        A retrospective clinical and histologic study of 30 non-Hodgkin's lymphomas diagnosed at the Department of Hemato-oncology of the Chosun University from January 1989 to December 1993 is presented. Among total 30 cases whose sexes were mentioned, male were 18 and female were 12 and the ratio is 1.5:1. The peak incidence of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma was found in the third decade. The case distributions by Working formulation were summarized in table 3. The most common histopathologic type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma was the diffuse large cell type of intermediate grade. The presenting symptoms at the time of first visit to the hospital were summarized in table 4. The most common symptoms were palpable mass. Lymph node enlargements were found in 87 %, and most frequently on cervical area(35%). The incidence of primary nodal lymphoma is more frequent than extranodal lymphoma, 1.2:1. The most common primary site of extranodal lymphoma is the gastrointestinal tract. In the laboratory findings, the data of hemoglobin and hematocrit were summarized in table 8, 9, Values of hemoglobin and hematocrit of female patients greater than those of male patients. The results of the immunophenotypings of nodal and extranodal lymphoma indicates that the B-cell lymphoma are predominant(B:T=1.4:1). The clinical stage was Ⅱ in 9 cases(30%) Ⅲ in 9 cases(30%), Ⅳ in 8 cases(26.7%), Ⅰin 4 cases(13.3%), 28 cases were treated with CHOP regimen. Among them, 17 cases(60.8%) achieved a complete remission. 5 cases had a partial response. The most frequent toxicities were toxic hepatitis.

        In this study, we design and implement the system which learn a speech registered by people through telephone network and recognize it automatically when a user repeats it. We performed a summary end point detection by using Rabiner & Sambur method which was a corrected form, using only log energy, as end point detection of a speech. Basing on the result of recognition rate experiment about a few feature parameters, we used filter bank coefficient as a feature parameter and self organization feature map to make its proceeding fast by decreasing filter bank coefficient.

        본 논문에서는 복합프로그래밍 지원 환경에서 필요한 점진적 코드생성에 관한 연구를 하였다. 점진적 코드생성은 프로그램의 수정후 불 일치한 트리가 발생되었을 때 최소한의 트리를 방문하여 항상 수행 가능한 프로그램 상태를 유지할 수 있게 해준다. 또한 대상 언어에 대한 구문을 미리 인식하고 있어 구문 오류가 발생될 때 마다 즉각 수정이 가능하며, 정적 의미 분석은 context-free 또는 context-sensitive에 대한 오류를 방지할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 점지누적 애트리뷰트 평가 알고리즘을 사용하여, 추상구문 트리에 p-code를 첨가하여 점진적 코드생성을 실험하였다. This paper is a study concerned with incremental code-generation which is in need of state which supports integrate programming environments. When after modification of the program the inconsistent tree is found, the incremental code-generator moves minimal tree and then makes the state of program capable of execution and keep it. The incremental code-generation recognized already the syntax of language. When the syntax errors occur, the program can modify immediately. Syntatic analysis can protect against context-free and context-sensitive errors. This paper uses incremental attribute evaluation algorithms and then research into incremental code-generation with abstract syntax tree adding p-code.

        본 논문에서는 전화선을 통해 사랑이 발성한 음성을 저장, 학습하여 사용자가 다시 그 내용을 발성할 경우 자동적으로 이를 인식하는 시스템을 설계, 구현한다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시스템은 신경 회로망과 동적 시간 정합법을 이용하는 하이브리드 형태의 시스템으로, 특징 파라미터로는 필터 뱅크 계수를 사용하였으며 필터 뱅크 계수의 차원수를 줄여 처리 속도를 빠르게 하기 위한 방안으로 자기 조직화 지도를 사용하였다. 또한 자기 조직화 지도에 대응하여 동작하는 상부 인식기로는 소규모 고립단어 인식에 적합한 동적 시간 정합법을 채택하였다. What we have done in this study is to make hybrid type system which uses a neural network and a dynamic time warping. We performed a summary end point detection by using Rabiner & Sambur method which was a corrected form, using only log energy, as end point detection of a speech. We used filler bank coefficient as a feature parameter and self organization feature map to make its proceeding fast by decreasing filter bank coefficient. We took a dynamic time warping which was proper for recognizing small isolated words as an upper recognition system which is against self organization feature map.

