Estimation of the Optimal Ratio of Standardized Ileal Digestible Threonine to Lysine for Finishing Barrows Fed Low Crude Protein Diets

        Xie, Chunyuan,Zhang, Shihai,Zhang, Guijie,Zhang, Fengrui,Chu, Licui,Qiao, Shiyan Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2013 Animal Bioscience Vol.26 No.8

Two experiments were conducted to determine the standardized ileal digestible (SID) lysine (Lys) requirement and the ideal SID threonine (Thr) to Lys ratio for finishing barrows. In Exp. 1, 120 barrows with an average body weight of $72.8{\pm}3.6$ kg were allotted to one of six dietary treatments in a randomized complete block design conducted for 35 d. Each diet was fed to five pens of pigs containing four barrows. A normal crude protein (CP) diet providing 15.3% CP and 0.71% SID Lys and five low CP diets providing 12% CP with SID Lys concentrations of 0.51, 0.61, 0.71, 0.81 and 0.91% were formulated. Increasing the SID Lys content of the diet resulted in an increase in weight gain (linear effect p = 0.04 and quadratic effect p = 0.08) and an improvement in feed conversion ratio (FCR) (linear effect p = 0.02 and quadratic effect p = 0.02). For weight gain and FCR, the estimated SID Lys requirement of finishing barrows were 0.71 and 0.71% (linear broken-line analysis), 0.79 and 0.78% (quadratic analysis), respectively. Exp. 2 was a 26 d dose-response study using SID Thr to Lys ratios of 0.56, 0.61, 0.67, 0.72 and 0.77. A total of 138 barrows weighing $72.5{\pm}4.4$ kg were randomly allotted to receive one of the five diets. All diets were formulated to contain 0.61% SID Lys (10.5% CP), which is slightly lower than the pig's requirement. Weight gain was quadratically (p = 0.03) affected by SID Thr to Lys ratio while FCR was linearly improved (p = 0.02). The SID Thr to Lys ratios for maximal weight gain and minimal FCR and serum urea nitrogen (SUN) were 0.67, 0.71 and 0.64 using a linear broken-line model and 0.68, 0.78 and 0.70 using a quadratic model, respectively. Based on the estimates obtained from the broken-line and quadratic analysis, we concluded that the dietary SID Lys requirement for both maximum weight gain and minimum FCR was 0.75%, and an optimum SID Thr to Lys ratio was 0.68 to maximize weight gain, 0.75 to optimize FCR and 0.67 to minimize SUN for finishing barrows.

Effect of Tea Polysaccharides on Thermal and Pasting Properties of Wheat Starch

        Haihua Zhang,Shikang Zhang,Chunyuan Zhang,Yuejin Zhu,Yunyun Huang 한국차학회 2015 한국차학회지 Vol.- No.S

The thermal and pasting properties of wheat starch (WS)/tea polysaccharides (TPS) composite system were investigated. Significant increases of transition temperatures (To, Tp, Tc) and the enthalpy of gelatinization (ΔH1) of WS/TPS (2 wet% and 4 wet%) were found as TPS content increased. The lower ΔH2 (endothermic enthalpy under reheating) and R2 (degree of retrogradation of WS) were also detected in WS/TPS in storage of 3,7,14 days when compared with those of WS. The agreements were shown by RVA with the lower total setback and by Texture Analyzer with lower gel firmness. The results of TPS affecting the thermal and pasting properties could be generally explained with Avrami equation of WS/TPS. The Avrami equation exposed that TPS affect the primary nucleation in early stage and the decreased nucleation rate announced by the constant k. The overall results demonstrated that the TPS has an inhibitory effect on the recrystallization of pasting WS in storage.

Fine Mapping of a Foot-and-Mouth Disease Virus Epitope Recognized by Serotype-Independent Monoclonal Antibody 4B2

        Yongzhong Yu,Haiwei Wang,Lei Zhao,Chunyuan Zhang,Zhigang Jiang,Li Yu 한국미생물학회 2011 The journal of microbiology Vol.49 No.1

VP2 is a structural protein of the foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV). In this study, a FMDV serotype-independent monoclonal antibody (MAb), 4B2, was generated. By screening a phage-displayed random 12-peptide library, we found positive phages displaying the consensus motif ETTXLE (X is any amino acid (aa)), which is highly homologous to ^6ETTLLE^11 at the N-terminus of the VP2 protein. Subsequently, a series of GST-fusion proteins expressing a truncated N-terminus of VP2 were examined by western blot analysis using the MAb 4B2. The results indicated that the motif ^6ETTLLE^11 of VP2 may be the minimal requirement of the epitope recognized by 4B2. Moreover, a 12-aa peptide ^2KKTEETTLLEDR^13 was shown to be the minimal unit of the epitope with maximal binding activity to 4B2. Alanine-scanning analysis demonstrated thatThr^7, Thr^8, and Leu^10 are the functional residues of the 4B2 epitope Glu^6 and Leu^9 are required residues, and Glu^11 plays a crucial role in the binding of MAb 4B2. The fine mapping of the epitope indicated that MAb 4B2 has the potential to be used in FMDV diagnosis.

Efficient Parallel TLD on CPU-GPU Platform for Real-Time Tracking

( Zhaoyun Chen ),( Dafei Huang ),( Lei Luo ),( Mei Wen ),( Chunyuan Zhang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2020 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.14 No.1

Trackers, especially long-term (LT) trackers, now have a more complex structure and more intensive computation for nowadays’ endless pursuit of high accuracy and robustness. However, computing efficiency of LT trackers cannot meet the real-time requirement in various real application scenarios. Considering heterogeneous CPU-GPU platforms have been more popular than ever, it is a challenge to exploit the computing capacity of heterogeneous platform to improve the efficiency of LT trackers for real-time requirement. This paper focuses on TLD, which is the first LT tracking framework, and proposes an efficient parallel implementation based on OpenCL. In this paper, we firstly make an analysis of the TLD tracker and then optimize the computing intensive kernels, including Fern Feature Extraction, Fern Classification, NCC Calculation, Overlaps Calculation, Positive and Negative Samples Extraction. Experimental results demonstrate that our efficient parallel TLD tracker outperforms the original TLD, achieving the 3.92 speedup on CPU and GPU. Moreover, the parallel TLD tracker can run 52.9 frames per second and meet the real-time requirement.
