Mixed photocatalyst containing cadmium sulfide and zinc sulfide was prepared on silica gel powder and Nafion film. Photo-irradiation of aqueous mixture containing the photocatalysis generated hydrogen by water cleavage reaction. Use of sodium sulfide as sacrificial reagent help the photo-reaction. Evolution of the hydrogen was measured by gas chromatographic analysis. Composition of the catalyst was determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. 0.2 mL of of hydrogen was generated per hour. The maximun catalytic activity was obtained after 8-12 hours later. Hydrogen generation efficiency by the two different catalytic system was compared and showed that the Nafion-based catalyst is more efficient than the silicagel-based catalyst for the photoreaction

Solvent extraction, soxhlet method, and supercritical fluid extraction were considered, respectively, as the method of choice for the recovery of DHA from lyophilized Thraustochitrium sp., and the results of corresponding extraction were compared. Supercritical fluid extraction seem to be the most appropriate process with respect to time, process simplicity, and extractant intoxicity.

<P>This report presents the results of APMP.QM-K41, a key comparison. This comparison is designed to test the capabilities of the NMIs to measure and certify hydrogen sulfide at a nominal amount fraction of 10 µmol/mol in nitrogen. This comparison provides an opportunity to the NMIs in APMP to submit supporting evidence for CMC at the same level as CCQM-K41. 고도로 효율적인 분석방법인 모세관 전기영동 시스템을 최적의 감도를 갖는 상태의 기기로 국내에서 제작하였다. 50 ${\mu}m$ 내경을 가진 모세관을 완충용액으로 채워준 후 모세관의 양끝에 20∼35 kV의 전압을 걸어주는 이 분석방법은 20분 이내에 10 nl 이하의 소량의 시료를 이론단수가 20∼50만 정도가 되도록 분리할 수 있는 매우 좋은 분리능으 가지고 있다. 모세관 전기영동법의 분리능과 분리도를 증가시키는데 영향을 주는 요소들을 알아보기 위하여 catecholamine과 adenine 유도체를 분석하였다. Capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) which is highly efficient separation technique has been domestically established having optimum detection sensitivity. By applying 20∼35 kV of electric potential to the narrow (50 ${\mu}m$ i.d.) capillary tubing filled with running buffer, this technique can quickly (< 20 min) separate the small quantities of sample with high separation efficiency (number of theoretical plates : 200,000∼500,000). Factors affecting the separation efficiency and resolution in CZE were examined by analyzing adenine and catecholamine derivatives.
열분해-가스크로마토그래피/질량분석법에 의한 가황고무중의 유기첨가제의 직접분석

Analysis of additives in cured rubber is often a difficult task for analytical chemists because of a wide variety of complex components. Conventional analyses of additives and rubbers have been done in multistep, off-line processes with large sample size and extensive sample preparations. The coumarone-indene resin, resorcinol-formaldehyde resin, and prevulcanization inhibitor have been characterized by their pyrolysis pathways and mass spectra of characteristic pyrolyzates. Pyrolysis Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) was used in the identification of additives without any sample pretreatment. This result shows that several organic additives in cured rubber can be directly analyzed. 고무가황체는 고분자인 천연고무 및 합성고무에 여러 가지 유기첨가제를 배합하여 만든다. 이와 같은 배합고무의 분석은 여러 가지 다른 성질을 갖는 다양한 첨가제들로 인하여 많은 전처리 과정을 거쳐야 하므로 그 분석이 용이하지 않다. 이를 극복하기 위하여 열분해 가스크로마토그래피질량분석법(Pyrolysis Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry)을 이용하여 고무가황체 중의 유기 고무약품들의 직접분석을 시도하였다. 점착제인 쿠마론-인덴수지(coumarone-indene resin $C-90^{TM}$), 접착제인 알킬페놀 레조시놀 포름알데히드 수지, 가류지연제 등의 고무첨가제의 열분해과정 및 열분해체들의 질량스펙트럼들을 확인하였고 이를 통하여 복잡한 구성 성분으로 이루어진 가황고무 중에서 이들 배합제의 직접분석이 가능하였다.
Poly-3-hydroxyalkanoates Produced from Pseudomonas olevorans Grown with ω-Phenoxyalkanoates

Poly-3-hydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) produced by Pseudomonas oleovorans grown solely with 6-phenoxyhexanoate, 8-phenoxyoctanoate, and 11-phenoxyundecanoate were investigated. Weight fractions of PHAs in dry cells were ∼10%, regardless of the carbon substrate used. DSC thermograms of these polymers showed no crystalling melting endotherm. Glass transition temperatures were ∼20℃, and number-average molecular weights were ∼65 000, with polydispersity indexes of 2.7 for all PHAs. GC/MS analysis showed that 3-hydroxy-5-phenoxypentanoate was the main repeating unit in the PHA produced from 11-phenoxyundecanoate, and 3-hydroxy-4-phenoxybutyrate was the main repeating unit in PHAs produced from 6-phenoxyhexanoate and 8-phenoxyoctanoate.
