( Dr. Wolfgang Eder ) 포스코경영연구원(구 포스코경영연구소) 2016 Asian Steel Watch Vol.1 No.-
<strong>Interview with worldsteel Chairman</strong> <p>Wolfgang Eder, 63, has been Chairman of the Management Board of voestalpine since 2004. Under his leadership, the Group almost tripled its revenue from around EUR 4 billion to more than EUR 11 billion and developed from a traditional European steel-producing company to a technology and capital goods group that operates globally and enjoys above average profitability.</p> <p>Mr.Eder took over the office of worldsteel Chairman for a second term in October 2015 ? the first time in the 50-year history of the organization that an incumbent Chairman was reelected. worldsteel is the second largest industry association worldwide, which has around 170 association members, representing 85% of global steel production. He was also President of the European Steel Association EUROFER from October 2009 to May 2014.</p> <p>Dr. Wolfgang Eder Chairman and CEO of voestalpine AG, Chairman of worldsteel</p>
Ostrowski type inequality for absolutely continuous functions on segments in linear spaces
Eder Kikianty,Sever S. Dragomir,Pietro Cerone 대한수학회 2008 대한수학회보 Vol.45 No.4
An Ostrowski type inequality is developed for estimating the deviation of the integral mean of an absolutely continuous function, and the linear combination of its values at k + 1 partition points, on a segment of (real) linear spaces. Several particular cases are provided which recapture some earlier results, along with the results for trapezoidal type inequalities and the classical Ostrowski inequality. Some inequalities are obtained by applying these results for semi-inner products; and some of these inequalities are proven to be sharp An Ostrowski type inequality is developed for estimating the deviation of the integral mean of an absolutely continuous function, and the linear combination of its values at k + 1 partition points, on a segment of (real) linear spaces. Cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) were obtained from Typha domingensis (an invasive macrophyte) collected fromlagoons and wetlands in Altamira, Mexico. Cellulose extraction was carried out by a treatment with aqueous NaOH in a batchreactor followed by NaClO-bleaching and subsequent hydrolysis with sulfuric acid. The fibers were characterized by FourierTransform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The crystallinity of the cellulose fibers isolated from Typhadomingensis increased from 29 % (not treated fibers) to 73 % and the beginning of thermal degradation increased from 246 oCto 312 oC before and after the bleaching. The CNCs isolated from this plant show average values of 20 nm in diameter and 190 nmin length. Micrographs of the Typha domingensis fibers and the cellulose isolated therefrom as well as bleached celluloseindicate the removal of hemicellulose, lignin, and waxes from the fibers, which corroborates the XRD and FTIR results.

YouTube, the most successful video platform to date, is an important source for identifying public opinions, fantasies, and feelings about transhumanism. Looking at YouTube can show us how its many users think about human enhancement and possible posthuman futures; and that may help us to better understand the democratic viability or even legitimacy of political decisions concerning enhancement technologies. Moreover, YouTube not only is an indicator of collective imaginations but has an important influence on them as well. Because it allows for uploading user-generated content and participating in recommendations, comments and discussions, it can be seen as a cultural forum of exchange or as a battlefield where different opinions collide and intermesh. This paper tries to give a first, provisional survey of YouTube’s discourses about transhumanism, human enhancement, and posthuman futures. The analysis proceeds in three steps: After some general considerations concerning transhumanism and representations of posthumans in popular culture, it turns to the specifics of YouTube as a new media form. On that basis, four kinds of discourses concerning transhumanism are distinguished and illustrated by brief examples of typical videos and comments: non-fictional discourses (1) about emerging technologies in human therapy and enhancement, as well as (2) about the transhumanist movement, (3) fictional discourses about posthuman futures, and (4) reflective, meta-fictional discourses about mass media representations of posthumanity. The analysis of those discourses shows highly divergent tendencies of evaluating human enhancement. Taken together, those evaluations suggest that a majority of YouTube users take a skeptical stance towards enhancement technologies in general, while they may be more ready to accept concrete technologies with demonstrable benefits. Moreover, the discourses show that collective imaginations of human nature and posthumanity are changing: the human species is more and more seen not as something fixed and stable but as something transformable and ephemeral.

In the occurrence of natural disasters or any other event that causes damage to the communication system’s infrastructure of a city, logistics and rescue works tend to lack in countermeasures to assure a stable communication when needed. This study is aimed to developing a collision-free optimal flight path of a solar-powered UAV, exploiting its capability for long endurance flights, using it as a Low Altitude Platform (LAP) for communication relay. The model considers the solar incidence angle, aircraft attitude, influence of Artificial Potential Fields, and Free-space transmission signal. Apart from this considerations, a flight altitude restriction is defined and bounded to maximum antenna range. As a result of the simulation, a collision-free flight path considering antenna specifications for communication relay was tested resulting in the acquisition of significant data regarding the feasibility of the approach.

Nanocrystalline cerium oxide (CeO2) was used as an effective catalytic and adsorption material for thesafe removal of selected phosphorus compounds. Several CeO2 samples were prepared by a simple coprecipitationmethod with subsequent annealing at temperatures between 400–600 C, and their sorptionability for inorganic phosphates was studied together with their ability to decompose the organophosphoruscompound - paraoxon methyl (PO) - with the goal to find the relations between the sorptionand catalytic activity of the prepared materials. It was found that a complex set of physical and chemicalcharacteristics (surface area, crystallite size, pore volume/size, the number of surface hydroxyl groups)plays a crucial role in the governing of adsorption ability and catalytic activity. From the dependenceof some characteristics (i.e., the number of surface hydroxyl groups, BET surface area, crystallite size)on the annealing temperature and their mutual correlations, the model describing the degradation oforganophosphate compounds on the surface of cerium oxide was deduced.
Reinforcement Learning based Flight Path Planning of a Solar Powered UAV

This paper presents the analysis of the flight path of a solar-powered Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) using Reinforcement Learning (RL) algorithm as a preliminary study for the optimal flight path planning considering weather conditions. The RL algorithm has the advantage of being able to learn from online simulations as well as offline hardware equipment. For the flight path generation a RL algorithm was trained using the UAV"s equations of motion as environment parameters. First, the UAV"s kinematic and dynamic equations of motion as environment parameters. First, the UAV"s kinematic and dynamic equations were specified in order to train the model. Then, using a critic-actor learning method for the agent model, the policy was obtained as a function of the state observations and rewards. The learning process was carried out with a waypoint follower problem, and the results analyzed.
