        MICROCRYSTALLINE Fe - Si - Al - B THIN RIBBON

        By means of adding B into Sendust alloy (Fe-Si-Al) with state of amorphous ribbon, mechnical properties of alloy was improved effectively, and magnetic properties didn't decrease obviously. The optimum adding quantity of B is 0.015-0.03 wt%. The adding of B was thought to give rise to reduction of ordering degree of Fe₃(Si, Al) phase of Sedust alloy(Fe-Si-Al-B) and result in improvment of embrittlement of this alloy.

        The involvement of Parkin-dependent mitophagy in the anti-cancer activity of Ginsenoside

        Colon cancer, the third most frequent occurred cancer, has high mortality and extremely poor prognosis. Ginsenoside, the active components of traditional Chinese herbal medicine Panax ginseng, exerts antitumor effect in various cancers, including colon cancer. However, the detailed molecular mechanism of Ginsenoside in the tumor suppression have not been fully elucidated. Here, we chose the representative ginsenoside Rg3 and reported for the first time that Rg3 induces mitophagy in human colon cancer cells, which is responsible for its anticancer effect. Rg3 treatment leads to mitochondria damage and the formation of mitophagosome; when autophagy is inhibited, the clearance of damaged mitochondria can be reversed. Next, our results showed that Rg3 treatment activates the PINK1-Parkin signaling pathway and recruits Parkin and ubiquitin proteins to mitochondria to induce mitophagy. GO analysis of Parkin targets showed that Parkin interacts with a large number of mitochondrial proteins and regulates the molecular function of mitochondria. The cellular energy metabolism enzyme GAPDH is validated as a novel substrate of Parkin, which is ubiquitinated by Parkin. Moreover, GAPDH participates in the Rg3-induced mitophagy and regulates the translocation of Parkin to mitochondria. Functionally, Rg3 exerts the inhibitory effect through regulating the nonglycolytic activity of GAPDH, which could be associated with the cellular oxidative stress. Thus, our results revealed GAPDH ubiquitination by Parkin as a crucial mechanism for mitophagy induction that contributes to the tumor-suppressive function of ginsenoside, which could be a novel treatment strategy for colon cancer.

        EFFECT OF FLASH ANNEALING ON MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF Fe - BASED NANOCRYSTALLINE ALLOYS

        A heat-treatment method of pre-annealing and then flash annealing(FA) has been used to improve the soft magnetic properties of nanocrystalline Fe_(76)CuSi₁₃B_(10) and Fe_(74)CuNb₃Si₁₂B_(10) alloys. Outstanding magnetic properties of nanocrystalline Fe_(74)CuNb₃Si₁₂B_(10) alloy were attained by flash-annealing in air after annealed at 500℃ for 0.5hr below the crystallization temperature. The same results were obtained for Fe_(74)CuSi₁₃B_(10) alloy. The measurment of relief of stress and X-ray diffraction were used to analyze the effect of flash-annealing.

        Characterization of Volatile Compounds in Donkey Meat by Gas Chromatography–Ion Mobility Spectrometry (GC–IMS) Combined with Chemometrics

        Volatile compounds (VOCs) are an important factor affecting meat quality. However, the characteristic VOCs in different parts of donkey meat remain unknown. Accordingly, this study represents a preliminary investigation of VOCs to differentiate between different cuts of donkey meat by using headspace–gas chromatography–ion mobility spectrometry (HS–GC–IMS) combined with chemometrics analysis. The results showed that the 31 VOCs identified in donkey meat, ketones, alcohols, aldehydes, and esters were the predominant categories. A total of 10 VOCs with relative odor activity values ≥1 were found to be characteristic of donkey meat, including pentanone, hexanal, nonanal, octanal, and 3-methylbutanal. The VOC profiles in different parts of donkey meat were well differentiated using three- and two-dimensional fingerprint maps. Nine differential VOCs that represent potential markers to discriminate different parts of donkey meat were identified by chemometrics analysis. These include 2-butanone, 2- pentanone, and 2-heptanone. Thus, the VOC profiles in donkey meat and specific VOCs in different parts of donkey meat were revealed by HS–GC–IMS combined with chemometrics, whcih provided a basis and method of investigating the characteristic VOCs and quality control of donkey meat.
