Yong Zhang,Xue Zhou,Xie Ge,Jiang-Hao Jiang,Mu-Wang Li,Shi-Hai Jia,Xiao-Nan Yang,Yun-Chao Kan,Xue-Xia Miao,Guo-Ping Zhao,Fei Li,Yong-Ping Huang 한국응용곤충학회 2009 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2009 No.10
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous non-coding genes that participate in post-transcription regulation by either degrading mRNA or blocking its translation. It is considered to be very important in regulating insect development and metamorphosis. Insects are the largest group of animals and are extremely valuable in biological and agriculture research. Insects are also important pests to human health and agriculture, and efforts are necessary protect both humans and plants from disease and damage. Despite their importance, insects lag behind mammals, nematodes, and plants in miRNA research. At present, only 279 insect miRNAs have been identified from Drosophila melanogaster, Anopheles gambiae, Apis mellifera, Bombyx mori, and D. pseudoobscura in miRBase, and most of these miRNAs were computationally predicted without experimental validation. Functional analysis of insect miRNAs has only been conducted in D. melanogaster.
Key Parameters Design Method of AGF Method for Metro Connecting Passage in Water-Rich Coastal Area
Feicong Zhou,Ping Zhou,Jinyi Li,Tiancheng Ge,Jiayong Lin,Zhijie Wang 대한토목학회 2022 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.26 No.12
Artificial Ground Freezing Method (AGF) is an efficient, environmentally friendly reinforcement method for the construction of metro connecting passage in water-rich and weak stratum. The core of AGF is the design of frozen wall thickness and freezing temperature. In order to obtain the quantitative relationship between the freezing temperature and the frozen wall thickness, this study firstly equates the frozen wall to a rectangular frame mechanical model based on the stress state of the frozen wall formed by AGF. And then the calculation method of frozen wall thickness based on strength conditions is obtained by theoretical estimation. Furthermore, based on the relationship between the strength of the frozen soil and the freezing temperature obtained from the experiment, the freezing temperature and the frozen wall thickness are related to propose a frozen wall thickness design method considering the freezing temperature. In addition, experimental studies revealed that the compressive strength and shear strength of frozen soil increase linearly as the freezing temperature decreases. Secondly, the lower the freezing temperature, the smaller the frozen wall thickness required. Notably, the relationship between the frozen wall thickness and freezing temperature formed by the AGF method can be obtained through the design method proposed in this paper. Taking actual case as an example, when the frozen wall thickness is selected from 1.2 to 2.2 m, the required freezing temperature range is (-5) to (-25)oC. Finally, the feasibility of the designed freezing parameters in the connecting passage construction is verified through numerical simulation and field measurement, which shows that the design method has a promotion prospect.

The structural stability and magnetic properties of Mn3+xAl1-xC antiperovskite with varied Mn/Al substitution were studied systematically. Single phase Mn3+xAl1-xC alloys with antiperovskite structure were obtained in samples with x = −1/4, 0, 1/4, 1/2. An additional Mn23C₆ phase was precipitated from Mn3+xAl1-xC antiperovskite for x = 3/4 while Mn23C₆ phase was formed as major phase for x = 1. The mutual substitution of Mn and Al atoms has substantial effect on the Curie temperature and the saturation magnetization of the Mn3+xAl1-xC alloys. In comparison with the as-cast alloys, the as-annealed Mn3+xAl1-xC alloys exhibit reduced Mn/Al substitutions after high temperature homogenization, which enhances the ordering of Mn and Al atoms in the lattices. The Curie temperature of the homogenized Mn3+xAl1-xC increases with increasing Mn substitution to Al. The Mn₃AlC alloy shows the highest saturation magnetization among all samples with varied Mn/Al ratios. Most samples show zero coercivity and zero remanent magnetization. The maximum value of the magnetic entropy changes of Mn2.75Al1.25C at 285 K is 2.26 J/㎏ K in fields up to 3 T.

Background: Radiotherapy is an important treatment of choice for breast cancer patients after breast-conserving surgery, and we compare the feasibility of using dual arc volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT2), single arc volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT1) and Multi-beam Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (M-IMRT) on patients after breast-conserving surgery. Materials and Methods: Thirty patients with breast cancer (half right-sided and half left-sided) treated by conservative lumpectomy and requiring whole breast radiotherapy with tumor bed boost were planned with three different radiotherapy techniques: 1) VMAT1; 2) VMAT2; 3) M-IMRT. The distributions for the planning target volume (PTV) and organs at risk (OARs) were compared. Dosimetries for all the techniques were compared. Results: All three techniques satisfied the dose constraint well. VMAT2 showed no obvious difference in the homogeneity index (HI) and conformity index (CI) of the PTV with respect to M-IMRT and VMAT1. VMAT2 clearly improved the treatment efficiency and can also decrease the mean dose and V5Gy of the contralateral lung. The mean dose and maximum dose of the spinal cord and contralateral breast were lower for VMAT2 than the other two techniques. The very low dose distribution (V1Gy) of the contralateral breast also showed great reduction in VMAT2 compared with the other two techniques. For the ipsilateral lung of right-sided breast cancer, the mean dose was decreased significantly in VMAT2 compared with VMAT1 and M-IMRT. The V20Gy and V30Gy of the ipsilateral lung of the left-sided breast cancer for VMAT2 showed obvious reduction compared with the other two techniques. The heart statistics of VMAT2 also decreased considerably compared to VMAT1 and M-IMRT. Conclusions: Compared to the other two techniques, the dual arc volumetric modulated arc therapy technique reduced radiation dose exposure to the organs at risk and maintained a reasonable target dose distribution.

