The objective of this paper is to investigate the effects of the laser power, the material thickness, comer angles, and the loop size on the formation of the comer in the cutting of Inconel 718 super-alloy sheet using high-power CW Nd: YAG laser. In order to investigate the influence of comer angles and loop sizes on the melted area and the formation of comer in the sharp comer, angular cutting tests and loop cutting tests were carried out. The results of the angular cutting tests were shown that the melted area is minimized and the melting mode is changed from nose melting in the thickness direction to the secondary melting induced by the attached dross when the comer angle is $90^{\circ}$. Through the results of loop cutting tests, the variation of the melted area and the comer shape in the sharp comer according to the loop size were examined. In addition, it was shown that a proper loop size is approximately 3 mm. The results of above experiments will be reflected on the knowledge base to generate optimal cutting path of the laser.

The objective of present research works is to investigate the effects of process parameters, including the power of laser, cutting speed, material thickness, and the edge angle, on the melted area in the sharp edge of the cut material fur the case of cutting of a low carbon steel sheet using high-power CW Nd:YAG laser. In order to investigate the influence of edge angle and size of loop on the melted area in the sharp edge, angular cutting tests and loop cutting tests have been carried out. From the results of angular cutting tests, the relationship between the edge angle and the melted area has been obtained. The results of the experiments have been shown that the melted area is rapidly reduced from $120^{\circ}$ of the edge angle and the melted area is nearly zero at $150^{\circ}$ of the edge angle. Through the results of loop cutting experiments, the relationship between the cutting angle on the melted area in the edge according to the size of loop have been obtained. In addition, it has been shown that a proper size of loop is nearly 3 mm as the corner angle is greater than $90^{\circ}$ and 5 mm as the comer angle is less than $90^{\circ}$. The results of above experiments will be reflected on the knowledge base to generate optimal cutting path of the laser.

The objective of this research works is to develop back panel dies of PDP TV with a large size. In order to design the geometry of the dies and an initial size of blank optimally, the finite element analysis has been carried out using AUTOFORM V4.2. The conner radius of the upper trimming area and the distance from the outer line of the blank holder to the outer line of the blank have been selected as design parameters to remove the wrinkling of the trimming area. The results of the analyses have been shown that a feasible product without wrinkles and skid lines can be obtained when the conner radius ranges from 6㎜ to 8㎜ and the distance is greater than 20㎜. From the proposed design of the dies and an initial blank size, the final die set of the back panel has been successfully manufactured.
Mold Flow를 이용한 박벽 케이스 제작용 사출성형 금형 설계

The objective of this research work is to design the injection mould for thin walled parts and to investigate the influence of process parameters on the quality of the molded part using the Mold Flow. The type of the runner and gate is selected as a design parameter of the mould. The injection time, the injection pressure, the temperature of the injection material, and the cooling time are selected as process parameters to obtain an optimum injection condition. From the result of the analysis for each design condition of the mould, it has been shown that an insufficient filling does not occur when the mixed type of the runner system with a hot runner and a cold runner is introduced. In addition, the nozzle type of the hot runner and the optimum design of the cold runner have been found. The effects of process parameters on the shrinkage rate of the molding part has been performed using the result of analysis for each combination of process parameters.
3 차원 사출성형 해석을 통한 컴퓨터 마우스 제작용 이중사출성형 금형의 공정조건 결정

본 논문의 목적은 3 차원 사출성형 해석을 통하여 컴퓨터 마우스 제작용 이중사출성형 금형의 공정조건을 결정하는 것이다. 적합한 사출성형 공정조건을 선정하기 위하여 사출 시간, 최대 사출압력 및 보압 시간이 사출성형 특성과 제품 품질에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 고찰하였다. 사출성형 해석 결과로부터 제품의 수축과 휨 변형을 최소화 할 수 있는 최적 사출성형 공정조건을 예측하였다. 최종적으로 사출성형 실험을 수행하여 이종재료로 구성된 컴퓨터 마우스 제품을 제작하였다. 이 결과로부터 선정한 사출성형 공정조건을 적용할 경우 적절한 이종 재료로 구성된 컴퓨터 마우스가 제작될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. The objective of this study determine the molding conditions of a double-shot injection mold for fabricating a computer mouse using different materials, by performing three-dimensional injection molding analysis. In order to select the optical injection molding conditions, the effects of the injection time, the maximum injection pressure, the effect of packing time on the injection molding characteristics, and the product qualities were quantitatively examined. From the results of the injection molding analysis, the optimal injection molding conditions of the double-shot injection mold, which leads the molded product to the minimized shrinkage and deflection, were estimated. The results of the injection molding experiments, showed that an appropriate computer mouse can be fabricated using different materials when the identified optimal injection molding conditions are adopted.
자유 경계 조건에서 전단형 딤플 내부구조체를 가진 ISB판재의 충격 특성 분석