      • 가변 비트율을 통한 적응형 스트리밍 서비스 시스템의 설계

        최근 VOD(Video On Demand)나 AOD(Audio On Demand) 서비스가 급증하면서 멀티미디어 스트리밍 기술에 대한 관심이 커지고 있다. 기존의 스트리밍 서비스는 정적으로 멀티미디어를 전송하므로 네트워크 환경의 대역폭(bandwidth) 변화에 대처하는데 한계가 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 적응형 스트리밍 서비스(ASS; Adaptive Streaming Service) 시스템을 제안한다. ASS 시스템은 가변 비트율을 통한 미디어 스케일링방식을 이용하여 멀티미디어 데이터를 동적으로 전송한다. 기존의 스트리밍 서비스의 버퍼링 방식의 단점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 프레임 조정방식과 화질 조정방식을 동시에 채택하여 적용함으로써 고화질이 보장되는 전송환경(비디오의 프레임 정보는 단위 시간당 프레임 수 3단계, 화질 5단계)과 느린 회선에서도 끊김없이 안정적인 스트리밍 서비스를 제공받을 수 있도록 한다. ASS시스템을 실제 네트워크 환경에서 사용하면 멀티미디어 전송시 대역폭 변화에 대처하는 한계를 극복할 수 있으며, 보다 안정된 스트리밍 서비스를 제공받을 수 있을 것이다. As the service of VOD(Video On Demand) and AOD(Audio On Demand) increases, the need for multimedia streaming technique is on the increase. Because of static transmission of existing multimedia streaming service, it is difficult to deal with variation of bandwidth. Thus we propose a ASS(Adaptive Streaming Service) system in order to provide more efficient multimedia streaming service. Because ASS system use the method of media streaming using variable bit rate, ASS system is possible to dynamic transmission. As the ASS system accept both control method of frame and control method of quality, ASS system is possible to provide stable streaming service without cutting at slow line and to provide high quality at transmission environment(video frame : step 3, quality : step 5 frame per hour). If we implement ASS system on network, then we'll solve the problems about variation of bandwidth and it'll be provide us stable streaming service.

        Histiocytic medullary reticulosis (HMR) is a malignant noeplastic process, with tumor cells belonging to the histiomonocytic line, and originally described by Scott and Robb-Smith in 1939 characterized by its acute onset, progression to death within a few months and its clinical features are fever, lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, jaundice, and purpura common laboratory findings are characterized by severe anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia and histologically by systemic progressive invasion of morphologically atypical histiocytes or of their precursor. 61 and 37-year-old males were admitted with camplaints of high fever and chilling sensation and were treated by cyclophosphamide, vincristine, prednison and antiobiotics, but patients all died 17 and 14 days after admission due to probably sepsis and respiratory failure.

      • Gold-Decorated Block Copolymer Microspheres with Controlled Surface Nanostructures

        <P>Gold-decorated block copolymer microspheres (BCP-microspheres) displaying various surface morphologies were prepared by the infiltration of Au precursors into polystyrene-<I>b</I>-poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PS-<I>b</I>-P4VP) microspheres. The microspheres were fabricated by emulsifying the PS-<I>b</I>-P4VP polymers in chloroform into a surfactant solution in water, followed by the evaporation of chloroform. The selective swelling of the P4VP domains in the microspheres by the Au precursor under acidic conditions resulted in the formation of Au-decorated BCP-microspheres with various surface nanostructures. As evidenced by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurements, dotted surface patterns were formed when microspheres smaller than 800 nm were synthesized, whereas fingerprint-like surface patterns were observed with microspheres larger than 800 nm. Au nanoparticles (NPs) were located inside P4VP domains near the surfaces of the prepared microspheres, as confirmed by TEM. The optical properties of the BCP-microspheres were characterized using UV–vis absorption spectroscopy and fluorescence lifetime measurements. A maximum absorption peak was observed at approximately 580 nm, indicating that Au NPs are densely packed into P4VP domains on the microspheres. Our approach for creating Au-NP-hybrid BCP-microspheres can be extended to other NP systems such as iron-oxide or platinum NPs.         Acupuncture for patients with lumbar spinal stenosis: a randomised pilot trial

