        포스트 코로나 시대, 학교는 공존을 어떻게 가르칠 수 있는가?: 듀이 ‘자연과의 상호의존성’ 개념의 명확화를 중심으로

        본 연구는 코로나19로 인하여 우리 사회에 폭증하고 있는 혐오 현상을 극복하고 함께 어울려 살아가는 공존적 삶의 태도를 어떻게 가르칠 수 있는지에 대해서 탐구한 것이다. 우리가 마주한 코로나19라는 위기 상황은 궁극적으로 ‘자연과의 분리’와 ‘공동체와의 분리’라는 복합적인 분리 현상에 원인이 있다는 측면에서, 듀이의 ‘자연과의 상호의존성(natural piety)’ 개념은 인간과 자연, 인간과 사회의 상호작용과 관계의 회복을 추구하는 삶의 태도를 교육하는 일의 중요성과 함께 학교의 구체적 역할을 도출하는 데 많은 시사점을 준다. 연구자는 먼저 듀이의 ‘자연과의 상호의존성’ 개념을 그의 다른 저작과 연결하여 명확화하였으며, 이 개념의 핵심을 (ⅰ) 의존성, (ⅱ) 총체적 환경으로서의 자연, (ⅲ) 지성적 탐구로서 설명하였다. 여기에 근거하여 학교가 공존을 가르칠 수 있는 구체적 원리로서 (ⅰ) 관계의 회복과 의사소통 교육, (ⅱ) 통합적 생태교육, (ⅲ) 삶의 연속성 교육을 제안하였다. 나아가 ‘자연과의 상호의존성’을 획득한다는 것은 자아와 세계를 분리하는 상황에 저항하는 삶의 태도인 동시에, 차이를 아우르는 ‘곁’을 늘려가는 공존적 태도를 지닌 시민으로 성장한다는 것임을 설명하였다. This study explores how to overcome the hate phenomenon that is exploding in our society due to COVID-19 and teach an attitude of coexistence in living together. Dewey's concept of “natural piety” is applicable in the sense that the crisis situation we face is ultimately caused by the complex separation phenomenon of “separation from nature” and “separation from community.” This study provides numerous implications for deriving the specific role of schools along with the importance of educating students on a life attitude that seeks to restore the relationships and interaction between humans and nature and between humans and society. First, Dewey's concept of “natural piety” was clarified by linking it with his other works, and the core of this concept was explained as (i) dependence, (ii) total environment, and (iii) intellectual inquiry. Based on this, as specific principles that schools can teach in regard to coexistence, (i) education for restoration of relationships and communication, (ii) integrated eco-education, and (iii) continuity of life education were proposed. Furthermore, I explain that acquiring “natural piety” is a life attitude in of resisting situations that attempt to separate the self and the world and, at the same time, growing into a citizen with a coexistence attitude that increases “side”-encompassing differences.

      • Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3‐mediated CD133 up‐regulation contributes to promotion of hepatocellular carcinoma

        <P>Enhanced expression of the cancer stem cell (CSC) marker, CD133, is closely associated with a higher rate of tumor formation and poor prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. Despite its clinical significance, the molecular mechanism underlying the deregulation of CD133 during tumor progression remains to be clarified. Here, we report on a novel mechanism by which interleukin‐6/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (IL‐6/STAT3) signaling up‐regulates expression of CD133 and promotes HCC progression. STAT3 activated by IL‐6 rapidly bound to CD133 promoter and increased protein levels of CD133 in HCC cells. Reversely, in hypoxic conditions, RNA interference silencing of STAT3 resulted in decrease of CD133 levels, even in the presence of IL‐6, with a concomitant decrease of hypoxia‐inducible factor 1 alpha (HIF‐1α) expression. Active STAT3 interacted with nuclear factor kappa B (NF‐κB) p65 subunit to positively regulate the transcription of HIF‐1α providing a mechanistic explanation on how those three oncogenes work together to increase the activity of CD133 in a hypoxic liver microenvironment. Activation of STAT3 and its consequent induction of HIF‐1α and CD133 expression were not observed in Toll‐like receptor 4/IL‐6 double‐knockout mice. Long‐term silencing of CD133 by a lentiviral‐based approach inhibited cancer cell‐cycle progression and suppressed <I>in vivo</I> tumorigenicity by down‐regulating expression of cytokinesis‐related genes, such as TACC1, ACF7, and CKAP5. We also found that sorafenib and STAT3 inhibitor nifuroxazide inhibit HCC xenograft formation by blocking activation of STAT3 and expression of CD133 and HIF‐1α proteins. <I>Conclusion</I>: IL‐6/STAT3 signaling induces expression of CD133 through functional cooperation with NF‐κB and HIF‐1α during liver carcinogenesis. Targeting STAT3‐mediated CD133 up‐regulation may represent a novel, effective treatment by eradicating the liver tumor microenvironment. (H<SMALL>EPATOLOGY</SMALL> 2015;62:1160‐1173)</P>