The objective of this paper is to investigate into characteristics of the impact energy absorption of ISB panels for the case of the free boundary conditions. In order to examine into characteristics of the impact energy absorption, drop impact tests have been performed. Through the results of the impact tests, The absorbed impact energy per weight, the deformation characteristics of the ISB panels have been quantitatively examined. The experimental results of the ISB panels have been compared to that of SPFC 780 sheet. The impact energy of the tests ranges from 37.1J to 109.1J. From the results of the experiments, it has been shown that ISB panels have a high absorbed impact energy per weight about 9% in comparison with SPFC 780 sheet.
3 차원 사출성형 해석을 통한 냉장고 플라스틱 서랍 제작용 사출성형 금형의 형상적응형 냉각수로 설계

본 논문의 목적은 3 차원 사출성형해석을 통한 냉장고 플라스틱 서랍 제작용 사출성형 금형의 형상적응형 냉각수로 설계이다. 바람직한 형상적응형 냉각수로의 설계를 얻기 위하여 형상적응형 냉각수로의 직경과 위치가 사출성형 특성과 제품의 품질에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 고찰하였다. 해석결과로부터 제품의 균일 냉각과 변형 최소화가 가능한 최적의 형상적응형 냉각수로의 설계를 도출할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안된 사출성형 금형과 기존의 직선형 냉각수로의 사출성형 금형을 냉각/제품 제작 시간 및 제품 품질 측면에서 비교한 결과, 형상적응형 냉각수로를 가진 사출성형 금형이 제품의 생산성과 품질을 동시에 향상시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. The objective of this study is to design the conformal cooling channels for the mould of a plastic drawer of a refrigerator by analysis of three-dimensional injection molding. In order to obtain the desired design of the conformal cooling channels, the influence of the diameter and the position of the conformal cooling channels on the moulding characteristics and the product qualities were quantitatively examined. From the results of the examination, an optimal design of the conformal cooling channels, which ensures uniform cooling and minimum potential deformation of the molded drawers, was estimated. By comparing the designed mould and a conventional mould with linear cooling channels from the viewpoints of the product qualities as well as cooling and cycle times, it was shown that the mould with conformal cooling channels can simultaneously improve the productivity of the injection moulding process and the product qualities.

The relationship between the edge angle and the melted area with respect to each cutting condition has been obtained to investigate the effects of the cutting angel on the melted area in the edge. The results of the experiments have been shown that the melted area is rapidly reduced from 120 o of the edge angle and the melted area is nearly zero at 150 o of the edge angle. The loop cutting experiments have been carried out to obtain the relationship between the cutting angle on the melted area in the edge with respect to the size of loop. From the results of the experiments, it has been shown that the melted area is greatly reduced when the size of loop is less than 5 ㎜.

The geometry and the defect of the groove of the part provoke a sudden change of stress in a local region. The objective of this paper is to investigate the effects of the geometry and the imperfection of a small groove on stress distributions in the vicinity of the joined region for the ABS part with a thin wall using a three-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA). Several types of groove are designed to improve joining characteristics in the vicinity joined region. The imperfection model of the small-sized groove is obtained from observation of deposition characteristics of a fused deposition modeling process. Local stress distributions in the vicinity of the joined region are predicted by the FE model with refined meshes. The influence of the angle and the imperfection of the groove on appearance regions of the maximum stress and distributions of the defined principal stress for different loading conditions is examined using the results of FEAs. Finally, a proper design of the groove is proposed to improve joining characteristics between the substrate and the ABS part.
