Chen, Shao-Bin,Weng, Hong-Rui,Wang, Geng,Yang, Jie-Sheng,Yang, Wei-Ping,Liu, Di-Tian,Chen, Yu-Ping,Zhang, Hao Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.6
More studies are needed to clarify treatments and prognosis of early esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). This retrospective study was designed to review the outcome of surgical treatment for early ESCC, evaluate the results of a left thoracotomy for selected patients with early ESCC, and identify factors affecting lymph node metastases and survival. The clinicopathological data of 228 patients with early ESCC who underwent transthoracic esophagectomy with lymphadenectomy without preoperative adjuvant treatment were reviewed. The ${\chi}^2$ test or Fisher's exact test were used to detect factors related to lymph node metastasis. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify prognostic factors. There were 152 males and 76 females with a median age of 55 years. Two hundred and eight patients underwent a left thoracotomy, and the remaining 20 patients with lymph nodes in the upper mediastinum more than 5 mm in short-axis diameter by computed tomography scan underwent a right thoracotomy. No lymph node metastasis was found in the 18 patients with carcinoma in situ, while lymph node metastases were detected in 1.6% (1/62) of patients with mucosal tumours and 18.2% (27/148) of patients with submucosal tumours. Only 7 patients showed upper mediastinal lymph node metastases in the follow-up. The 5- and 10-year overall survival rates were 81.4% and 70.1%, respectively. Only histologic grade (P<0.001) and pT category (P=0.001) significantly correlated with the presence of lymph node metastases. In multivariate analysis, only histologic grade (P=0.026) and pT category (P=0.008) were independent prognostic factors. A left thoracotomy is acceptable for selected patients with early ESCC. Histologic grade and pT category affected the presence of lymph node metastases and were independent prognostic factors for early ESCC.
Modeling and Design Adaptive Double Neural Network Controller for Eight-Rotor Micro Aircraft Vehicle
Di Li,Zhihong Lu,Xiang-jian Chen 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Control and Automation Vol.7 No.11
In this article, a dynamic model of a six degrees of freedom (6 DOF) Eight-Rotor MAV (micro aerial vehicles) is derived on the basis of the Newton-Euler formalism. The derivation comprises determining equations of the motion of the Eight-Rotor MAV in three dimensions and approximating the actuation forces through the modelling of aerodynamic coefficients and electric motor dynamics. For Eight-Rotor MAV is inherently unstable as they are highly sensitive to external perturb, here provides an adaptive double neural network controller for the motion control of the Eight-Rotor MAV autonomous flight. This controller is developed in three parts around each of the variables. The experimental results show that the proposed adaptive double neural network controller outperforms the conventional PID controller due to its fast adaptive qualities in the presence of sensor measurement noise and the parameters variations of Eight-Rotor MAV.
A Seamless Constraint Model of Multi-Scale Representation of Geographical Information
Di Chen,Han Yue,Xinyan Zhu 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.9 No.8
At present, it has become a hot issue to provide a multi-representation mechanism and build multi-scale spatial databases in the field of GIS. Meanwhile, an inevitable problem is how to evaluate and preserve the consistency of multi-scale spatial data. In this paper, we introduce the concepts of homonymous points and homonymous entities based on innate characteristics of spatial data and put forward a seamless constraint model of multi-scale representation of geographic information that involves time, geometry, spatial relations and semantic characteristics. According to this model, a consistency assessment method has been implemented by computing similarities between vector data at three different scales. The main contributions of this paper are the proposal of a consistency constraint model and assessment system of multi-scale spatial data.

