Oxide dispersion-strengthened materials W-1wt%Pr2O3 and W-1wt%La2O3 were synthesized by wet chemical method and spark plasma sintering. The field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) analysis, XRD and Vickers microhardness measurements were conducted to characterize the samples. The irradiations were carried out with a 5 keV helium ion beam to fluences up to 5.0 × 1021 ions/m2 under 600 ℃ using the low-energy ion irradiation system. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) study was performed to investigate the microstructural evolution in W-1wt%Pr2O3 and W-1wt%La2O3. At 1.0 × 1020 He+/m2, the average loops size of the W-1wt%Pr2O3 was 4.3 nm, much lower than W-1wt% La2O3 of 8.5 nm. However, helium bubbles were not observed throughout in both doped W materials. The effects of pre-irradiation with 1.0 × 1021 He+/m2 on trapping of injected deuterium in doped W was studied by thermal desorption spectrometry (TDS) technique using quadrupole mass spectrometer. Compared with the samples without He+ pre-irradiation, deuterium (D) retention of doped W materials increased after He+ irradiation, whose retention was unsaturated at the damage level of 1.0 × 1022D2+/m2. The present results implied that irradiation effect of He+ ions must be taken into account to evaluate the deuterium retention in fusion material applications.

<P>The spin-orbit Mott insulator Sr3Ir2O7 provides a fascinating playground to explore insulator-metal transition driven by intertwined charge, spin, and lattice degrees of freedom. Here, we report high-pressure electric resistance and resonant inelastic x-ray scattering measurements on single-crystal Sr3Ir2O7 up to 63-65 GPa at 300 K. The material becomes a confined metal at 59.5 GPa, showing metallicity in the ab plane but an insulating behavior along the c axis. Such an unusual phenomenon resembles the strange metal phase in cuprate superconductors. Since there is no sign of the collapse of spin-orbit or Coulomb interactions in x-ray measurements, this novel insulator-metal transition is potentially driven by a first-order structural change at nearby pressures. Our discovery points to a new approach for synthesizing functional materials.</P>
Study on the Real-Time Precise Orbit Biases Correction Technique for the GPS/VRS Network

A precise real-time method of using the IGS ultra rapid products (IGU) and the GPS broadcast ephemeris to calculate the VRS orbit corrections was presented here which was suited for GPS/VRS reference station network based positioning. Test data acquired from both the SGRSN (Sichuan GPS Reference Station Network) and SCIGN (Southern California integrated GPS network) were used to evaluate the performance of the modeling techniques. The new method was proven to be more precise and reliable compared with the existing conventional network-based orbit error interpolation method. It was shown that 0.004ppm relative accuracy was reached, namely the influence from the orbit bias for the RTK positioning within 100km area can be of sub-millimeter level.

Purpose: Cutaneous lymphocyte-associated antigen (CLA)-expressing CD8+T cells have been known to play an important role in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis(AD). However, the mechanisms underlying the loss of self-tolerance remainunclear. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) play a key role in the development of homeostasisin the immune system. We, therefore, hypothesized that a reduced ability of Tregs to inhibit autologous CD8+CLA+T cells might be underlying mechanism in AD. Materials and Methods: CD8+CLA+T cells and Tregs were obtained from the peripheral blood of AD patients and control volunteers. The frequenciesof CD8+CLA+T cells were evaluated. The proliferative responses of CD8+CLA+T cells were assessed by flow cytometry, and the levels of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) in culture supernatants were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: Our results revealed higher frequency and increased expression of perforin and granzyme-B in peripheralCD8+CLA+T cells in AD, and lower inhibitory ability of Tregs on proliferation of CD8+CLA+T cells in AD. Meanwhile, the levels of TGF-β1 produced by Tregs were significantly lower in AD, and anti-TGF-β1 abolished such suppression. Conclusion: The attenuated inhibitory ability of Tregs on hyper-activated autologousCD8+CLA+T cells, mediated by TGF-β1, plays an important role in the pathogenesis of AD.

CeO2–CuO catalyst prepared by citric acid method was investigated for selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3. The activity of the CeO2 catalyst was enhanced about 8–27% in the temperature range of 125–225 ℃ at a space velocity of 28,000 h 1 by the addition of Cu. It was found that the state of Cu species had great impact on the SCR performance of CeO2–CuO catalyst. Cu2+ can enhance the low temperature activity of SCR reaction, while CuO would promote NH3 oxidation before SCR reaction at high temperature, which would cause the decrease of its high temperature SCR activity.

MnOx–CuOx/TiO2 and MnOx–CuOx/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by sol–gel method and used for low temperature selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH3. The results showed that MnOx–CuOx/TiO2 had better catalytic activity and SO2 resistance than MnOx–CuOx/Al2O3 in the temperature range of 100–250 ℃. The properties of the catalysts were characterized by using XRD, N2 adsorption, temperature programmed reduction (H2-TPR) and temperature programmed desorption (NH3-TPD). It was found that the support has a great impact on the acidity of catalyst; TiO2 and Al2O3 can promote the formation of Lewis acid sites and Bro¨ nsted acid sites respectively.

CeO2/Al2O3 catalysts prepared by three methods were investigated for selective reduction of NO with NH3. It was found that the catalyst prepared by the single step sol–gel method had the best SCR activity and SO2 resistance performance. From the results of BET, XRD, TPD and TPR, it can be concluded that large surface area, strong interaction, highly dispersed nano-crystalline ceria, high NH3 adsorption capacity and good redox ability might be the main reasons for the excellent performance of CeO2/Al2O3catalyst prepared by the single step sol–gel method.