        <P>Objective To assess the safety and feasibility of acupuncture for participants with symptomatic lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) in a pilot study. Methods 50 participants with a clinical and radiological diagnosis of LSS were randomised to receive acupuncture combined with usual care (acupuncture group), or usual care alone (control group). Participants in the acupuncture group were offered 12-16 sessions of manual acupuncture +/- electroacupuncture over 6 weeks and maintained their usual self-management. The control group was provided with physical therapy as required and maintained their usual self-management. The primary outcome was the change in back-specific functional status, as measured by the Oswestry disability index (ODI) at the 3-month follow-up. Secondary outcomes included symptoms and other relevant domains. Outcome assessors were not blinded. Results 39 participants (78%) completed the trial with 524 treatment visits. There were no significant differences between the two groups in back-specific function (ODI: mean difference -2.5, 95% CI -8.9 to 3.8). Pain in the back and/or leg showed small improvements at 3 months, while there were no significant differences in other secondary outcomes. The total number of adverse events was 61 (12% of 524 treatment visits). All but one were minor and transient. The one severe adverse event was deemed to be unrelated to acupuncture. Conclusions The study was feasible. Acupuncture combined with usual care did not confer significant functional improvements over usual care alone. Further randomised trials with adequate sample sizes and outcome assessor blinding are warranted to evaluate the role of acupuncture for LSS.</P>

      • Variations in the number of CCL3L1 gene copies and Kawasaki disease in Korean children.

        <P>High-dose intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) therapy is the highly effective and standard treatment for Kawasaki disease (KD). However, similar to 20 % of KD patients have persistent fever or recurrence of fever after the initial IVIG treatment, which increases the risk for coronary artery lesions (CALs). Furthermore, the mechanism of IVIG resistance in KD patients still is unknown. The number of CC chemokine ligand 3-like 1 (CCL3L1) gene copies is reported to be associated with KD and IVIG resistance in Japanese patients. In addition, the authors observed significant upregulation of the CCL3L1 gene expression after in vitro immunoglobulin treatment in B cell lines derived from KD patients. Therefore, this study of 459 KD patients and 496 healthy control subjects tested whether the number of CCL3L1 gene copies is associated with a risk of KD, CALs, and/or IVIG resistance in Korean KD patients. However, the number of CCL3L1 gene copies was not associated with KD (P = 0.18), CAL formation (P = 0.062), or the IVIG resistance (P = 0.90). Therefore, the results indicate that the number of CCL3L1 gene copies does not have a role in susceptibility to KD or CALs nor with IVIG resistance in Korean KD patients.</P>

      • Assessment of risk factors for Korean children with Kawasaki disease.

        <P>Kawasaki disease (KD) is the most common cause of acquired heart disease in children. Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) is the standard therapy for KD, but more than 10% of KD patients do not respond to IVIG and are at high risk for the development of coronary artery lesions (CALs). To identify clinical and genetic risk factors associated with CAL development and IVIG nonresponsiveness, this study analyzed the clinical data for 478 Korean KD patients. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that incomplete KD, IVIG nonresponse, fever duration of 7??days or longer, and the CC/AC genotypes of the rs7604693 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the PELI1 gene were significantly associated with the development of CALs, with odds ratios (ORs) ranging from 2.06 to 3.04. The risk of CAL formation was synergistically increased by the addition of individual risk factors, particularly the genetic variant in the PELI1 gene. Multivariate analysis also showed that a serum albumin level of 3.6??g/dl or lower was significantly associated with nonresponsiveness to IVIG [OR, 2.76; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.34-5.68; P??=??0.006]. Conclusively, incomplete KD, IVIG nonresponsiveness, long febrile days, and the rs7604693 genetic variant in the PELI1 gene are major risk factors for the development of CALs, whereas low serum albumin concentration is an independent risk factor for IVIG nonresponsiveness.</P>
