In this paper, I will contend that, while the primary role of writing is to convey the information of the spoken words, other kinds and layers of information can also be passed on through the features that writing exhibits. I hope that the ways I examine writing will throw light on the multiplicity of the meanings that writing can create, meanings that have been often overlooked. This paper has looked at multiple additional meanings and usages that writing can have, on top of its primary role as a representation for speech. When words are written down, the definition and meanings can be transplanted as they are, but depending on how the writing is treated physically or visually, there can occur additional connotations that regular speech cannot create. Depending on how writing is presented, it may convey much more messages than speech can normally do. Writing is the transplantation of sound, but the visual features of writing can present significances and meanings in ways that sound cannot. This is the reason why one has to consider the visual elements of the writing.
The Effects of Enjoyment, Reciprocity, and Economic Reward on Helping through Information Systems
Gyudong Lee 한국인터넷전자상거래학회 2016 인터넷전자상거래연구 Vol.16 No.5
In organizations, help-requests frequently occur in the computer-mediated environment such as electronic bulletins and knowledge management systems. The present paper identifies the antecedents of helping in the non-emergency situation. The findings of this study show that enjoyment in helping has a positive effect on willingness to help others in the workplace irrespective of help-provider"s organizational tenure. However, the effects of reciprocity and economic reward on willingness to help others vary according to organizational tenure. Dynamics of these antecedents of helping via information systems are discussed.
동적 물질세계를 위해 전역적 참조 프레임을 사용한 정성적 공간 표현 및 추론법 QSR-14
박규동(Gyudong Park),변영태(Young-tae Byun) 한국인지과학회 2011 인지과학 Vol.22 No.1
When quantitative representation and reasoning about space is difficult or impossible in a real world, we can use qualitative representation and reasoning. RCC-8 is a well-known qualitative method for 2D space. RCC-8, in which a basic ontological primitive entity for space is a region, shows the connection-based logics and the conceptual neighbors and transitions of topological status between two regions. The transitions happen by changing position or size of regions. However, more aspects have to be considered for representing and reasoning of the world. We propose a modified and extended method QSR-14 for qualitative spatial representation and reasoning of a dynamic physical 2D world in the gravitation field. We mention the need of a global reference frame and describe QSR-14 in detail for representing and reasoning of physical and chemical changes of a real world using the global reference frame. We believe QSR-14 is appropriate for the qualitative spatial representation and reasoning of a dynamic physical world. The usefulness of QSR-14 is shown with several examples.

Kinship terminology was collected in this study from distinct vocabulary books produced in Korea and Japan in the 17th and 18th centuries. Based on this, the breadth of relatives usually accepted in Korea and Japan in the period may be determined, as well as the whole range of kinship recognized at the time. Basic work was done through this research to understand how the kinship terminology system in modern Korean and Japanese was developed. We will be able to uncover the structure of vocabulary interrelations regardless of their size or number if we find a hint to systematize the vocabulary through comparison and contrast activities, as described in this article. In addition, we believe that this work will aid researchers in better understanding the relational networks between vocabulary and meaning.