        코로나 시대, 교사는 종교에 대해서 무엇을 말해야 하는가?: 듀이 종교론을 중심으로

        본 연구는 코로나19 상황에서 종교에 대한 다양한 비판적 목소리가 흘러나오는 지금, 공교육을 현장에서 실천하고 있는 교사는 과연 종교에 대해서 무엇을 말할 수 있으며, 무엇을 말해야 하는지에 대해 철학적으로 탐구한 논문이다. 이를 위해서 연구자는 Dewey의 후기 저작인 『공동 신앙(A Common Faith)』에 제시된 종교론을 분석하였으며, 그 핵심을 ‘종교적 경험’, ‘신’, ‘민주적 공동체’로 제시하였다. 그의 종교론에 따르면 종교는 절대적 존재에 의지하는 명사적 개념으로 정의할 수 없으며, 자신의 삶을 보다 나은 것으로 만드는 상태인 ‘형용사적 상황’으로 직접 체험할 수 있는 영역의 것이다. Dewey는 ‘신’ 개념 역시 특정 초월적 존재가 아닌, ‘다양한 이상적 가치의 총합’으로 설명하며, 그러한 이상이 우리 삶에서 구현되는 과정에서 사회가 ‘민주적 공동체’가 된다고 말한다. 연구자는 이러한 Dewey의 종교론에 근거하여, 코로나19 상황에서 증가하고 있는 타인에 대한 혐오와 배타적 태도, 초월적 존재에 대한 맹목적 신념이 지닌 문제점을 비판하였다. 나아가 교사는 학생들이 추구해야 할 삶의 태도로서 ‘종교적 경험’의 가치에 대해서 말할 수 있어야 함을 주장하였으며 그 구체적 내용으로 ⅰ) 형용사적 가치 추구의 태도, ⅱ) 배타성의 극복, ⅲ) 민주시민의 참여적 태도에 대하여 논하였다. This study began with a philosophical contemplation about what is the essence of religion, now that various critical voices on religion are flowing in the Corona 19 situation, and what can teachers who practice public education in the field really say about religion? I analyzed the theory of religion presented in Dewey's later work, A Common Faith, and suggested its core as 'religious experience', 'god', and 'democratic community'. According to his theory of religion, religion cannot be defined as a noun concept that relies on absolute existence, but it is a realm that can be experienced as an adjective situation, a condition that makes one's life better. The concept of 'God' is also explained as 'the sum of various ideal values' rather than transcendental beings, and it is said that society becomes a ‘democratic community' in the process that such ideals are embodied in our lives. Based on Dewey's theory of religion, I criticized the problems of the increasing hatred and exclusive attitude toward others and blind belief in transcendental beings in the Corona 19 situation, and suggested that teacher should be able to talk about the value of 'religious experience'. Specifically, it discussed ⅰ) the attitude of pursuing adjective values, ii) overcoming exclusivity, and iii) the participatory attitude of democratic citizens.

