A Systematic Review of Data Exchange Formats in Advanced Interaction Environments
Celso A. S. Santos,Estêvão B. Saleme,Juliana C. S. de Andrade 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.10 No.5
The advent of advanced user interface devices has raised the interest of industry and academia in finding new modes of Human-Computer Interaction. Advanced interfaces employ gesture recognition, as well as motion and voice capturing to enable humans to interact naturally with interactive environments without utilizing any of the traditional devices like mice, joysticks or keyboards. Many approaches have been developed using a large variety of sensors to capture human interaction information and then provide further processing and recognition of the acquired information. However, the majority of these approaches usually focus on the actual implementation of the various stages that comprise an advanced interaction environment. Thus, the need for defining common data formats for improving integration and reutilization of these solutions are typically not addressed. On the other hand, this study aims at surveying existing research on integrating devices into interactive environments, at different interoperability levels and in data formats, identifying techniques and patterns of conveying information from the real world to the virtual world, in order to synthesize results, organize applicable documents by similarities and identify future research needs.
Chemosis as complication in transconjunctival approach for orbital trauma
Sergio Olate,Celso Palmieri Jr,Má,rcio de Moraes 대한구강악안면외과학회 2017 대한구강악안면외과학회지 Vol.43 No.1
The aim of this report was to discuss a complication resulting from a transconjunctival approach to treating an orbital fracture. A 30-year-old male patient presented with a fracture to the zygomatic orbital complex. He was treated with transconjunctival conventional surgical treatment. Two days after surgical treatment, the patient presented with secondary chemosis which was initially slight and then subsequently worsened. The clinical situation was managed with topical and systemic corticosteroids and resolved within one postoperative month. Two-year follow-up showed ptosis of the upper eyelid and limited infraversion in the affected eye. This unusual complication associated with an orbital trauma was resolved with minor functional alterations, although the consequences observed after 2 years were not completely satisfactory.

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus Stapf) essential oil has been used worldwide because of its ethnobotanical and medicinal usefulness. Regarding its medicinal usefulness, the present study evaluated the beneficial effects of lemongrass essential oil (LGEO) oral treatment on cell proliferation and apoptosis events and on early development of hyperplastic lesions in the mammary gland, colon, and urinary bladder induced by N-methyl-N-nitrosourea (MNU) in female BALB/c mice. The animals were allocated into three groups: G1, treated with LGEO vehicle for 5 weeks (five times per week); G2, treated with LGEO vehicle as for G1 and MNU (two injections each of 30 mg/kg of body weight at weeks 3 and 5); and G3, treated with LGEO (five times each with 500 mg/kg of body weight per week) and MNU as for G2. Twenty-four hours after the last MNU application, all animals were euthanized, and mammary glands, colon, and urinary bladder were collected for histological and immunohistochemical analysis. LGEO oral treatment significantly changed the indexes of apoptosis and/or cellular proliferation for the tissues analyzed. In particular, the treatment reduced the incidence of hyperplastic lesions and increased apoptosis in mammary epithelial cells. This increment in the apoptosis response may be related to a favorable balance in Bcl-2/Bax immunoreactivity in mammary epithelial cells. These findings indicate that LGEO presented a protective role against early MNU-induced mammary gland alterations in BALB/c mice.
A method using artificial neural networks to morphologically assess mouse blastocyst quality
Felipe Delestro Matos,José Celso Rocha,Marcelo Fábio Gouveia Nogueira 한국축산학회 2014 한국축산학회지 Vol.56 No.5
Background: Morphologically classifying embryos is important for numerous laboratory techniques, which rangefrom basic methods to methods for assisted reproduction. However, the standard method currently used forclassification is subjective and depends on an embryologist’s prior training. Thus, our work was aimed atdeveloping software to classify morphological quality for blastocysts based on digital images. Methods: The developed methodology is suitable for the assistance of the embryologist on the task of analyzingblastocysts. The software uses artificial neural network techniques as a machine learning technique. These networks analyzeboth visual variables extracted from an image and biological features for an embryo. Results: After the training process the final accuracy of the system using this method was 95%. To aid theend-users in operating this system, we developed a graphical user interface that can be used to produce a qualityassessment based on a previously trained artificial neural network. Conclusions: This process has a high potential for applicability because it can be adapted to additional specieswith greater economic appeal (human beings and cattle). Based on an objective assessment (without personal biasfrom the embryologist) and with high reproducibility between samples or different clinics and laboratories, thismethod will facilitate such classification in the future as an alternative practice for assessing embryo morphologies.
Taxonomy of Foenobethylus Kieffer (Hymenoptera, Bethylidae) with description of two new species
Juliana R. Savergnini,Celso O. Azevedo 한국응용곤충학회 2013 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.16 No.4
The genus Foenobethylus Kieffer from Southeastern Asia is studied, and seven species are recognized. Four previously described species are analyzed and had their known distribution broadened: F. gracilis Kieffer,F. elongatus Várkonyi and Polaszek, F. emiliacasellae Várkonyi and Polaszek, and F. thomascokeri Várkonyi and Polaszek. Two new species are described and illustrated, F. sharkeyi sp. nov. is characterized by having the metatrochanter without spine and the metafemur with acute proximal spine; and F. pyramidis sp. nov. is characterized by having the metatrochanter with one spine and the metafemur with two spines. The following new combination is established: F. thaianus comb. nov. from Parascleroderma because it has the metafemur with two proximal spines. An update world key to the species of genus is provided

Magnetic and Thermal Evaluation of a Magnetic Tunneling Junction Current Sensor Package
Rhod, Eduardo,Peter, Celso,Hasenkamp, Willyan,Grion, Agner The Korean Microelectronics and Packaging Society 2016 마이크로전자 및 패키징학회지 Vol.23 No.4
Nowadays there are magnetic sensors in a wide variety of equipment such as computers, cars, airplanes, medical and industrial instruments. In many of these applications the magnetic sensors offer safe and non-invasive means of detection and are more reliable than other technologies. The electric current in a conductor generates a magnetic field detected by this type of sensor. This work aims to define a package dedicated to an electrical current sensor using a MTJ (Magnetic Tunnel Junction) as a sensing device. Four different proposals of packaging, three variations of the chip on board (CoB) package type and one variation of the thin small outline package (TSOP) were analyzed by COMSOL modeling software by simulating a brad range of current injection. The results obtained from the thermal and magnetic analysis has proven to be very important for package improvements, specially for heat dissipation performance.