High-ordered particle-in-bowl (PIB) arrays are developed in this paper for surface enhancedRaman spectroscopy (SERS). A heterogeneous shadow mask, composing of the chrome (Cr) layerand colloid residues, is used to fabricate the silicon (Si) template from where the PIB arrays¯nally lift-o®. The ¯nite di®erence time domain (FDTD) method is employed to investigate theRaman enhancement mechanism of this PIB architecture. The electromagnetic (EM) ¯eld tendsto concentrate in the gap between the bowl and the particle forming the \hot spots". Theenhancement factor (EF) of the EM ¯eld is about 70 with an excitation wavelength of 785 nm. The Raman measurements validate the EM calculation of the PIB arrays. The EF is about1 : 12 ? 10 7 using Rodamine 6G (R6G) as probe molecule. The proposed PIB array is high-orderedin morphology and ultra-sensitive in Raman measurement, providing an ideal substrate forSERS-based bio-chemical sensing, disease diagnosis and analytical chemistry.

Effects of blue light on pigment biosynthesis of Monascus
Di Chen,Chunmao Xue,Mianhua Chen,Shufen Wu,Zhenjing Li,Changlu Wang 한국미생물학회 2016 The journal of microbiology Vol.54 No.4
The influence of different illumination levels of blue light on the growth and intracellular pigment yields of Monascus strain M9 was investigated. Compared with darkness, constant exposure to blue light of 100 lux reduced the yields of six pigments, namely, rubropunctatamine (RUM), monascorubramine (MOM), rubropunctatin (RUN), monascorubrin (MON), monascin (MS), and ankaflavin (AK). However, exposure to varying levels of blue light had different effects on pigment production. Exposure to 100 lux of blue light once for 30 min/day and to 100 lux of blue light once and twice for 15 min/day could enhance RUM, MOM, MS, and AK production and reduce RUN and MON compared with non-exposure. Exposure to 100 lux twice for 30 min/day and to 200 lux once for 45 min/day decreased the RUM, MOM, MS, and AK yields and increased the RUN and MON. Meanwhile, the expression levels of pigment biosynthetic genes were analyzed by real-time quantitative PCR. Results indicated that gene MpPKS5, mppR1, mppA, mppB, mmpC, mppD , MpFasA, MpFasB, and mppF were positively correlated with the yields of RUN and MON, whereas mppE and mppR2 were associated with RUM, MOM, MS, and AK production.
Advanced Path-Migration Mechanism for Enhancing Signaling Efficiency in IP Multimedia Subsystem
( Kai-di Chang ),( Chi-yuan Chen ),( Shih-wen Hsu ),( Han-chieh Chao ),( Jiann-liang Chen ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2012 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.6 No.1
Since Internet Protocol (IP) is the most important protocol in Next Generation Networks (NGNs), 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) utilizes Session Initial Protocol (SIP) based on IP as the base protocol for negotiating sessions in IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). Different from traditional circuit-switched network, in IMS, the media traffic and signaling are delivered through IP transport. The media traffic may affect the signaling efficiency in core network, due to traffic collisions and best effort packets delivery. This paper proposes a novel path-migration mechanism for enhancing the traffic efficiency in integrated NGN-IMS. The simulation results show that the interference and traffic collision can be reduce by applying proposed path-migration mechanism and the signaling efficiency in core network can be improved with higher system capability and voice quality.

Background: A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to compare the post-recurrence survival with hepatic re-resection versus transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) for recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after initial resection. Materials and Methods: All relevant papers were searched via PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library databases. Hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were pooled using a random-effects model. Subgroup analysis was performed according to country. Sensitivity analysis was performed in studies which clearly reported the recurrent regions, in moderate/high-quality studies, in studies published in full-text form, and in studies published after 2005. Results: In total, twelve papers were included in our study. Five and seven of them were of moderate- and poor-quality, respectively. The overall meta-analysis demonstrated a statistically significantly higher post-recurrence survival in the hepatic re-resection group than in those undergoing TACE (HR=0.64, 95%CI=0.52-0.79, P<0.0001). Heterogeneity was statistically significant and statistical significance remained in the subgroup analysis. Sensitivity analyses were also consistent with the overall analysis. Conclusions: Hepatic re-resection might provide a better post-recurrence survival than TACE for recurrent HCC after initial resection. However, considering the low quality of published studies and the potential bias of treatment selection, further randomized trials should be warranted to confirm these findings.
