 15 PB storage system and a 30 PB tape library as well as servers for computing nodes and basic services after 2024.

        The study discusses the concerning about integration of grammar and media language into the new subject ``Language and media`` especially attempts to unify through relationship between sentences and media language. The purpose of this study is finding common and different points between sentences and media language, possibility of integration, and way to integration. First, the study focused on media at sentence level that is an unit of grammar. For this, the researcher finds correlationships between language and media through previous discussion and how media and sentences, unit of language, are related. Conversely, the researcher finds how sentences are developed in media language. Finally, the study divides achievement standards of 2015 curriculum``s subject ``Language and media`` into achievement standards of sentences and media and suggests way of integration around achievement standards of sentences. Here the study integrates 2 sentence-single achievements with media language achievement standard and sentence-single achievement standard and media-language-single achievement standard because they have similar educational contents. And the study suggests the way of integrated configurations for 2 integrated achievement standards those are integrations of sentences(or grammar) and media language.

      • 흡입구/격리부 모델의 Unstart 과정 2차원 수치 해석

        본 연구에선 Texas University에서 수행된 흡입구/격리부 모델 실험에 대한 2차원 RANS 전산해석을 수행하였다. 먼저 초음속 유동 조건을 해석하여 실험에서 측정된 표면 압력 결과와 비교하고, 마하수 분포와 numerical shadowgraph를 확인하여 유동 구조를 분석하였다. 이후 격리부 후면에 압력 변화로 흡입구 불시동 상황을 묘사하고 비정상 RANS 해석을 수행하여 흡입구 불시동 진행과정을 확인하였다. In this study, the Inlet/Isolator model experiments performed at Texas University were performed by 2-dimensional RANS computerized analysis. First, supersonic flow conditions were analyzed and compared with experimental surface pressure results, and the flow structure was analyzed by confirming Mach number distribution and numerical shadowgraph. Then, the inlet unstart condition was given by changing the back pressure, and the URANS analysis was performed to confirm the progress of inlet unstart.

        <언어와 매체>의 단원 구성 방안 연구

        This study groups how to consist units of < Language and Media >. The main concern is how to make closer to the purpose of the integrated subjects. This study suggests the way by analyzing textbooks which are similar to curriculum. First, analyzed method of organizing contents system of `Speaking and WritingⅠㆍⅡ`, `Reading and GrammarⅠㆍⅡ`, `Speaking and Writing`, `Reading and Grammar` and `Language and Media` which are integrated subjects of Korean education curriculum. By analyzing, the method of organizing contents system is divided into `Stand-alone method`, `Integrated method`. `Integrated method` is divided into `Part-integrated method` and `Whole-integrated method`. Next, categorizing the method of organizing units in textbooks into 6 by analyzing < Reading and GrammarⅠㆍⅡ > and < Reading and Grammar > which are similar to < Language and Media >. The method of organizing units is divided into `Stand-alone method` and `Integrated method`. `Integrated method` is divided into `Part-integrated method` and `Whole-integrated method`. `Part-integrated method` is divided into `Front-part-integrated method`, `Middle-part-integrated method`, `Last-part-integrated method` and `The-front-and-back-integrated method`. Finally, the study suggests `The front and back integrated method` and `Whole-integrated method` for the method of organizing units in < Language and Media >. `The front and back integrated method` is ,consists 4 units and integrates unit 1 and unit 2, `Education curriculum suggestion`. `Whole-integrated method` is ,consists 8 units and integrated unit 2~unit 7 by unifying Language media into Grammar, `integrated suggestion`.

      • 글쓰기 교육용 협동학습 시스템에서 효과적인 피드백 디자인을 위한 가이드라인 개발

        본 연구에서는 동료평가(peer review) 시스템을 활용한 글쓰기 교육에서 학습자가 효과적으로 리뷰(review)활동을 수행할 수 있도록 하는 피드백(feedback)에 대한 가이드라인(guideline)을 제안한다. 제안하는 피드백 가이드라인은, 기존의 연구를 통해 중요하다고 밝혀진 동료평가 기반 글쓰기 교육에서의 리뷰활동을 학습자가 효과적으로 수행할 수 있게끔 하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이러한 목표를 달성하기 위하여 본 논문에서는, 기존 연구에 대한 검토를 통해 리뷰활동이 갖는 글쓰기 교육에서의 중요성에 대하여 설명하고, 리뷰 활동의 효과적인 수행을 위한 피드백 제공 전략을 제안한다. 또한 논문을 통해 도출되는 연구문제, 즉 효과적인 리뷰 활동을 위한 피드백의 제공이 갖는 성과에 대하여도 예측한다. The purpose of this research is to propose a feedback guideline by which learners can conduct an effective review on writing in a peer-based review system. Based on the findings of previous studies, we discussed the important role of a peer-based review activity in the field of writing education. Then, we proposed feedback strategies that aimed to guide an effective review activity for learners. Finally, we predicted potential results of our feedback guideline. We further discussed a way to implement an automatized system of our feedback guideline.
