<P>Water-soluble fluorescent silver nanoclusters (NCs) formed on biomolecule ligands have been extensively studied due to their great potential as new biocompatible fluorescent materials for biosensors. As synthetic ligands, proteins in particular can provide unique structures and functions to the assembled fluorescent silver clusters. A key challenge, however, is to develop appropriate protein ligands and synthetic approaches for cluster formation, especially using native aqueous solutions, to fully preserve the valuable properties of the protein templates. Here we report a human ferritin-templated synthesis of fluorescent silver NCs under neutral aqueous buffer conditions. The unique metal binding property of ferritin and an optimized silver ion reduction allowed us to produce highly stable fluorescent silver NCs that are steadily assembled in the cage-like ferritin proteins. The fluorescent clusters were also successfully assembled on genetically engineered ferritin with antibody-binding protein G. The resulting protein G-ferritin-silver NC complex fully retained the ferritin structure as well as the antibody binding ability. The present silver nanoclusters on ferritin (Ft-Ag NCs) also showed highly specific Cu2+-induced fluorescence quenching. By exploiting the large but stable nature of ferritin, we fabricated a highly robust and porous hydrogel sensor system for rapid Cu2+ detection, where the Ft-Ag NCs were stably encapsulated in surface-bound hydrogels with large pore sizes. Our Ft-Ag NCs that are formed under native aqueous conditions will have great potential as a new fluorescent material with the high structural and functional diversities of ferritin.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>Highly stable and copper-responsive fluorescent silver nanoclusters were assembled on human ferritin and retained the structure and function of the ferritin template as well as the fused binding protein. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c4an02400a'> </P>
Vol.16 No.1
Most illegal ad problems related to Internet portals can be solved through existing advertising-related laws, but for some new phenomena, concrete standards have not been established yet. So this paper examined two interesting judicial cases. The first case is about illegal ads carried through search services. The decision on the case was that a portal site does not have a duty to monitor illegal ads when it is not aware of them, and although there is a complaint against illegal ads, it is just enough for a portal to apply minimum ad filtering to its search service. The decision is reasonable because the search service is a sort of a public service and thus the blocking of information should not be excessive. The other case is about whether Internet portals as brokers can accuse online sellers of responsibility for illegal ads. The decision on the case was that online sellers are under administrative restrictions according to the Labeling and Advertising Law. It is needed to evaluate the subjectivity of an advertiser from a more objective point of view in order not only to protect consumers, but also to establish fair trade order.
Closed-loop Multi-rate Identification with zone-MPC using Constrained Subspace Method
Vol.2017 No.10
In many industrial processes, process variables have different sampling intervals and they are referred to as multi-rate (MR) systems. When these systems are controlled by model predictive control which is useful to control of constrained multivariable process, model mismatch can occur because of changing in process dynamics. Thus, identification of a new model is necessary. The new model should be identified in closed-loop if the process needs to comply particular operating range for product specification or safety requirement. In this paper, the re-identification problem of a MR system in a closed-loop with a MPC controller is addressed, considering the lifted system and known dynamic characteristics. In comparison with the existing approach, the proposed identification method provides more accurate and realistic model.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>High-performance electrodes are fabricated through supersonic spraying of nickel and copper particles. These electrodes yield low specific resistivities, comparable to electrodes produced by screen-printed silver paste and light-induced plating. The appeal of this fabrication method is the low cost of copper and large area scalability of supersonic spray-coating techniques. The copper and nickel electrode was fabricated in the open air without any pre- or post-treatment. The spray-coated copper–nickel electrode was characterized by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction, and energy dispersive spectroscopy. Although both SEM and TEM images confirmed voids trapped between flattened particles in the fabricated electrode, this electrode’s resistivity was order 10−6 Ωcm, which is comparable to the bulk value for pure copper.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
BWS based Interactive Streaming Service in T-DMB/WiBro Converged Mobile Environment
Byungjun Bae,Joungil Yun,Jong-Soo Lim,Yun-Jeong Song,Soo-In Lee 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
In this paper, we propose new BWS (Broadcasting WebSite) based interactive streaming service in consideration of the T-DMB/WiBro converged mobile environment. The BWS service specified in T-DMB is similar to web services through the internet. Therefore, it is expected to become one of useful data broadcasting services in T-DMB. We verify the proposed interactive BWS service supporting to link with the WiBro network by designing and implementing the test receiving platform and the return channel server. From the results, we present the technical possibility of new interactive broadcasting services on the move by utilizing the mobility of T-DMB and WiBro.

<P>This paper describes continuously phase-modulated standing surface acoustic waves (CPM-SSAW) and its application for particle separation in multiple pressure nodes. A linear change of phase in CPM-SSAW applies a force to particles whose magnitude depends on their size and contrast factors. During continuous phase modulation, we demonstrate that particles with a target dimension are translated in the direction of moving pressure nodes, whereas smaller particles show oscillatory movements. The rate of phase modulation is optimized for separation of target particles from the relationship between mean particle velocity and period of oscillation. The developed technique is applied to separate particles of a target dimension from the particle mixture. Furthermore, we also demonstrate human keratinocyte cells can be separated in the cell and bead mixture. The separation technique is incorporated with a microfluidic channel spanning multiple pressure nodes, which is advantageous over separation in a single pressure node in terms of throughput.</P>
Multimodal System by Data Fusion and Synergetic Neural Network
2005 INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL of FUZZY LOGIC and INTELLIGE Vol.5 No.2
In this paper, we present the multimodal system based on the fusion of two user-friendly biometric modalities: Iris and Face. In order to reach robust identification and verification we are going to combine two different biometric features. we specifically apply 2-D discrete wavelet transform to extract the feature sets of low dimensionality from iris and face. And then to obtain Reduced Joint Feature Vector(RJFV) from these feature sets, Direct Linear Discriminant Analysis (DLDA) is used in our multimodal system. In addition, the Synergetic Neural Network(SNN) is used to obtain matching score of the preprocessed data. This system can operate in two modes: to identify a particular person or to verify a person's claimed identity. Our results for both cases show that the proposed method leads to a reliable person authentication system.