Lixiang Gao,Ruli Ge,Gang Xie,Dandan Yao,Ping Li,Oumei Wang,Xiufang Ma,Fengchan Han 대한이비인후과학회 2017 Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology Vol.10 No.4
Objectives. To investigate the otoprotective effects of mouse nerve growth factor (mNGF) in A/J mice. Methods. The mice at postnatal day 7 (P7) were randomly separated into a mNGF treated group (mNGF group) and a distilled water (for injection) treated group (control group). The mNGF dissolved in distilled water or distilled water alone was given to the mice once every other day from P7 by intramuscular injection in the hips. The otoprotective effects of mNGF in A/J mice were observed in a time course manner. The thresholds of auditory-evoked brainstem response (ABR) were tested from the age of the 3rd to the 8th week. Sections of the inner ears were stained by hematoxylin and eosin, and spiral ganglion neurons (SGNs) were observed at the age of the 3rd, the 6th, and the 8th week. Counts of whole mount outer hair cells (OHCs) in the cochleae were made at the age of 8 weeks. Expression of apoptosis related genes was determined by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting. Results. ABR thresholds of the mNGF group were significantly lower than those of the control group at the age of the 6th and the 8th week. Moreover, the mNGF preserved OHC and SGN in the mouse cochleae in this period. Further experiments showed that the expression of caspase genes (including caspase-3) was inhibited in the mouse inner ears in the mNGF group. Conclusion. The mNGF improves hearing in A/J mice by preserving SGN and OHC in the cochleae.

Cubic perovskite-type Mn4C is difficult to prepare for its metastable characteristics. In this work, we have obtained high-purity Mn4C successfully by using melt-spinning method. The effects of stoichiometry on the structure and magnetic properties of the samples were studied systematically. We found that x = -0.1 is the optimum composition for the formation of the cubic perovskite phase in Mn4+xC during rapid quenching. Most Mn4+xC melt-spun ribbons with x other than -0.1 are composed of Mn23C6, α-Mn, and Mn4C, while the fraction of different phase in Mn4+xC ribbons varies with x. The Curie temperature of Mn4+xC ribbons increases slightly with decreasing x, which may affect the lattice parameters of cubic Mn4C and thus the Mn-Mn exchange interactions. The magnetization of Mn4+xC (x = -0.1 and 0) increases with increasing temperature in high-temperature region while the onset temperature for such behavior is dependent on the fraction of Mn4C in the samples.

Both Mn₄C (=Mn₃MnC) and Mn₃GaC have been studied previously. However, the reports on Mn3+xGa1-xC (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) with intermediate compositions are very rare. In this work, the structure and magnetic properties of Mn3+xGa1-xC prepared by using solid state reaction were studied systematically. High purity anti-perovskitetype Mn3+xGa1-xC were obtained in the composition range of 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5, above which Mn₂₃C₆ precipitates and the fraction of Mn₂₃C₆ in the samples increases with increasing x. The structural stability, lattice parameters, and room temperature saturation magnetization of ferromagnetic Mn3+xGa1-xC (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) decreases with increasing x. The Curie temperature of Mn3+xGa1-xC (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) increases with increasing x. Most Mn3+xGa1-xC with varied x exhibit near-zero coercivity and zero remanent magnetization. This work indicates that the temperature coefficient of magnetization of Mn3+xGa1-xC may be tuned by tuning the fraction of the Ga atoms.

Probiotics effectively prevent and improve metabolic diseases such as diabetes by regulating the intestinal microenvironment and gut microbiota. However, the effects of probiotics in gestational diabetes mellitus are not clear. Here, we showed that probiotic supplements significantly improved fasting blood glucose in a gestational diabetes mellitus rat model. To further understand the mechanisms of probiotics in gestational diabetes mellitus, the gut microbiota were analyzed via 16S rRNA sequencing. We found that compared with the normal pregnant group, the gestational diabetes mellitus rats had decreased diversity of gut microbiota. Moreover, probiotic supplementation restored the diversity of the gut microbiota in gestational diabetes mellitus rats, and the gut microbiota structure tended to be similar to that of normal pregnant rats. In particular, compared with gestational diabetes mellitus rats, the abundance of Firmicutes and Actinobacteria was higher after probiotic supplementation. Furthermore, activating carbohydrate metabolism and membrane transport pathways may be involved in the potential mechanisms by which probiotic supplements alleviate gestational diabetes mellitus. Overall, our results suggested that probiotic supplementation might be a novel approach to restore the gut microbiota of gestational diabetes mellitus rats and provided an experimental evidence for the use of probiotic supplements to treat gestational diabetes melitus.