        코로나 시대, 교사는 잃어버린 교육 리듬을 어떻게 회복할 수 있는가?: 듀이 리듬 개념의 명확화를 중심으로

        본 연구는 듀이의 리듬 개념에 근거하여, 코로나19로 교사들이 상실한 교육 리듬을 어떻게 회복할 수 있을지에 대해서 탐구하였다. 듀이가 제시한 리듬 개념의 핵심은 ‘심미적 반복’, ‘균형으로의 변주’, ‘시공간의 통합’으로 요약할 수 있다. ‘심미적 반복’은 기계적 반복이 아니라, 환경을 구성하는 다양한 요소와 관계들의 반복을 의미한다. 리듬 개념은 ‘균형’ 개념으로 변주되며, 그가 말한 균형은 정적 배분이 아닌, 동적인 재배치의 과정이다. 마지막으로 심미적 반복과 동적 재배치의 과정이 제대로 구현되기 위해서는 시간과 공간이 분리되는 것이 아닌, 통합된 ‘상황’으로 존재해야 함을 설명하였다. 듀이가 의도한 시공간이 통합된 상황이 ‘일상’이라고 볼 수 있다. 일상에서 경험의 다양한 요소를 통합하고, 그 속에서 의미와 성장을 추구하는 총체적 과정이 듀이가 말한 ‘리듬’ 형성의 과정이다. 이를 바탕으로 교사들이 잃어버린 교육 리듬을 회복할 수 있는 구체적 방법으로 ⅰ) 일상의 연구화, ⅱ) 균형적 세계관의 회복, ⅲ) 성장의 공동체 형성을 제안하였다. This study explores how to recover teachers’ educational rhythm due to the COVID-19 pandemic, based on Dewey’s concept of rhythm. The core of the rhythm concept proposed by Dewey can be summarized as ‘aesthetic repetition,’ ‘variation in balance,’ and ‘integration of time and space.’ Aesthetic repetition means repeating various elements and relationships that make up the environment, not mechanical repetition. This concept of rhythm is transformed into the concept of ‘balance.’ The balance, Dewey argues, is not a static distribution but a process of dynamic rearrangement. Finally, he explained that for this process of aesthetic repetition and dynamic relocation to be properly implemented, time and space must exist as an integrated rather than separate ‘situation.’ The situation in which time and space are integrated can be seen as ‘daily life’ in simpler terms. The overall process of integrating the various elements of daily life experience and pursuing meaning and growth in it can be seen as the process of forming ‘rhythm,’ as Dewey said. Based on this, I proposed the following: i) the inquiry of daily life, ii) the restoration of a balanced worldview, and iii) the formation of a community of growth, as a concrete way for teachers to recover the lost educational rhythm.

        듀이의 ‘철학의 역할’ 개념에 근거한 프래그머티즘적 교육철학의 역할 탐구

        In order to derive Pragmatic philosophy of education s role, I researched Dewey s book which suggested “role of philosophy” from the viewpoint of Pragmatic point as chronologically analyzed during early, middle and late works. As a result, I derived ‘criticism’, ‘interpretation’, ‘solution and reform’, ‘pursuit of better life and growth’ as role of philosophy. By applying these concept to education, first, the criticism of education policy and criticism of old habit. This will lead to education in a more advanced direction than it is now. Second, interpretation and clarification of educational research results. Third, it have to provide principles of educational problem solving, social reform and culture creation. Because philosophy of education is deal with the ‘value’ rather than ‘truth’. Fourth, the pursuit of beauty and the artistic development of educational experience. This could serve as a bridge between education and life.

        The Study on Implementation of Crime Terms Classification System for Crime Issues Response

        The fear of crime, discussed in the early 1960s in the United States, is a psychological response, such as anxiety or concern about crime, the potential victim of a crime. These anxiety factors lead to the burden of the individual in securing the psychological stability and indirect costs of the crime against the society. Fear of crime is not a good thing, and it is a part that needs to be adjusted so that it cannot be exaggerated and distorted by the policy together with the crime coping and resolution. This is because fear of crime has as much harm as damage caused by criminal act. Eric Pawson has argued that the popular impression of violent crime is not formed because of media reports, but by official statistics. Therefore, the police should watch and analyze news related to fear of crime to reduce the social cost of fear of crime and prepare a preemptive response policy before the people have 'fear of crime'. In this paper, we propose a deep - based news classification system that helps police cope with crimes related to crimes reported in the media efficiently and quickly and precisely. The goal is to establish a system that can quickly identify changes in security issues that are rapidly increasing by categorizing news related to crime among news articles. To construct the system, crime data was learned so that news could be classified according to the type of crime. Deep learning was applied by using Google tensor flow. In the future, it is necessary to continue research on the importance of keyword according to early detection of issues that are rapidly increasing by crime type and the power of the press, and it is also necessary to constantly supplement crime related corpus.

      • A study on the Corrosion Properties of a Dissimilar Self-Piercing Rivet with CFRP-Steel joints

        Self-Piercing Rivet (SPR) is able to joint several kinds of metal and non-metal supports together as new performing technology. The combined effect of joint configuration and environmental conditions could have detrimental effects both a corrosion and a mechanical behavior with dissimilar material SPR joints. The corrosion properties of a Self-Piercing Rivet joint of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) laminate and galvannealed steel (590 MPa) joint by an Almac-coated rivet were investigated. The aiming of this experiment, dissimilar joints were exposed to salt-spray environmental conditions according to KS D 9502 standard that is a neutral salt-spray method for 60 days. Furthermore, it was conducted to both open-circuit potential test and potentio-dynamic test in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. Meanwhile, the tests of tensile shear were carried out in order to evaluate the mechanical performances of the riveted joints during the salt spray exposition. The results show that the mechanical performance of the SPR joints progressively was decreased as function of increasing exposure time. The corrosion behavior was confirmed by the SEM/EDS analysis after the exposure of the joint in the chamber.
